Excerpt:

Pleased that they were finally quiet, Cassie grinned. “Daddy, those ladies over there think you’re handsome.” she said, twisting back and forth mischievously.

Draco was used to such attention he merely smiled. Ginny snorted with laughter. She could barely stand she was shaking so hard. He glared at her. Didn’t she think he was handsome? “What?” he demanded.

“Nothing,” she said through giggles.

“And they said you should take the money from the nice man, Mummy,” Cassie smiled impishly.

This only made Ginny laugh harder. “I don’t see any “nice man”,” she teased devilishly, “Only Draco.”

Excerpt:

“Why did you come here? Really?”

He considered telling her the truth. Dumbledore had asked him to befriend Lucky and he thought Ginny was the easiest way to do so. He couldn’t make himself say the words though, so he shrugged easily and said, “I was bored.”

She bit her lip thoughtfully and then asked, “Are you going to come again?”

A slow, understanding smile spread across his mouth and he stepped closer to her, the candle in his hand flickering alarmingly. Ginny backed up quickly, suddenly looking wary, and Draco moved even closer, until she was pinned against the door, his legs pressed against hers. “Do you want me to?” he asked huskily.

Ginny laughed nervously. “You’d misunderstand if I said yes.”

“Oh, I think I understand perfectly,” he whispered.

Do we have a deal then?" she asked sweetly. When Draco nodded his head, Ginny smiled. "Deal."

"Good," said Draco, nodding his as well. "So I guess you'll be seeing a lot of me and-"

"It doesn't include sleeping together in one room, does it?" she asked. Well, after all, having children was out of the question so she couldn’t see the point of sharing one bed. The thought nearly made her sick. Sharing her bed with Malfoy?! No way! Her brain screamed. But then, why does her body disagree? Damn him! She thought spitefully.

Draco pursed his lips as if he was trying hard not to laugh. He looked at her as if he was reading the conflicting emotions raging inside her. "Do you want to?" he asked in that soft, caressing voice of his again. "We can surely make the proper arrangements," he added meaningfully.

Sharlene's ReviewBeyond Redemption by Davesmom

Rating: R

Time frame: Ginny's sixth year, Draco's seventh

General genre: Drama/Angst

Comments: A gripping, passionate story that follows a plausible redemption of Draco Malfoy as he falls for his captor, Ginny Weasley.

Excerpt:

Draco glanced at the box, completely uninterested in its contents. He was more interested in how her mouth suddenly looked pouty and stubborn. When she opened the box, though, he knew he was done for. Fudge! His weakness for sweets was the joke of the Slytherin Common Room. And this fudge looked dark and rich; exactly the kind he used to gorge on as a young child. His stomach rumbled as he watched her slender fingers lifting a piece of fudge from the box. But it seemed to droop and slide away from her grip.

“Oh, no!” Ginny cried. “I left it too close to the fire! It’s all melted!”

She lifted her hand to show him the soft, gooey mess that stuck to her thumb and forefinger. She froze when he reached out and took her wrist.

“It still looks delicious to me,” he breathed as he pulled her fingers to his lips.

Excerpt:

"And remember," he interrupted, "if I lose this match, Ginny, I'll need to be consoled. So root extra hard."

Her eyes widened, grasping the full extent of his meaning, "But . . . but we had a--"

"A bargain? I believe I already mentioned how unsatisfactory I found our bargain. Besides -- I am, after all, but a spoilt rich brat who can't keep a promise."

"I hate you," she whispered again, tears gently spilling over onto her cheeks. Oh, how she wanted to hate him, wanted this -- humiliation -- to hurt less. "You can't . . . I told you before, you can't ask me to--"

"Ginny," he murmured gently, brushing her tears away, "you beautiful, silly girl." Leaning in, he pressed a kiss to her forehead, his hands skimming over her bare back. She caught her breath a little at the contact and was so busy trying not to tremble, she barely heard what he whispered into her ear.

"I'm not asking."

She was driving him insane. And if he didn’t do anything else, he’d hit her. So, without a word, he sat down on her bedside and placed both of his hands over her ears.
