Ask the Language Nazi
I admit it. I'm a fiend about grammar and spelling in a fic. I pissed someone off once because I said publicly that I didn't bother reading their fic because they said in the author's note that they had found out halfway through that they'd been mis-spelling "Weasley" and were too lazy to go back and fix it. My reasoning is, if you don't care enough about your story to do it right, why should I care enough to read it?
However.
I have a tendency towards being harsh, and I know this. And there's a lot of good stories out there that miss perfection, but are still worth reading. So, in the interests of making the world a better place, and in order to create a place for me to vent without writing letters to specific authors who will then either expect me to beta their fics or accuse me of flaming, I'm making this page.
Got a question about language usage? Ask me. If I don't know the answer, I'll at least know where to go look it up. I'm not claiming to be perfect myself, but if there's one thing I've never been accused of, it's being unreadable due to language issues.
Meanwhile, there'll be small little lessons and things here as and when I get to write them.
