Upcoming Podcast - Ask the Author

There's no date set yet, but I will be getting together soon with a couple of other D/G fans to do a group podcast, and we're soliciting questions for an Ask the Author session. Want to know the inspiration for a certain plot? Curious about a characterization? Just want to know about the author's writing process? Got another burning question? Now's the time to ask.

Authors on deck: (subject to change)

Adelagia

Elle Blessing(way)

Lyndsie

Sarea Okelani

Submit your questions here or by email to lyndsie (at) dracoandginny.com. No deadline yet. Depending on how many we get, we may not be able to get to every question, so please be understanding. : )

General question for all the authors: When do you guys find the time to write? Where do you do it? I always find people's writing processes really interesting. :)

Oh! And how/when did everyone get into DG? Or fan fic in general?

And! Do you write fan fic for other fandoms? If so, is that different than writing for Harry Potter? And how is it different?

To all:
Are there any other favourite pairings any of you like to use to compliment Draco/Ginny? And if so, why?

What happens to any plot-bunnies who get away? I've seen some fanfictions take years and have a year long gap between updates. How do you manage to get a hold of carrots to tempt those bunnies back?

Alot of you (if not all) are winners of Draco/Ginny contest and exchanges. What makes and/or goes into a win-worthy Draco/Ginny fanfiction?

Thanks, Alyra

Is there any chance that you would write a sequel to Portkey Party?
I think that it was the story that caught me to like (love)this pairing.

Amina @ Jul 01, 2010 09:40 pm

Where do you get your inspiration for plots and dialogue? Your delightful friends and family, films/TV/literature, your inner voices/muses/bunnies, alien abduction, or other?

Do you plan things out or let it flow as you go, or both?

What's your favorite "genre" to write: humor, angst, fluff (etc.)?

How does the beta process shape your stories?

What makes a review useful to a writer?

What draws you to Draco/Ginny as a writer? What do you want to explore in this pairing? Conversely, what are the unique aspects that make D/G challenging or difficult?

What is your inspiration when writing?

Are there any non-Harry Potter sources you use when you are trying to write D/G and you suffer from writer's block?

How did you find your beta?

Do you use the same beta-reader for every story?

I would really love if the podcast is not yet over and You would ask Amina's question to Sarea about a sequel to Portkey Party.I read the fic years ago and still leaves me pondering as to what would have happened(the story was lest on a cliffhanger). It was a great fic and I would absolutely love to read more.
