The idea of a masquerade ball has been used many times before, but you have done a good job of making it something different. Ginny and Draco's reluctance to take part, but finding something good in it is quite nice. I look forward to see what happens now that the ball is over...

I loved this chapter, and I can't wait to see how this story develops . Oh, and was Hagrid Garfield? the image of him as that bright orange cat would've been hilarious. *grins* keep up the good work!

I have to admit I started reading your story simply because I was bored, the whole ball thing just doesn't do it for me. So that being said...you must update soon because I am now hooked.
I like that Hermione is not responding to Draco's comments, afterall she is the mature one of the group and now that she is older it seems logical (at least to me) that she would just choose to ignore it (and ignoring it would just annoy Draco all the more).
Draco's self talk is funnier than hell... I love that he thinks he is losing his touch.
I like the feel of your story, it seems to have a nice flow and I'm looking forward to reading more.

this is a great start! the characterisations of draco and ginny are completely believable, and i love how hermione is being cool-headed and ignoring draco's insults :)
