wow, that's the end? Man I've been in love with this story from the start and have anxiously awaited new chapters. Very nice job.

Author's Response: I've got a bunch of one-shots I'm going to post, but they aren't related to this story. I wrote this, as well as the first two chapters to the sequel, over a year ago. I can't remember where the sequel was going, so, if I can't come up with something decent, it will be the sequel that wasn't. Anyhow, look for a post next weekend!

Oh, I love it!!!! And please post the sequal so that we can all encourage you to continue writing. It is way too good to let you stop there. I can't wait to see what happens to them. And a wedding!!!! I would love a wedding!!!! Even a one-shot of their wedding.

Author's Response: The one-shots I'll be posting (every Sunday, as usual) won't be related to this story. I've started the sequel, but I'm not sure it will ever come to light. I started it a year ago, so any and all plot bunnies have gone awry. It's like starting from scratch! We'll see if it comes back to me, if something else comes to me, or if the whole project is scapped. Look for the first one-shot next Sunday!

Yipee!!!!!!! I have been waiting for that happy ending. I thought that neither one of them would get their heads together. Sigh. I love a happy ending.

Author's Response: LOL. I kept telling everyone that they just had to wait for it. I don't like unhappy endings (as there are so many in real life). So, even though this story was based on real life goings on, I decided it needed a happy ending. I'm glad you liked it.

Oh, that is so sad, but I agree with Draco. And I must admit that I do get a bit frustrated with Ginny. I mean, she tells him that she wants someone to love her, and he tells her that he loves her but she won't believe him. Anyway, please update soon!!!!

This makes me want to laugh and wring both of their throats at the same time. I mean, it's so classic, how they fight, and how they (at least Ginny doesn't ) don't realize how much they love each other. But then I get angry. I mean just give it up. Ah well, I understand Ginny, Draco seems to think that the way to make her happy is to do for her what he'd like to be done for him. Shouldn't he know that never works? Keep this up. It has a feel of real life to it that keeps me in the story. That's really good.

Author's Response:
Thank you. I've had several people (over at Portkey more than here) insult my story repeatedly because I had one of the FICTIONAL characters do something that displeased them because it was morally wrong or because it wasn't like other fics.

I mean, that was the goal. This story was the result of me purging some of my anger over a couple of particularly disturbing set of circumstances.

Some of the reviews have gotten really nasty -- especially when Draco cusses at Jayden. I had one particular review that made me want to go through the computer screen and punch the (as KateinVa would say) "daft cow" that wouldn't shut her trap. She kept arguing that only a low-life would swear at his child and act like Draco was acting. She repeatedly insulted my use of the word "fuck." I happen to like fuck -- in fact, you could say it is my favorite word. It's applicable to almost every situation, and you'd be hard pressed to find another word like it in the American English language.

Anyhow, I have had to explain to so many people that I wanted to write two imperfect characters that were dealing with a situation in the way I see so many completely ridiculous real-life people deal with the same type of situation. Of course, I toned it down for this fic because I'm a sucker for a happy ending.

I've just really appreciated some of the reviews I've gotten over here -- especially in these seemingly redundant, difficult last chapters. Your review is definitely one of those that is highly regarded. I know that Portkey is a larger archive and there are far more young reviewers over there, but the nasty reviews always come from those with an air of sophistication -- meaning they are older. In fact, I told one of the most nasty reviewers that I'd like to live in her life -- because it was obvious by her review that perfection dwelled in her realm and that no one made mistakes or bad decisions in her reality.

Thanks again for the review. The last chapter will go up on Sunday.

These two seem destined to live at each other's throats. Just when I'm fed up with the way one of them behaves, the other acts like such an infant. It's very frustrating. I hope they can move past it into the realization of love---even if it is like a comfortable habit.

Author's Response: Ha! Aren't they irritating?! I know, I hate it as well. You as an author know that sometimes when writing, the characters speak for themselves -- and when you try to push them, it all turns out like shit! The writing of this story was therapy for me during a particularly difficult time last summer. None of the story is based on me, but it is based on several of my friend's situations. Isn't that sad? I know more than one person that fits into this story. Selfish parents piss me off. Can you tell?
The last chapter goes up on Sunday and thank you so much for your review!

I really hate Draco right now. What an ass! I hope that he and Ginny figure things out soon, because I'm getting tired of hating one or the other of them. Ah well. If they did things rationally, there wouldn't be a story for me to read, right? Thanks for the update!

Author's Response: Thank You! Someone finally realizes what I've been saying ALL ALONG? You'd be amazed how many truly NASTY reviews I've gotten because of the way fictional characters are acting! I've explained to people over and over again that I wrote this last summer after a series of particularly difficult situations. I promise that I wasn't the one acting like this (I was being a moron, but I wasn't doing it while attempting to be a decent parent -- I'm still allowed!), but most of these situations are at least partly based on fact. Granted, some of it is totally made up for the premise of making the story flow. You get my point.
What has gotten to me the most is that I've started to hate my characters. I hate people who act like this in real life -- you know, the people who are always putting themselves and baser urges first while completely ignoring what kind of situations are best for their children. I had a particularly nasty little review over at Portkey over the issue of Draco swearing at Jayden. I got a lot of flack for that one. This person went on a tirade about how she didn't like my use of the "F Word" but "hung in with the story." She went on to say it was "mostly enjoyable" but that Draco swearing at Jayden wasn't "adding anything to my story." I forget sometimes that there are a lot of people reading fic that don't understand the sublties of characters. To me, this signaled Draco was at the end of his rope. He was fighting to stay sane and make sense of his life -- and then Ginny lets Jayden go unsupervised because she is so caught up in her own bullshit -- and he cracks. He threw a tizzy without Jayden there, and with no intention of Jayden seeing it. He is furious for all of the above mentioned facts and the demise of his semi-relationship with Ginny. I'm sorry if I was attempting to show Draco's state of mind, you know?! I know more people that end up like this because of lack a maturity.

Obviously, given the length of this review (especially given that it isn't even 7 a.m. when I'm leaving it), I am so appreciative that someone FINALLY gets it. Thank you for that.

The last chapter goes up on Sunday.

Oops I accidently posted before I was done.

Ginny just can't see that Draco really does love her just doesn't show it as much as she would like or in the way that she would like. I think Draco needs to sit her down and just tell her straight out. But Your the BOSS. I'l let yo do it how you would like to.

Author's Response:
Thank you! Someone finally realized that I'm the freaking boss in my own dadgum story! Ha! i haven't had so much of a problem with it here, but it has been a rather large issue over at Portkey.

Alright, I'm finding Ginny a bit irritating. Draco wants to marry her. If she did what was best for the children it would work out. Her independent streak is ticking me off. Maybe that is because I wish I didn't have to go to work every day. Oh well. I still love your story. Update soon.

Author's Response:
Hey, all of us wish we didn't have to go to work everyday. LOL! This is all based off of a series of particularly difficult situations that I went through last summer. The irresponsible parents aren't based on me, but a couple sets of friends -- one imparticular.

Thank you so much for the review. The last chapter goes up on Sunday!
