Thank you for updating, it is great that you have not abandoned it. I like Draco's possessiveness and how Ginny gradually appreciates him more, it feel as very natural progression and not forced in any way. A question: HYD strikes me as very cute and fluffy in some way and CIC is different, fluffiness is not there (good thing in my books :), so will you follow the HYD story line or will you change it? I hope this is generic enough question and it will not be spoiler for anybody

Author's Response: Hi there, thanks for commenting! And nope, your question isn't really a spoiler. While there definitely is a healthy dose of fluff in HYD, I actually find the story a bit dark - I mean, kids kidnapping other kids and beating them to a pulp, the main love interest basically going on a hunger strike in order to be with the girl he loves, amnesia... Which fits quite nicely with the CIC universe, where everything is pretty dark. Draco and Ginny have their own kind of fluffiness (his telling her that she's plain looking is his way of telling her she looks pretty, his way of spoiling her is to kidnap her for a weekend getaway, etc), but they aren't going to be the cuddles & giggles kind of couple. And now, we've reached the point in the HYD narrative where the REALLY dark stuff starts to creep in, so I would predict that things don't really get all that fluffy from here on out. There will be pockets of it (otherwise, how can you support this couple if it's all tragedy and tears??), but not a great deal. They're teenagers from opposite factions falling in love during a war.

Yay update! I'm super intrigued with where you will take this story. I think you've done an excellent job with using the HYD idea and really giving it your own twist. I also like that Draco is well aware that he isn't perfect and he doesn't seem to be trying to pretend he is or can be. The characters seems so realistic. I can't wait to see what his father wants from him! It's an interesting twist to have both parents there to cause him trouble. And what will the Weasleys think!? In this whole new type of world you have to wonder how they will react to Ginny's involvement with Draco. Until next time!

Author's Response: Thanks for commenting! I have to admit, I haven't really given the Weasleys a whole lot of consideration. They're more on the periphery of the story - but that's because if they WERE involved, there would be absolutely NO WAY Draco would ever come within 2 feet of Ginny ever again! So, they're a bit of a roadblock to their relationship, that's for sure. But, you may see them pop up at some point down the road.

Wasn't Angelicue the one Draco danced with on that ball were they snuck Ginny in?

I'm so happy to see the update, it's always such a pleasant surprise.

It's good to see that Draco and Ginny's relationship is progressing. But while he has his friends guarding her I don't think he's aware enough of the danger she's in. I think his arrogance is to blame. He is sure that he can handle this. Of course, his parents could always force a marriage on him. It's not clear whether he is ready to defy them. It would also cost him a lot.

Thank you so much for the update!!

Author's Response: Thanks for the comment! With regards to Draco's arrogance, you might be on to something there... hehehe. The biggest question between these two will come back to something Malfoy said way back in Chapter 5...

This is an absolutely AMAZING story!! Everything about it is perfect...the tension, the setting, plot but mostly the passion between Draco and Ginny is exactly how it should be!! I am SO READY for when Ginny FINALLY admits that Draco is who she really wants, who she really love!! Can't wait for the next update!! I hope it comes real soon!!!

I LOVE THIS! I'm a fan of both D/G and HYD and I admit when I saw HYD I thought of this ship. You are doing an amazing job of giving the story your own twists and making all the characters a bit of your own and a bit of the HP worlds. Take your time updating because each chapter is spectacular and I wouldn't want to rush you! Hope to see more in the future.

I am so excited to see you writing again! I hope your personal world has calmed, and i know you and your family are stronger for all the trials you have gone through. I've been reading this story for years and it still gets to me. You have a wonderful way with the characters and the entire world and story you are spinning. I am eagerly looking forward to the next chapter. Take care!

Awww! What a great chapter. I especially liked the bit about "she gets under your skin" vs. "she gets into your soul." Well said! ^_^

Author's Response: Thanks!! I'm glad you liked that part! I thought it was an interesting way to show the different ways that Draco & Blaise think about Ginny.

I absolutely love this story!! I dont know how i feel about Blaise now with him trying to break Ginny and Draco up. But I sure do love Draco. He's a perfect mix of insufferable and charming at the time. Cant wait for the next chapter. Hopefully it has a lot of D/G interaction.

Author's Response: Don't give up on Blaise entirely - I'm sure there's a D/G shipper in him yet!

I just took a day and read this whole thing from the beginning, and I have to say that I cannot wait for your next update. There are so many complex relationships in this story and it's really exciting to read. I also love your characterizations of D and G. It's so nice to see a unusual portrayal that is still accurate. Great job, and I will be awaiting the next update! :)

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you're reading! I appreciate your comments, particularly as the characterizations are something that I definitely try to focus on.

I physically ache from how perfect this is.
The scene after Blaise's and Draco's fight with Ginny and Draco? Perfection. Utter perfection. Ginny really is the spokesperson for actions speak louder than words. Which is why I'm so proud of her for saying: “There is nothing in the world that could hurt me more than to see those I love either hurt or damaged. Or knowing that they’re reckless with their own safety,” she said softly. THIS! This is what I've been waiting for! I know it's not an outright deceleration of love, but it's pretty darn close. And not to mention, it's a major step for Ginny.
Other squee-worthy lines:
“Can’t you see that you and I are just opposite sides of the same coin?” he breathed.
YES! Yes they are! They're both unflinchingly loyal and reckless, and perfect, and oh gosh, what's another word for perfect?
“We’re a disastrous pair, Malfoy.”
“A beautiful disaster,” he insisted
WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO TO ME? All I can say is... My emotions!
“She gets into your soul,” Draco corrected.
Could you excuse me for a moment while I sob in the corner? Draco is just... I don't even know what to say. Their love is so pure and beautiful.

You're so talented. The amount of times I squeal, or gasp, or get misty-eyed while reading this story is insane. Like I said, so, so talented!

Please update soon! I'll just be here, re-reading the perfection that is "Crossing Into Chaos" in the meantime.
:)

Author's Response: Oh my goodness, thank you so much! I am totally giddy reading this review, because you are (so far) the only one that's commented on the fact that she has just told Draco that she counts him among the people she loves. That is HUGE for her. And, of course, there's the Patronus thing. You've nailed it - her actions speak louder than words, because she is definitely not ready for words. So, it's not an outright declaration, but it's about as close as we're going to get (for awhile...)

The other two lines you commented on - I'm so happy you liked them! I was really nervous about using them (both the 'opposite side of the same coin' thing and the "beautiful disaster' as they are both a little cliche and I've seen them used in other places... In fact, I Googled extensively to ensure they were, in fact, cliche and not just something I'd read in a novel once and remembered) but they just reflect so much what I think about these two.

Thank you so much for writing! Believe it or not, I've been reading this story since you first published it! It's almost like we're friends! Anonymous internet friends who never speak with one another!

Thank you for feeding my Draco Obsession. Yes, so big it needs the capital letters.

Yay yay yay! I'm so glad Ginny didn't take his shit. I just can't wait to see what happens next in this story. I don't mind that the chapters are shorter I just love reading whatever you put out! I'll be on the edge of my seat waiting for the next chapter!

Author's Response: Ginny has what Draco doesn't - the strength to walk away (at least for now... *evil grin*). Thanks for reading!

P.S. I refuse to believe that Blaise only asked Ginny on a date to get back at Draco for sending him after Cho. I think he respects her more than to just use her like that. Perhaps he is trying to be a shield so that everyone thinks she is with him and not with Draco. Or do I make him too noble?

Author's Response: Yep, you make him too noble. I mean, he has, since enacting his little plot, become a bit of a D/G shipper, but nothing so noble as you're thinking. He's still a Slytherin, and in many ways, just as selfish as Draco.

Oh, thank you so much for the update! Each new chapter of this story is like a special gift. I'm glad that Draco and Blaise worked things out between themselves in the end. But it scares me that when Draco is in a fit of rage it takes someone else to stop him. He can't do it by himself. And of course he won't walk away from Ginny to keep her safe (like Harry would have done) because he is too selfish and she's touched something inside him that no one has touched before. Ginny might appreciate his determination to make their relationship work but she also understands much better than him how much danger for both of them this relationship holds. I wonder what she will do.
Hopefully, it won't be long wait to find out as the updates became more frequent.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! The thing about Draco isn't so much that he's *selfish* - it's that he's arrogant. He understands how much trouble lies ahead for them, but he is completely confident that he can outwit, evade, outrun, out-scheme everything and win the day.

And, yep, he's definitely got some rage issues. You'll find out a bit more about the history in that area in the next few chapters.

Ahhhh, cliffhanger!!! But the fic is totally awesome, definitely "feels" like HYD, and makes me want to go back and rewatch oodles of J-drama. ^_^

I reread the chapter and I'm stil a little confused. If Blaise only pretended to like Ginny to punish Draco because he hates him, why did he tell Draco about Ginny's patronus?

Author's Response: Excellent question! What you said is true - Blaise interfered with Ginny & Draco because he blames Draco for the fact that his poor little heart was trampled by Cho's designer Quidditch boots, knowing that Draco only convinced him to go after her so that he'd be out of the way, giving Draco the chance to move in on Ginny. But, does Blaise really hate Draco? Also, there's one more layer to Blaise's actions - still to be revealed. It sets up the next major conflict in the story.

OH MY GOODNESS, MY HEART WAS RACING THE ENTIRE TIME I READ THE SECOND HALF OF THE CHAPTER!
I cannot believe Blaise! I'm a little confused about his actions, but I'm going to read the chapter after I finish this review.
I LOVE that Draco and Ginny are so in love with each other. The fact that her patronus is a dragon.... Be still my fangirl heart! And the fight with Blaise, and Draco defending his love for Ginny... my emotions are out of control!
Please, please, please update soon! This forever remains my favourite story, and I desperately await each update!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! Ginny may not be able to come right out and tell Draco how she feels, but her actions (and her Patronuses!) certainly tell volumes about her feelings.

Yay! The fabulous fic continues! (Waves a flag in honor of the event. It's not really any flag in particular... it just kind of seems like a good idea. ;) Draco and Ginny have taken such a long time to get to this point, and it's taken so *much* for them to do it, that it feels like they've really earned the emotions they're both feeling. And that's what can really be missing in D/G fics-- the point can be reached much too easily, and can feel like such a foregone conclusion.

Blaise is fascinating here, too. What he's really up to seemed so obvious at first... but I do have to wonder... and finally, I'm not entirely sure why he does what he does in this chapter, but I think that maybe his motives are a little mixed.

Anyway, we're all waiting for the next chapter! (Waves the flag again. There could be a dragon on it. I'm kind of picturing the red dragon of Wales, actually.)

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! Blaise did reveal the majority of his motives in this chapter... but there's one 'layer' left to be revealed, and it leads / sets up the next major conflict in the story.
