fabulous update (:

Oh Draco, Draco, Draco. Thank goodness they reunited, and the poor boy got a moment of happiness! This fic has been pretty tough on him, hasn't it?

I love your Draco, though. So un-trusting. You did a good job making him go sorta nuts in that isolation cell. I wonder how long he can hold out...please say he gets off in the end? Please?

Nott was wonderful, as usual. I love his banter.

Thank you for updating! It felt like much longer than 2 weeks, but I appreciate that it was actually a short interval!

I honestly think you're a great updater so I don't think you should worry about that all the time. :)

I don't have much time, but I thought it was a good chapter. The worry that Naomi went through was very clear, and it was endearing that Ginny trusted her so quickly. Although I do think Ginny was a little foolish to trust her so quickly, I hope for her sake that it was a a good decision. :)

Lovely story, and I can't wait until Draco enters the picture again.

I love this chapter! The Harry/Ginny breakup scene is just *perfect*. And *please* write more about Theodore and Draco... they're both absolutely great in this fic...
And I'm kind of sad it will end soon because this fic is the first D/G fic I've ever read (thanks to arabela, who recommended it to me) and it totally dragged me in and I became an obsessive D/G shipper. Like someone said before, "bittersweet"

Woah fast update. =) And now I kind of feel bad for Harry...but happy that Ginny managed to tell him. Thanks for writing!

That was fast! I'm very thankful for that too!

I must say that the Ginny-Harry break-up scene was perfect. At first I thought Harry would be too possessive and foolish, but it worked out perfectly and he wasn't annoying. Huzzah!

I look forward to the next chapter as always. Pierce dead? No. I still can't imagine it.

I've been reading this story from the beginning onwards, and I basically adore it. The character of Jonathon Pierce is so incredibly original it's absolutely refreshing. Your plot twists, humor, characterization...it's all just simply amazing. I can't wait to read the next chapter!

Hello, new reader. I read all of this fic in a day, and now that I've caught up, I wish I savored each chapter slower. :)

First off, you're writing is fantastic! The way it flows, the dialogue, the plot twists, the characterization. I was thoroughly impressed from the first chapter I must say. Do you have any original fiction? You're OC, Pierce is just amazing. He sort of represents what Draco is in most D/G fics in my opnion. Pierce is that character that the reader convinces themselves into believing that their good, but conflicted which is usually what Draco does. Interestingly, your Draco from the beginning of the fic seems to have a firm decision. I think thats what amused me the most. I'm a little curious to see if there is any more development left for Draco as a character since he seems fairly secure in who he is, his actions, and his love for Ginny which is kind of shocking to me. Draco, out of all the characters in your fic, seems the most "settled" from the get go. I don't know if that makes any sense, but I just thought it was very different for a D/G fic.

My theory is that Pierce is not dead because well... we can't leave that whole Naomi thing hanging. Right? That and I'm sure everyone is wondering whether Pierce will give up the deatheater thing and face his inner demons. I mean the build up on Pierce is huge, him dying would be just... so open ended.

AND the grand finale HUGE question I have for this fic is, is Snape genuinely fighting for the deatheaters and is he going to play a bigger role in Draco's fate in the next chapter? I'm one of those people who believes Snape killed Dumbledore as a promise to him, and I'm interested to see what you think of this through Snape's actions in the next chapters.

AWESOME read. I really enjoyed it up to this point. Its been so long since I've read a well developed fanfic. Thank you so much. I look foward to your next update!

Just when I hoped that everything's going to be fine (at least for a while) McG comes and... wham! Another trouble! Amazing what you Draco with Pierce on the begining, and I love how Draco never *wanted* to kill Pierce, but still did, though you *must* update soon for us to see what's going on with Naomi (you make the best OCs I've ever read!)
This is still one of the best fics I've read, like I said after chapter 8

Interesting to see how despair and need to show results made Pierce, well, stupid. He totally lost notion of believable, and I agree with Draco, the way he played things, the way he just told him he was sorry, but the Order killed Ginny? Right. Believable. Not. It was a good way to write his mental breakdown. Kudos to you! Other than that... Still think McGonagall is way OOC, having loved Dumbledore as a friend or a lover, no matter - but hey, that's the fun in fanfiction, you can make them act as you damn well please!

This has to be one of the best fics i have ever read. It is actually plausible and the writing is superb. I read the entire thing (well, thus far) in one sitting. I was glued to my computer. Nott is absolutely fascinating. I find your characters to be very honest. Please keep writing

Wondeful! superbly written.
Firstly, you have convinced a true sceptic. in terms of presenting a plausible situation where ginny/draco ship could come to fruition. I have enjoyed immensely the great characterisation. Each character has been given such depth and realism so as to make them interesting and multi-faceted.
You handle suspense in a cruelly masterful way. I think its the best I have read so far. I particularly like Nott as a catalyst for suspense.
Dialogue is sharp, pointed, exciting and telling. You have a gift with the nuances of certain emotions and phrases.
Quite simply you have re-ignited an interest in a ship I thought had been done to death. I sincerely hope that the muses aid you in this story so as I can get my fix that little bit faster.

Good luck! I think you have done a fantastic job so far. Please continue to provide me with a highly seductive relief from finals study.

Oh, thank you so much for updating. I was getting these weird withdrawl symptoms...twitching sneer, explosive temper; but alas, not nearly as much plot as your fics.
Name: Anise reviewed Things Change, Life Goes On on Apr 17, 2007 06:49 am
Hmm. I can't say that I think Draco was out of character here. However, that's because of the very particular and peculiar situation that he's in. I doubt he would have told Ginny so flatly that he loved her without that.

Author's Response: I'm really glad you think so. That's the whole reason I've been taking the progression of the romance SO slowly. I wanted to build it up to a point that would make a confession like this plausible, whereas any earlier, it definitely WOULD have been out of character. That, and like you said, his circumstances account for a lot too, which is what I was hoping people would take into consideration. I'm happy you seem to think I did an all right job presenting that! Thanks!

The chapter was really great. Really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, great.
You didn't go overboard with fluff at all, I thought it was really great. I really liked the Pansy scene, the way Ginny provoked her and all. As for Nott, I don't think he'll turn out to be evil. Can you please write more about him next chapter, because I really want to know why is he stocking Ginny.
Oh, and btw, what happened with Pierce? I mean, he didn't just sit in his office grading homeworks and doing nothing, didn't he? He has to do something about the whole situation he's in.
Anyway, great chapter.

I really like your characterization of Minerva. She seems much more "steely" and cold, like she should be, than what other fics show her as. Her explanation is fanatastic! And I like your broken-hearted-Pierce-turned-evil ... sorry, it's almost like James Bond and Vesper in Casino Royale...(hehe)

Great chapter.
I can bet that the bracelet will show it's "special properties" 'till the end of the fic.
Also, guys, you can't blame McGonagall for being harsh, because Draco helped Dumbledore's death. As far as she's concerned, he's a Death Eater.
Ohh, when are Draco and Ginny finally going to hook up? I really hoped it's gonna be this one.
And Pierce's in trouble again. Did Naomi really escape or did Snape lied to him? Poor Ben, trapped at Lucius's...
Anyway, great chapter

I LOVED this chapter. I doubted that she works for Lucius all along, but I guess I'm sure now. I can't believe she has a son...
as for the D/G part, I loved the way you made Draco admit all those things to her, the kiss was absolutely brilliant, even thought Ginny chickened in the end.
It's a great chapter, but about Draco hiding in the Shrieking Shack... (I can't imagine what will that do to their relationship)... er, where was I again?
Ah, right, well, you already made Draco hiding in the Shack in Misconceptions, so is going to be something similar like then or something totally different?

Loved the chapter, still think it's the best fic I ever read

Author's Response: Firstly - THANK YOU! Secondly - No, no, no lol. It's not the shrieking shack at all. Back...ummm, geez I don't even remember what chapter. I THINK it was when Draco first overheard Pansy's plot to kidnap Ginny. ANYHOW, in whatever chapter around that time, Draco takes Ginny to this abandoned house in the outskirts of Hogsmeade. Not literally a shack. That's what I was referring to. I'll have to make a note of that in case other people are confused...

Re: your comments on Quidditch: I couldn't find exactly where you found your information on HP Lexicon, but I think you must have slightly misread whatever it was. There are 14 players per game, and 7 players per team. The only way for there to be 14 players per team would be if you included a full string of alternates.

Author's Response: Yeah, the Lexicon just says (and I quote) "each House has 14 players." Of course, being completely clueless to athletics of any kind, alternates didn't even cross my mind, so I automatically assumed all players would be, you know, playing. Lol wooops. Ah well. As far as mistakes go, at least this was a minor one haha. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I knew in due time that Snape would find out about Jon's girl. And, like him I do suspect her. I wonder who she's working for. But, at the same time I think she is really sincere about how she feels about Jon and wanting better for him. As for Ginny/Nott she should watch herself around him, though I think he's harmless. GJ!
Name: Rashonda reviewed Things Change, Life Goes On on Feb 25, 2007 02:19 pm
I just noticed something. Ginny was jealous of Pansy for a moment there when she thought the other girl wanted Draco. It was subtle the way you wrote it, but upon second viewing I caught it. Hmm, I wonder will Draco sense it too soon.

Author's Response: Oh...umm, well, if jealousy did get conveyed, it was unintentional lol. I didn't mean to write Ginny as being jealous because...well, at this point, she's not. Sorry I made it seem that way!

Wow, very great writing! I loved Ginny's outburst, "too much of a sniceling coward to do a decent job of being evil!" great line! cant wait to keep reading!

Ooh, this is becoming more interesting. Not saying that it wasn't to begin with. I can't believe that Jon gave in that easily to Naomi's manipulations, but perhaps he hasn't felt like that Jon that she knew he just wanted to step back in time and be who he once was, who knows though. I just hope he keeps his guard up. Poor Draco, the boy can't even be around her now without acting all verklempt, I can't wait until Gin's epiphany about him though, that should be really interesting. Great as usual.
