Whata great chapter AGAIN!
I love that moment between Adrian and Draco, very honest and open especially on the part of Draco. It is as if he has never know what it means to be in love and especially wonder why Ginny's words mean so much to him.

I look forward to the confrontation between Luna and Draco and will the rest of her family make an appearance?

Author's Response: I like Adrian. I wasn't sure when I began the fic if he was actually going to be in it or just remain an offhand reference. When he did show up, I really liked what I found out about him. Draco really hasn't known what love is, whatever incarnation he has right now. We'll see how the ending goes; I've had lukewarm feedback on it so far.

I just wanted to say, I will review properly at the end of the ff, but so far I am really enjoying it and am reading it religiously! Keep up the good work!

Author's Response: There aren't many chapters left to go, so I guess that proper review is on its way soon. Hopefully you'll enjoy the end of the fic just as much as you have been so far.

Abused girls tend to go for abusive guys and as far as I can see, Draco's being a mite abusive... He's controlling; not in the way Trent or Tom were, but he's controlling nevertheless.

Author's Response: *nods* Absolutely. I didn't go for a neat storyline in this one, and no one was safe from being dinged. As much as Draco is being helpful to a point, he's also pushing her where she doesn't want to go. He's acting in his own interest as much as hers in this fic.

Um, he kinda just raped her.

Author's Response: *nods* I don't think anyone in the story is free from their darker sides, and Draco is certainly no exception. At best he's an antihero, but he's still a selfish git and I didn't gloss over that in this.

"She was broken into pieces, glued back together all wrong, and now the shattered edges grated against each other." Wow. What an excellent line. Well done.

Author's Response: Thanks. It's not a happy story, and I think this line pretty much sums up how Ginny is throughout the fic.

awwww. loooooove it :]

I really liked this chapter. Ginny needs to take his advise.

I hope that Draco gets to talk ot Luna, maybe she can help with Ginny.

Good Luck with the next chapter! :)

Author's Response: We'll see how this goes. The entire story isn't quite happiness and light, you know. :)

Your story is nice but I am unable to follow it. What about Ginny's fourth year when she hexed Malfoy, sixth when she dated Harry? Which book is it compliant to?

Author's Response: It's compliant through the sixth book. I came up with the idea before DH came out, and I avoided spoilers. I finished writing it before DH, too. I mentioned the hex in fourth year and dating Harry, I can't remember which chapter at the moment. Definitely in the beginning of chapter 1, tho. I did mention the breakup from the end of HBP.

"I don't love you," she whimpered.

His gut twisted painfully. "I know. That's all right."

Aaaawww!
He has feelings other than lust!
Not that lust is bad...lust is v v v good. ;D

Author's Response: Yep. Draco isn't sure what the feelings are, but it's definitely more than lust. And lust has an important place, as we all know. ;)

Finally she isn't so....robotic about it. I hope she chills out more. She has a ways to go yet. Can't wait to read more! :)

Author's Response: We'll see how chilled out she gets. Defenses die hard, and especially if she feels threatened.

The wall is crumbling. Draco was right she needed that.

Loved this chatper. Can't wait to read more!

Good Luck! :)

Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying the fic. :)

*sigh* I was so very excited to see a new chapter of this up, and so I had to drop a line and say that this is possibly the best chapter yet! I am very much enjoying this story.

Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying this! There will definitely be more plotty bits later. :)

Can I just say again, this is a great story. I am just so intrigued by the way you write each character. Their flaws and their pain. It totally takes me in and I feel torn. I love that they are all healing and it is coming along BUT..... But their is soo much hurt that it sometimes feels like she, Ginny, is never going to snap out of it.
Thank you for taking us on this journey. I am loving each chapter.

Author's Response: I'm so happy that they feel as real to you as they were while I was writing them. There is an incredible amount of misery between these characters, yet they're able to overcome it and still show compassion at times. In retrospect, I think that's one of my favorite qualities about this story.

He is getting to her slowly but surely...lol! I love this story it is so diffrent from the others.

I thought the part about the temple looking diffrent for Pansy was really good. Shows how Ginny really feels inside.

Can't wait to read more! ;)

Author's Response: I'm glad the more negative aspects to the story isn't scaring people away. This is the darkest thing I've written in a very long time, and not everybody's into that. :) The temple is a big clue-by-four for Draco. Well, the entire story is as much his evolution as it is Ginny's. And hawt sex, of course. ;)

I remember a few chapters ago I said Draco was "nice" and you said you didn't know about that. I see why you said it now.

He's still sexy though. And, despite everything, I think he might be exactly what she needs to save her, even if he is a bit of an ass along the way.

I'm absolutely loving this story, I check the Most Recent section everyday hoping for an update. Beautifully written!

Author's Response: Yep. He's got some aspects that are nice and others that are completely self serving. He's still pretty much an unrepentant bastard, but he does try to help the ones he loves. *shrugs* Antihero material, definitely. :) I'm glad you're enjoying the story.

I love this story it has angst, drama, humor and smut. The way that the characters seem to take on a life of their own is unbelievable. I can not wait to see what happens next.

Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying it! This is a twisty story, going into all kinds of dark places. It's going to continue going into dark places, just so you know. :)

Oh the pain! I cannot stop myself from reading the story. I love it. I am soo impressed with how you are dealing with the pain that Ginny has experienced. I do hope that Pansy and Ginny can heal one another and teach one another. Draco is just awesome!

Author's Response: I did a lot of bad, bad things to Ginny in this fic. Well, I did a lot of bad things to a lot of characters in this. ^^; I'm glad that you can see the beauty that they do have, flawed as they are, and that you're enjoying the fic. :)

Wow. Deliciously dark fic ;) I am really excited to see where this is all going. Well, fantastic job writing, and I look forward to your next installment!

Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying how dark the story is. There's definitely more where that came from. :)

I always love Fanon!Pansy, especially if she's in such a "jolly" mood!

Hmmm, why do I have a feeling Luna's involved somehow in Trent's "murder"... oh, I'm so loving this story as the day passes -- so do update ASAP!

PS: my email address is violetjersey@gmail.com -- and the other novel I was referring to is Claire Marvel by John Burnham Schwartz. It's a pretty good and Claire is sort of like a "saner" version of Ginny in this fic! Also Asylum by Patrick McGrath! :D

Author's Response: My version of Pansy is usually a little more layered than JK's, and I tend to not have her as some kind of insipid Draco fangirl. I like my characters nice and complicated. :) As for the plot... I'll reveal enough in time. :D
Name: sweetpop reviewed Five - Discovery on Oct 22, 2007 08:20 pm
ohhhh! I love all the open possibilities you've got here! I also like it how Pansy and Draco seem to share an understanding that no one else would quite get =) Great stuff! xx

Author's Response: The story took a loooooooooooooooooong time for me to write. Heck, I didn't even have a title for it until I nearly finished it. So there was a lot time for the characters to really develop themselves and for the plot to spawn a few more layers to it. As much as there's also the fanon!Pansy that fawns all over Draco like some sort of a simpering ninny, I don't like that idea of her. I see her as a bit more complicated than that, and the closeness forced on the two of them likely did develop into some kind of friendship. It definitely gives them a unique understanding into each other that no one else would have. :)

Consider this a review for all of the chapters so far uploaded. This is one of those stories I keep coming back to the site to check on, hoping that it got updated in between me checking my email and typing in the site name. :-) It has so much potential because of the unusual way you directed the characters lives. I also love that you didn't start right out with Draco and Ginny falling immediately in love, or hating each other, which builds to love. Right now it seems to be somewhere in the middle, which I think is more realistic for where they are now. You have a great style of writing and I look forward to continuing this story and reading some of your others.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for your comments! I like taking my time with fics, so unless I try to make something deliberately short, I tend to ramble for a bit. :) With this story, tho, I really did need to take my time. There's no way they could have any kind of rapid relationship. Well, at least a loving or caring one. The relationship they do have right now is one of fascination and relative lack of pain more than anything else. They're both in a weird kind of headspace that won't allow for anything more just yet.

Whoa Pansy coming into the story. Whoaa

Author's Response: Well, she's not a complete psycho in this, so it's not necessarily a bad thing. :)

*Claps* Bravo!

Can't wait to read more of this great story! Draco has a bone to pick I love it! I like how Pansy reads Draco so clearly!

Good Luck! TTFN! ;)

Author's Response: I like how Pansy turned out. Even with her own traumatic history, she pulled through and surprisingly became much stronger for it. Being friends with Draco as long as she has means she knows what's on Draco's mind as soon as he does. :)
