Reviews For In My Life

And the courtship begins. *grins* It'll be an interesting change to see a sophisticated and mature Draco courting Ginny, as opposed to the many teen-aged attempts made in numerous other fics.

That piano recital was very well written; I felt the emotion through your writing. It was a very interesting way for Draco to open himself up to Ginny. I look forward to seeing how Ginny will deal with all the extra attention from Draco.

Hm, would Draco be sneaky enough to plant that particular song in the music player, so that he could get Ginny to dance? I wouldn't put it past him.

Oh, and before I forget - it was great to see Draco admitting to himself that he's falling in love. A very 'aww' moment. :D

Hope to read some more soon.

Author's Response:

You're too clever for me! But I won't say which comment I'm referring to, so as not to give anything away. ;)

On one hand, Draco is sophisticated and mature, but he is also in a totally new situation, so keep your eyes open. As usual, you picked out some of my favorite moments to mention. I'm glad you're still enjoying the story. I hope to update before too long. Thanks for taking the time (again) to review!

after reading a story by Lunaeyes who was giving credit to your terrific beta skills led me to remember what a terrific writer you also are - which made me check out this story. so sorry that i'm just reviewing for the first time because i love that this is fully compliant.

wow, draco is falling in love "for the first time" in his long life! i like seeing the vulnerable draco in stories, and you write it so well. the idea of them getting together this late in life is something new and interesting, i'm enjoying it. thanks for continuing to come up with wonderful fics, and the regular updates.

Author's Response: I'm glad that you are enjoying the story and it's concept so much! Draco really is vulnerable--he's being faced with something new when he least expected it. (So is Ginny for that matter!) Thank you for reading and for the review!

leaning casually on his cane *giggles* I can just picture him trying to look suave! He's certainly putting the effort in and he's determined to get what he wants ;) Poor Ginny, she seems a bit confused at the moment, but I'm sure she'll come around. After all, it would have been years since anyone paid her any romantic attention *g*

Author's Response:

It really has been a long time for Ginny, so it's no surprise that she might be a little skittish. She will definitely come around soon! She just needs a little time to adjust. And Draco hasn't forgotten how to look suave, at least most of the time! Thanks for the comments!

your story is very nice! i do believe that love...just happens, and age is irrelevant. you pictured them very nicely, with the dignity of age and the wisdom that comes with maturity.

Author's Response: Thank you very much! That's what I was hoping for, and I'm glad you see it that way. Thanks for reading and for the review!

Awww you brought back the akwardness of a Hogwart's crush all over again!

Author's Response: Well, it has been a very long time since either of them has tried dating. It's bound to be awkward! Thanks for reading!

I read this AGAIN and still found it funny :) Might Ginny be asking Draco to be her date for the wedding? Might she not ask him, and Draco brings her a corsage or summat anyway and wishes he a good time, and she takes him on a whim? Ah well :) I hope you're having a lovely holiday!

Author's Response: I'm glad you are still enjoying it! :) The wedding will certainly play a part in the story, but I'm not telling how! Thanks for reading--again!

Why do I get this feeling that Ginny is going to give Draco the strength to stand up to Justine? She's in serious need of being put in her place (preferably another planet or her grave).

I'm glad to see that Draco has come down off his high horse long enough to enjoy Ginny's company. I'm sure he's surprising himself.

Ginny is doing Draco wonders, challenging him in ways no one has in years and years. And she's finally found a friend who can understand her.

I can't wait to see more!

Author's Response: You're right that Ginny and Draco haven't had friends like each other in a very long time (if ever!). The pace of their relationship will pick up quite a bit as the story progresses. I hope you keep on enjoying it! Thanks for the review!

this is really good! its a really different approach to the draco/ginny ship and i find it extremely refreshing =]] have a good holiday!

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad that you are enjoying the story so far! I was hoping for something different. I hope you had a great holiday yourself!

Oh my, hand-holding! Their courting is going to be great! Hahahaha! And happy hols to you too!

Author's Response:

Their courtship will be a little out of the ordinary, I hope. :) Thanks for the comments!

Aww they held hands. That is so adorable. I just love the way they're becoming dependent on each other. True love is sure to blossom *g*

Author's Response: True love will certainly blossom, maybe even sooner than you think! *winks* Thanks for the comments!

"Draco moved as quickly as his bad knee would allow" that made me laugh out loud! You almost forget that they are ancient in this story...good dialogue tends to make you forget that sometimes.

Author's Response: Yes, they are old, but they're still quick-witted. (At least I try!) I'm glad you're enjoying the story so far. Thanks for the review!

oh how sweet! I love the way you are bringing out what they have become through their adventures in their past. It's lovely how you characterized them, I've fallen in love and soon (hopefully) they will too ;)

Author's Response:

Everyone is a product of their pasts, especially when they more than ninety years of past experiences! I'm glad you're enjoying the characterization, and hope that you will continue to do so once they fall in love (which will be soon!). Thank you very much for the review!

This was just wonderful! I loved Draco's petulant attitude to begin with *giggles* He's still a spoiled boy, but he's certainly met his match in Ginny :)

Author's Response: Yeah, Ginny won't put up with much of his spoiled brat behavior--but it's lots of fun to write! Thanks for the review!

Weird perspective, having them old...

Author's Response: Yes, it's different, isn't it? I like to think that love is still possible for the elderly, and this is one way to stay canon-compliant! Thanks for the comment!

Aw. That last scene created such a feeling of cosiness and comfort.

Heh, I like the persistent nature of Fanny & Violet. I've known a few people like them before and I commend you on how lifelike they are! Hehe, even if they do annoy the hell out of everyone.

At the start, Draco & Ginny seemed rather petulant about the seating and such, but I suppose it can be attributed to them being set in their ways. Or maybe just by their remembered animosity from their Hogwarts years. In any case, the banter was good to see.

Looking forward to the next chapter. :)

Author's Response: I've known some people like Fanny and Violet as well! I'm glad they came across realistically. Yes, Draco is set in his ways, but not so much as to not be willing to change them for a good reason. :) I hope to have the next chapter out relatively soon. Thanks for reading, and for the thoughtful review!

They're so cute! I'm really enjoying this story. You've set the pace and atmosphere of a retirement community very well (having spent three weeks in one back in March myself). I love that they'll be jockeying for the chair each morning (and I do recognize that scene!). I'm looking forward to the next chapter!

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm happy that you still like that scene now that it is in context. I hope to get the next chapter up relatively soon. Thanks for the review!

I really love this story, I have the best visuals of an old and gray Draco and Ginny...awesome idea. Looking forward to the up coming chapters.

Cute. I like to think that people can fall in love later in life. This is a sweet idea for a story.

Author's Response: I like to think so too. I'm glad you're enjoying it so far! Thanks for reading and for the review.

Lovely, again. I really liked Ginny's thoughts on sarcasm and how it was lost on Harry but appreciated with Draco.

And despite the fact that all of our characters are aged and a little fragile, your ending scene brought us full circle, back to the days of Hogwarts when Draco and Ginny couldn't have possibly had a chance. Things are a little different now, it seems.

Thanks for this chapter. It's spectacular.

Author's Response: I just have this picture in my mind of Ginny making a sarcastic comment, and Harry taking it at face value, but she can't bring herself to tell him, because he is trying to be nice. Draco won't make the same mistake. And yes, things are different in lots of ways now. It's amazing what seventy odd years can do! Thanks, as always, for your thoughtful review!
