Crap, I got a little happy and wasn't quite ready to hit submit yet... ok, so I guess I'm ok that you left it ambiguous because I know how I wanted it to end. I feel like this was a perfect compliment to the other piece, and you totally nailed all of the characters. The one from her kids totally broke my heart. I still don't know what to say.

I've read it twice now (in a row) and I still can't pick out which part I like best. It was absolutely perfect. I've already read that you're writing a follow-up that's due soon, so I won't beg for one (I did think about it though). This was just... I can't find the words. I loved it. It's the best thing I've read in a long, long time (fanfiction or not).

This is absolutely classic. I love the way that you managed to write it within the confines of canon, and keep everyone entirely in character, but still give us our D/G moment. My favorite things were the subtle details--things like Ginny not realizing that Draco hadn't made a mistake at Halloween, and more importantly, the fact that she was able to believe him depends on his wife resembling her so much. Or Draco's comment on coveting a co-worker's wife. Or Slughorn reaching for the candy, wanting refreshments while he watched the show. I love the recurring theme of genetics, and the way that the generations reflect each other. And that's just the beginning. Anyway, I think I will stop here. I bet it will take about ten more readings to really appreciate the story thoroughly, and I'll enjoy every one!

It is very interesting to read a Draco/Ginny fic that adheres to the epilogue. You've done it beautifully and poignantly without making it sappy and wistful. Awesomely well done.

A wonderful story. I love the characterisation of Draco; he's matured in some ways but still retained that appreciation for mischievousness that is prevalent in all Slytherins (and some Griffs too, it seems). It is rare to see a post-Hogwarts D/G fic that stays totally true to the characters in canon, especially since, if forced to admit it, I don't think that Ginny or Draco would commit adultery or risk hurting their children by divorcing their other halves. If only there was more to this story! I have very much enjoyed reading this.

In that mini confessional of Draco's to Ginny, I noticed that he mentioned being attracted to a co-worker's wife and it immediately struck me as a somewhat veiled mention of what he feels for Ginny. I like the idea of Draco wanting to let Ginny know what he's truly like and how he becomes truly saddened when she accuses him of committing crimes as a Death Eater.

I love this encounter, culminating in them kissing for the first and, unfortunately most probably, the last time. Draco's closing thoughts were a lovely up-lifting end on a rather abrupt exit by Ginny "..at least it was the sweetest kiss he could remember. It would be enough."

This story is definitely going to be added to my favourites list. :) Happy Christmas!

Oh, that reminds me, I'm curious as to why Ginny was sending Draco Christmas cookies in March.

Author's Response: What a fabulous, thoughtful review! *glomps* First, Ginny sent the cookies at Christmas- they just hadn't exchanged correspondence since then, so he had no chance to thank her.

This was meant to be as canon as I could make it, right down to their characters' morals, and I agree- dropping their spouses and upending their families to be together isn't canonically realistic. Draco was indeed talking about Ginny in the 'coveting a co-worker's wife' speech in his own roundabout way. Ginny has more of a smash-you-over-the-head syle than Draco's veiled allusions.

You may be interested to hear that I'm doing a second chapter because of all the requests; it'll be up around New Year's. Happy holidays to you as well!

I am basically in love with this story. It's so plausible! I love how you incorporated elements from the Epilogue into this story and still made it work! Great Job!
