"Watching them dance, the youngest male Weasley found himself remembering a sunny afternoon on the platform 9 3/4, when Draco Malfoy, with tears in his eyes, had asked him take care of Ginny."

I pretty much broke down at that sentence xD Lovely chapter! I thought the Mohawk bit was great...I really liked your descriptions of it (before he want to the ball and when he showed up at Ginny's door). Keep up the excellent work. Can't wait for the next update!

Author's Response:

Hey dollybelle! Thanks so much for your review! I'm glad that you liked the chapter! And the Mohawk...sigh...:D
That sentence that made you sniffly, I took it from a very sad scene in the final chapter of my FIRST EVER D/G story, to which this fic is the sequel. That first story...gosh, the grammar is HORRIBLE (I was fifteen, sixteen, at the time) but it makes everybody cry! I cried when I wrote the final chapter, and the ending was very sad, which is why I HAD to write a sequel, and though THIS fic is bittersweet, I swore there'd be a happy ending! And there will be!

Anyway, I'm going to post that bit of "platform 9 3/4" scene for you, so you get a sense of what Ron was remembering when he saw Ginny and Draco dance:

(Draco had just said goodbye to Ginny at the end of his sixth year and her fifth.)"Out in the platform, Draco observed the people there through wet eyes, looking for a certain platinum blond not unlike himself. Not seeing Lucius, he hastened to wipe at his eyes and run after a head of bright red hair in the crowd.
“Weasley!” he said when he caught up to Ron, who was, for once, not flanked by his two best friends.
Ginny’s brother turned and took in his flushed cheeks and his suspiciously moist silver eyes with one swift glance, but said nothing.
“Take care of her…” Draco said finally, meeting Ron’s eyes.
It was the first time Ron had seen anything other than coldness in Draco’s eyes. And he had never expected it would be immense sorrow he would find there. Ron, who really was more simple-hearted than he appeared, was moved. “I will,” he answered solemnly, meeting the Slytherin’s eyes.
“I’m to become a Death Eater,” Draco continued, his tone hollow.“ You must not let her try to find me, or contact me in any way.” Even as he spoke, a mask of cool indifference had settled itself on his exquisite features, but Ron would later remember the completely human expression of suffering he had seen in him before. “Already her life is in danger, and that of your family is too,” Draco finished, glancing at Ron now with disdain.
Shaken both by his honesty and his words, Ron nodded once, and turned away at the same time the fair-haired Slytherin did. Moments later he turned back, compelled by something he didn’t quite understand, and watched as Draco walked up to his father, who clad entirely in black, was standing with his arms crossed, wearing exactly the same expression Draco had exhibited only moments ago.
Shuddering somewhat involuntarily, Ron turned away and set out to look for Ginny."

Aww, yay! We're finally getting somewhere! :)

This chapter had me teary, seriously. Particularly loved this bit:
"Unbeknown to them, all who saw them were amazed at how good they looked together, despite how sharply they contrasted: His dark robes looked even more sinister against the pure white of her gown, and she in turn looked even more angelic trapped in his embrace.

However, with his pale blond hair and exceptional beauty, and her fiery red mane of hair, tumbling down her back, shining red and orange in the light, the roles could have easily been inverted: he an angel held in thrall by the devil herself."

Beautiful, please update again soon! :)

Author's Response: Yeah, we're getting there! Only two more chapters left, too! :D
Wow, you know, it's great to hear you got sniffly! From someone who's probably read tons and tons of D and G, that's a big compliment! ^_^ Thanks so much. I'm glad you liked this it! Things will get exciting in the next one! You know how fun their dates are...;p

Beautiful!??! I have to admit, I also kept hearing "So Close" from the Enchanted OST during their dance -- and the kiss -- perfect!! thanks so much! This was so worth the long wait!

Author's Response: Thank you!!! ^_^ Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it! The fact that you had your own soundtrack playing in your head...NICE. *BEAMS*

where have you been I thought I was clear about LOVING this story. So Kanye was a wizard? Probably a pureblood with this attitude ha ha. Their kiss was beautiful. I can't wait for their date!

Author's Response: I'm sorry about the delay!  >_<
lol, of course Kanye is a wizard! Anybody who is unexplicably successful has to have SOME sort of magic about them! Don't get me wrong, he rocks but his attitude STINKS. Anyway, yeah. Glad you liked the kiss! I PROMISE a speedy update! Thanks for reviewing :D

Damm he's also a natural story teller, tell me is there something in this world where Draco isn't simply perfect?!?.
That said again, I am guilty for loving your smutiness!
Best line for me "What a beautiful day for a shag". So crude!

Author's Response: Draco ISNT perfect! He's arrogant, selfish, snarky, slutty...need I go on? And yet, I still want him to keep. :D *SIGH* ;P

oh no! i didn't realise this was a wip when i started reading. and now i'm hooked! i think this is a lovely story, and different from all the memory loss fics i've read so far. i'm really enjoying your portrayal of both ginny and draco, and your descriptions of characters, places, events - everything - is quite wonderful.

do you post your stories elsewhere, like livejournal for example? it'd be much easier to keep track of updates that way ;)

Author's Response:

Hey there!

Wow, that was a beautiful review, thanks so much! Your compliments really mean a lot to me, you totally made my day. ^_^

I don't post at livejournal -though I do have an account at ff.net- but I totally recommend you hang around here. I don't let more than a week go by without updating, and the quality of what I post here is by far superior to my work elsewhere, I'm ashamed to admit. Bear with me, and trust me, it's better here! LOL. Meanwhile, I do have some other fics up, and I think you'd like those, as well! Can I persuade you to read those while I update? ;)

Yay, an update! This was a lovely chapter, the Ron/Hermione interaction was sweet and even though I hate it when authors describe the clothes their characters are wearing in too much detail, the image of Draco in Jeans and Converse shoes is rather hot, I must say. But isn't it a bit out of character for him to wear muggle clothes from head to toe?

Author's Response:

Hey L! Thanks for taking the time to review! I'm glad you liked the chapter, and it's nice to hear I am capable of Ron/Hermione sweetness even when I hate that pairing! I think they're all wrong for each other! LOL.
Anyway, glad you liked the mental eye candy :D You're right in the sense that normally it would be OOC for Draco to dress like a Muggle, but, as you'll see in the next chapter, there have been a lot of changes in the wizarding world after the war. There's a new Muggle-loving Prime Minister of Magic, and he's steering society towards these changes. Draco woke up from a coma, he's not really paying mind to these things. In many senses he's just "going with the flow", and as you'll see in further chapters, it's fashionable to dress like that. ^_^
Again, this is not something you could have known just from reading up to now, so it was a good question. Very observant!
I hope you'll be a bit tolerant of my love of detail! I paint mental images almost obsessively and always describe hair and clothes, especially for the next chapter, which is the Ministry party! ^_^

I don't think this is anything like the other memory loss stories out there. I am absolutely captivated by it and I can't wait for you to update. It's just so moving that at times I was crying in happiness or sadness. Very good!

Author's Response:

Oh WOW. I wish you could have seen my face when I read this. It was something like: O_O
What an AWESOME review you have just given me, my friend. THANK YOU!
You just totally made my day. I'm going to print this one and put it in my wallet, for when I need to smile goofily. Thanks so much ^_^

I'm really enjoying this story, but out of curiosity, why do you have the opening quote for this chapter as from 'Cyrano de Bergerac'? I'm pretty sure it was said by the butterfly in 'The Last Unicorn' by Peter S. Beagle.

Author's Response:

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to review. ^_^

In answer to your question I confess I'm not at all familiar with 'The Last Unicorn'. I know this quote from Edmond Rostand's drama, in which Cyrano de Bergerac is a character hopelessly in love with Roxanne. Cyrano was a real person, but as far as I know he wasn't nearly as interesting as literature makes him out to be: a passionate hook nosed duelist with the tendency to spout poetry at every turn. He DID have an uncommony large nose, but he never participated in a duel. ^_^

Anyway, yeah, I'm glad you're enjoying it. Don't be a stranger! ;p

Fantastic, incredible, astonishing, remarkable, wonderful!!!! I had to use a thesaurus to describe your work because d#mn there are no words. I love your imagery. Their interaction is priceless. The massage and date part of the story were probably my favorite. Thank you for the quick updates.

Author's Response: GAH! THAT WAS AN INCREDIBLE REVIEW! I'm sorry to scream at you, lol, but I'm still like this O_O. Thanks so much!!! You just totally made my night! I'm so happy! *does little dance* :D

you're getting better at this. you should keep writing or fans might send ridiculous reviews saying that you should write more or else...XD
I do love this story! is soo cool...and again, the way they interact...is almost as if I'm watching they're every move together, it's great! write some moore, pleaaseee...pretty please? =D

Author's Response:

Thank you! I was so happy to hear that you feel like you're almost watching things happen, because that is exactly what I'm aiming for! I see the images so clearly in my mind, and I'm trying my best to describe that! I'm obsessed with details, lol. Thanks so much for your review! I will try to update soon as to avoid death threats! hehehe. :D

I know the plot has been done, but your story is immaculately written. I remember reading the same basic idea, but your story will stick out in my mind as an outstanding story! I love the Draco in this!! Can't wait for more... no hurry or anything. just saying lol :)

Author's Response:

Wow, thank you for that wonderful review! :D

I have to tell you, I was naive enough to believe that this plot hadn't been done; I've never read an HP memory loss fic, but if only through logic I really should have known better! I'm glad you think that despite the "done-ness" of the plot, this one sticks out. ^_^ I have the advantage of having written an epic D/G fic (to which this is the sequel) called "Ginny the Dragon Slayer", which is all about how they got together in Hogwarts four years before this plot. And that's where all the convenient flashbacks are coming from. I have a good foundation, I guess. ;)

I'm always happy to receive compliments on my Delicious Draco. He is (along with Lucius and Snape) my favorite character in HP, and I LOVE writing him! Anyway, I'll stop babbling now! I just wanted to say THANK YOU for that AMAZING review! I'm totally beaming! :D
