I'm so sorry that I took this long to post a reply to your sweet review... Thank you for all your kind words!

Unfortunately, along with my thanks, I must give you a sad bit of news: By Firelight is on hiatus indefinitely, and I don't believe it will be coming out of that state anytime soon. The truth is, I've made a transition away from Harry Potter fanfiction to something a little more modern/active/realistic. I speak of the TV show, Glee. In fact, I'm in the process of writing a Glee fanfiction now...

To tell you the truth, the reason I didn't respond for so long was because I didn't really know how to say all of that... I hope you're not angry... It couldn't be helped... There hasn't been new HP canon in four years, after all, and the next season of Glee starts in September. I may post my new Glee story on Fanfiction dot net when it's done, so keep an eye out if you're still interested in reading my fanfics. I'll use the same pen name, too.

I really like this story, it's very well written...

It truly shows Draco's perspective of things. Ron's behavior is starting to grate on my nerves though. It almost makes me think he's gonna do something really bad.

I find this story to be truly a nice change of pace. Particularly when one considers that a lot of fanfiction stories are solely based on the perspective of the good side.

I'm enjoying the interaction between Ginny and Draco immensely. Their friendship is truly bittersweet, cuz they're forging a connection in such a hostile environment.

Sorry for the long review... But I'm excitedly waiting for further chapters.

I loved the beginning of the flashback. It has so much depth, and I really could feel for Draco. His emotions came across very strongly.

Oh wow we are going to find out details.I cant wait till the next update.

Yes, poor Draco... But as for Minerva, she was mentioned as having improved in the first paragraph of the chapter. Anyway, I'll do my best to have Ron tossed in a hole. (Kidding! Sorry...)

I really like the start of this story. The relationship between Draco and Narcissa is really, really strongly written and I love them. Also, I love how they came to the Burrow. It's a very good plot so far. However, I feel like there's a chapter missing between this and the last one. Last chapter (yesterday in the story) Ginny just gets past hating Draco after seeing him talk to her mother, the "in love with him" is a bit of a stretch here. I feel like I totally missed some major plot development, to the point that I went back to re-read the last chapter to see if I overlooked a section. How did she realize that the Dark Mark still hurt him, and why would she feel compelled toheal him? That was kind of ok to overlook, but then to go to Hermione saying Ginny's in love with him? There were absolutely no indicators, except that she seems fascinated by him so far, since she's watching him. It's kind of a far stretch with no explanation. Sorry, but the story is quite good, just that this seems to be a gap that really bothered me.

I'm sorry it took me a few days to get back to you... The truth is, I wasn't sure what to post for a reply.

By now, Hermione's accusation in #13 is my least favorite line in the story. I thought it would work, but so many people have said it confuses them that I'm preparing to rewrite that part of the chapter, along with heavily editing the first few chapters for length and description. I might edit the rest of the story, too, but we'll see how the first two goals go. Meanwhile, thank you for reviewing, and I hope you can keep reading the story despite that awkward line. It's not all like that, I promise. :)

So far every chapter has been about the Malfoys proving themselves trustworthy. I know that it's important, but it's kind of getting repetitive.
