Bravo!!! This is so well thought out and very well written. It has some points I had not considered, even though I think the pairing is a great one. I hope it goes this way in the books, but we can only wait to see. Good job here!!!

hey, i've read your essay before but it's only now that i'm reviewing it because of the message you posted in the dracoginnyfanfic group and i wanted you to know that i feel the same way...i really can't see Ginny with Neville or Harry because then that pairing would just be too...bland...also Draco and Ginny complement each other very well and i do think that they would be good for each other and all they need is one another...they both need healing and in ways they are the same...maybe no one really understands them and they're usually stereotyped...Draco as an obnoxious prat while Ginny the shy insignificant girl...i believe that there's more to them than just what they seem...Draco, growing up the way he did must have had a tough life and he just doesn't know how to express what he feels and Ginny, after the chamber i don't believe she can be just a naive girl after going through something like that...That's how i feel... There's really a possibility that they could end up together because nothings definite yet...i could only hope that Ms. Rowling would see that...if ever something otherwise would be said in the future books i would still support this ship! Coz for me Draco and Ginny really are meant to be!

This is about the best essay I've ever read on why two people in the HP fandom should be together. I think I'll send a link to my best friend; maybe it'll make her a believer...

This is so good. I also ship D/G but I'm a bigger H/Hr shipper. This is so good. I can't believe you went so in-dept with it. Bravo! Love it!

This is an excellent essay! You did an awesome job explaining the characters and the ship, such an in depth look. You really make some good points!

Long, long essay about the D/G paring, and I love it! It's completely believable and you rely on the canon facts. Good job.

The Draco/Ginny pairing really appeals to me and I get a lot of slack for that from my friends. It's so good to see someone explain it, coherently and intelligently, and I'm going to direct all of my friends straight to this essay! And the way you put it, it really does make sense. And I love your really deep look at their characters.

Wow, what a great essay! For some reason, I completely forgot how close Ginny seems to be with the twins. And if you think about it, it does make much more sense. Why would she want to hang around with Ron, who just wants to hang out with his friend? You hardly ever see Ron hanging out with any of his siblings inside school. I've always been a D/G shipper (except for this little phase I went through in the beginning where I was a H/G shipper) and you explained it way better than I have ever been able to. Great job!

Great Essay! The one thing I have to say is about Ginny and the twins. One thing you forgot was that during the CoS they kept trying to cheer her up by playing practical jokes. I just thought about that. P.S. I love your stories!

Wow, that was a really great essay. I have always been a Harry/Ginny shipper till now, even though I enjoy reading fanfic about Draco/Ginny. That paragraph about why Harry & Ginny don't work out totally changed my mind though. It definitely wouldn't work out. Again, this was a great essay!!!

this essay is great. you should think about sending this to JK. maybe she didn't consider the possibility of Draco & Ginny yet. but even if D&G won't be paired in the future books, i'm sure that i'll get my fill from great writers like you. ;)

i am very fond of d/g fics but i can never find a reason of why they should be together. i think their might be a chance of them getting together, or atleast of draco going to the 'light' side in the books because rowling gives very subtle hints for the future and your essay explains it very clearly. your essay is a very deep and i think it is important for all d/g writers to read it before embarking on a fic. i hope rowling will get to read it as well and who knows, maybe she will get them together? -- wishful thinking hehe;)

Fabulous, absolutley fabulous! I've never seen such a well thought out essay for D/G. I was just thinking that a wonderful little plot turn for JK R would be to put these two together. How much of a shock would that be? hehe, wishful thinking I know!

Amen, sister! :P Very, very nice article, and not at all long-winded. Anything less, and you couldn't do the ship justice ;)

That was great. I am of course a D/G shipper too. You make some interesting points. There's one thing that you said about salazar not letting anyone of impure blood into his house because Tom Riddle was in slytherin and he was halfblood. I've often wondered about this, are there others and I think there are. The reason I'm bringing this up and as everyone knows J.K. Rowling writes the unexpected. Ron and Herimone may end up together it certainly seems that way but really who knows. I don't think Harry and Ginny will end up together because Ron hinted that he would like them to get together. I do not know if it will ever happen in the book but I do think it possible that Draco and Ginny could become a couple. After book five, the way I see it Draco could go down one of two seprate paths, The evil Draco out for revenge over what happened to his father. or typical slytherin Draco after finding out about lucius being caught and put in azkaban realize his father was on the losing side and decide to fight against Voldemort, if for nothing more than the shame his father bought to their family. I hope it's the latter. If that's the way of it would be highly probable that they would get together. Their both purebloods, their families are connected yet hate each other, Ron gets extremely angry at malfoy that has come in to play in the future, inter-house relations are wanted, Ginny has been the only girl born to the weasleys for several generations, and It's not expected. Your essay is wonderful. It even got me to write a long winded and boring review. But anyway I think you are Right and thank You.

*claps* I'm happy I finally got a chance to read this, I've been wanting to. I agree 100%. You actually brought up several points that I have thought myself in my own D/G support, and some I didn't even consider, so bravo. ^_^

I must say, Sharlene, that was an excellent answer (and observation of all books). Have you studied Psychology or something.Maybe you mentioned it somewhere, but hey... It's 3 am where I live. I'm tired :P. I really get to Ginny now. Because she never did strike me as shy, just out of sight (of Harry's sight). Now I know how to place Ginny's character. And Draco... I don't think he's all goody-good inside and the rest is a tough shell, he is just simply Draco and he will always have that attitude (I know always is a big word). I have tried to figure out why he is the way his is, every solution I have come up with don't seem right. This however seem very right and logical. I don't believe in absolut evil, if anyone would be that it would be the guy in hell. But I don't believe in him either so *smile* (Note: If you believe in the fallen angel lucifer-devil he was an ANGEL. That's proof enough that you cannot be all -to the bone - evil.) Hitler was surely in pain, an truely evil man don't just give up his plan to kill himself. He was disturbed or something, if he wasn't "evil" he would be a great leader. Voldemort is quite obvious that he is not all evil. Well I will shut up now. I still loved the text. Do I have permission to use some of this information to explain something if needed? /Hanna, SWEDEN

Do you that this pairing will happen in canon? Some of your points were really interesting to read. Especially the part about Draco being more of a prankster than a "hitlers youth." However maybe J.K hasn't taken that into account? Maybe he will become a DE because of his upbringing?! I don't know. But I do enjoy characters that are not always noble and just and good like Harry. Yah Draco. He's not perfect but I enjoy the humor put into it. I hope J.K gives him some character growth and depth though. I also hope for a Draco/Ginny pairing! Just don't let it be Harry/Ginny. Its oddly cheesy.

Great essay, Mynuet!! :) You lay out all the logical reasons for a.)rather more character depth for Draco than a casual reading of canon leads one to believe and b.) rational D/G, based on something other than our rabid desires to believe it could happen. Sigh. Also, you make me feel embarassed for not having finished the Draco/HBP essay yet. I did print out what I have and I'm taking notes. :)

wow! i don't think i've ever thought that deeply about any pairing before! but then again i don't think i've evr thought that deeply before! however if i already didn't like d/g i would certainly be convinced! what job do you do?

It did make sense to me. I don't quite agree with your interpretation of Draco, but I understand it, and it does plausibly explain why he and Ginny could be compatible. I do agree with your interpretation of Ginny, and I think your reasoning is quite sound. I've been wanting a good defense of this couple, and yours is admirable :)
