Ha. Well, I would guess Astoria, except that the crackling and crooning kind of leads me to believe that it's someone older. Clearly, this fic has to be a characters-who-kicked-the-bucket-in-canon-AU to some extent (I really like those:) simply because Snape's still alive, so my guess is... Bellatrix.
Anyway, I love this chapter! One of the best reasons to explore what would have happened if certain characters hadn't been killed off is to see what the effect would have been on *other* characters, and it's clear that Snape had to be some kind of father figure to Draco in canon (not that this was ever explored... oh, don't get me started.) So I love the fact that you're taking that path. More soon!

[squeal] Sorry, I totally had a fangirl moment! :D Great guess, btw.. ;) I really do love the whole Snape-as-father thing, considering Lucius was a mental case and a tyrant in my eyes... and Narcissa liked him, and even depended on him at some point... Anyway, Iwas glad to see you updated! I really enjoyed the chapter and your Draco was great.He would just go to try and find out about what happened to Snape without telling Ginny anything.

I can totally see him as this sort of intense, completely focused person, and for a while now, Ginny has been just an object to him...for NOW, that is.. :)

Ahem, anyway. Great chapter! First part I was just smiling away to myself as I pictured Draco all wet and sexy after a shower. Yum. Of course, then he had to go and ruin the image for Ginny -- and me -- by opening his mouth. How inconsiderate of him.
I see the mystery is taking away. I do wonder what Snape has to do with all of this. I look forward to the next chapter.

I looooooved Draco in the beginning...but of course, it was too good to be true, as he just HAD to talk.. :P It is extremely inconsiderate, is it not? lol :) As for your guess.. ;) I'm glad you like it and are looking forward to the next chapter! Most of it has been written already, just being beta'd and reworked..so hopefully the wait shouldn't be forever... :D Thanks so much! :)
