This was so...wow! I love the concept of reincarnation and finding love again, you did a great job. Thanks for writing this fic!

Author's Response: Thanks! :) This one has always been one of my favorites, and I'm so glad to see that people are still reading it.

Quite crazy, which I know I don't like, but I always continue with it. I'm glad I stuck it out cause I like the ending :) Very well written, well done!

Author's Response: Thanks! :) I liked the ending too... a little unusual for a D/G fic, but it's important to try new things, I think.

Yay! It's finally posted! And I absolutely love it. I love this future world you concocted too, and you gave just enough details about it so that it wasn't hard to imagine but still quite intriguing. Nicely done without resorting to an infodump. I found myself wanting to know more about this futuristic HP-setting. Also, it was awesome how you tied in the title at the end.

Author's Response: Thanks! :) Mm... the future of D/G was fun to write. I think that they go up in their own private bathysphere, and the octopi get quite an eyeful.

I was not expecting that at all for the epilogue, but I liked it. It was nice to see a happy ending to such a dark, sad story. I really enjoyed this whole story and your take on it. Wonderful writing, Anise, as always :)

Author's Response: Thanks! :) Yes, the epilogue turned out to be a little... different. But it just shows that D/G devotion can last through time and space. ;) (There actually may be undersea life on Enceladus... nobody knows.)

i was crying when ifinish reading it, it is so sad and happy and beautiful...
Are you going to still finisdh your work on DG at soem stage or complete move to DeathTrain project? I have looked at the website and will keep an eye on theupdates there:)

Author's Response: I really do think I'll finish the D/G work. Death Train is... sort of based on my fanfics, but it's gotten to be so different. D/G continues to be my inspiration! :)

what a powerful and emotional chapie... happy that ginny move one, found happiness w/ blaise.. sad that d/g were together but they were spirit..

Author's Response: Thanks! I think this was a very mixed ending in terms of emotions, but I also think it's a happy one. And the epilogue is coming soon!

Yes, epilogue, yes! Even without it, wow what an ending. This was such an emotional read and such a fitting conclusion to Rinney's story. I'll admit I did shed a tear. Tragic, but not utterly so, and very much poignant.

Things I especially liked in terms of the writing was the cadence you maintained with your phrasing that really effectively mirrored Draco's madness and state of mind. Great job on the imagery as well. It's crisp and effective. Overall, a terrific job with extending the story of the mad but awesome Draco and Ginny that Rinney crafted.

Author's Response: Thanks SO much! The epilogue is actually coming very soon... almost all of it is done. I REALLY don't know what people will think of it, but it's something different, for sure!
Name: SunnyStorms reviewed Chapter 2 on May 17, 2012 09:22 pm
You had me really going this chapter. For a bit I was like: *gasp* what if this is all in Draco's head?? What would that mean?? He's certainly mad enough to make something like that plausible.

You did a great job with maintaining the suspense throughout. It's just chilling and engrossing and makes you really want to find out what happens next.

Author's Response: I completely spaced out on replying to these particular reviews... but better late than never! :) I could see the all-in-his-head option as being a possible one, for sure. In that case, he'd probably be in the asylum alongside Ginny. :P But I think this one was more interesting to write. :)

Ginny reminds me of Drusila from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Author's Response: Thanks! :) Um... I never actually watched the show. But I looked her up on Wikipedia. Everything's on there... Anyway, I hope you enjoy the rest!

I'm so happy you decided to do a companion fic as I was absolutely engrossed by Rolling In the Deep and was really curious about what would happen next. This is a great beginning that stays really true to the DG that Rinney depicted. Such raw emotions are displayed, and I love those moments that show Draco's vulnerability amidst the control he's trying to exert over Ginny.

Author's Response: Thanks SO much! :) I really felt that it was important to stay true to the Draco and Ginny that we had at the end of RitD. Draco is teetering right on the edge here, in particular. There's no way to look at what might have happened and get fluffy fluff out of it (IMHO,) but I DO think that a happy ending is possible (not giving anything away. ;)

This story is so oddly beautiful, and sad, and crazy... I don't know how to explain it exactly but... Please poset the Epilogue soon!!! I can hardly wait. You're a WONDERFUL writer btw!!

Author's Response: Thank you! :) Yes, those are good words to describe the fic, I think... that's the way I think of Rinney's RitD, too. The epilogue's coming soon...

BEAUTIFUL and insane -- I love it.

Draco realizing he had gone insane and what he had to do was absolutely brilliant. I love his dilemma where he had to choose who would die. The fact that he chose himself means that there was some bit of feeling and lucidity that he had buried in there somewhere, right? I love how he continued to watch her throughout her life, and I also loved how Ginny saw Draco in the past as a different person, because he was. Then, the fact that the curse had repercussions -- brill! Oh, so so so wonderful.

Can't wait for the epilogue! :)

Author's Response: Yay! Thank you. :) I think that the man who Draco potentially could have become was always buried somewhere in him-- the question was whether this bit of him would win out in the end, or if it would be the madness he'd clung to for so long. As we saw, the good and loving part of him won through. Now, the epilogue... I doubt *anyone* will guess exactly how it plays out. But it's coming soon!

You better make that epilogue!

I've been so busy with work and real life, I didn't have time to review. But oh my goodness. I love what you have done with the companion fic. I love your take on how Rolling in the Deep came to this conclusion. Its all stuck in my head now, I can't imagine it to be any other way!

I guessed correctly, by the way, about Ginny's "first lover". I thought that it was something about the current Draco being the Draco she didn't remember back in their Hogwarts years, as that Draco was much, much kinder and innocent in comparison to Cursed!Draco. I nearly cried when Draco sacrificed himself in order to save them both from the dark curse, and I nearly bawled when he watched her grow from his spot in the sky. (He was in the sky, wasn't he?)

I can't wait to read the epilogue chapter. This was just soooo good. T__T!

Author's Response: The epilogue's about half done... so it's DEFINITELY on its way. SO glad you're liking the way this fic is turning out! :) I didn't know if you'd guessed the meaning of what Ginny said correctly, but I thought you had... and sure enough, you did. (Hands Rinney the Psychic Reviewer Crown. This one has tanzanite, but it can be customized.) I think where this entire plot actually came from was the question of whether there was any realistic way to get a "happy" ending out of it. You wrote such perfect angst that I really couldn't think of how it could happen in Draco and Ginny's lifetimes. But it occurred to me that this span of time wasn't necessarily the only one available. What else... well, it's hard to say where people literally end up while waiting to see if they've reached Nirvana yet, but Draco did experience the afterworld as taking place in the sky, up in the stars. And that epilogue. Well, the meaning of the title of the fic will finally become clear. That's all I'll say! ;)

Author's Response: Thanks! There's still the epilogue to come... I hope you like that too. :)

Oh, wow. This is pretty heavy. I absolutely love the way Ginny's madness is being portrayed here. In the original, we only got to see the tip of the iceberg, and I'm so glad to see it expanded on. I also like what you're doing with Draco here. Although he's definitely crazy, his madness doesn't even touch Ginny's! I can't wait for the last chapter! :)

Author's Response: Thanks! SO glad you like the sheer craziness of it all.. ;) The thing about this Draco is that he doesn't (yet, anyway) really understand that he's nuts. Ginny does know. The last chapter will be a wild and bumpy ride... and I think I can safely say that NOBODY will guess how it all ends.

Ah, this makes me sad.

Author's Response: I agree. The D/G relationship is pretty tragic by this point. But there's still a loooooong chapter to go... ;)

Looking forward how D/G's realtionship play , in upcomig chapters! First chapter was great as usual, Anise!!!!

Author's Response: Thanks! :) Their relationship is really key here, but I'm going to warn you... it gets a little weird. Okay, more than a little weird. But fascinating, I think. ;)

Oh. My. Gooooooooooooooooood.

Three chapters you said? Oh my goodness, Anise. This is starting off so wonderfully! I must say that you've taken my Draco and you're bringing him to the heights of lunacy I imagined and more. His obsession is so real and so thriving, its nearly terrifying. No, forget that. It is terrifying. I fear for my little Ginny all over again.

I really love how well you're playing their madness as well. Ginny may as well have been slapped with a Confundus charm, but what made my heart stop for that moment was when she confessed that he wasn't her first lover. I think, I think I know where you're going with that, but I'm going to hold my breath and see what comes next from it.

I will be reviewing every chapter, of course. This looks amazing so far!

@ humaria: I'm not trying to shamelessly promote my fic here, but it would really help if you did take the time to read it. Anise touched on a lot of some snippets from Rolling in the Deep, but you wouldn't understand how they did end up at this point less you want to take the time to read the first fic. =) Her fic's really good enough to where it could stand alone, however, if you just want to read the story where it starts from Crazy Point A and continues on down the line. If it helps, Rolling is only 8 chapters long. =)

Author's Response: Thanks! Yay! (Does the Happy Original Author Likes the Companion Fic dance.) I do think that Draco has *pretty much* completely lost his sanity here. But there are still a few things... one thing that really stuck in my mind from RItD (well, the way I interpreted this, anyway) was that Draco could have killed Colleen when he took Ginny from the hospital. It would have been safer to take care of the problem that way. But he didn't, and I think it was because Ginny was watching him. Also, he was smart enough to hide them both at Malfoy Manor, betting that whatever the Ministry had done would be meaningless because the house would recognize him as the heir. So he wouldn't qualify for an insanity defense (those are really hard to get, btw.)

Now, if anybody can guess where this is headed, it's you. ;) But I *will* say that Draco was indeed Ginny's first. (although as we now know, she wasn't his.) There are a lot of mysteries and lies in MoS, but that's not one of them. So the obvious question is: why did Ginny get confused? Was it only because Draco drove her all the way into madness and she's confused about everything, or is it for some other reason? (shakes crystal ball) Something tells me that some answers are coming soon...

Ahhh! I beta read Rolling in the Deep, and so I knew and loved that fic dearly, twisted as it was. I am sooo excited to read this companion fic. It's equally as disturbing and dark, and the characterizations were spot-on. Ooohh, I'm so excited! :) :)

Author's Response: Thanks! (Does the Happy Companion Fic dance.) I LOVE that you think the characterizations are right-- it was really important to not try to make Draco look less crazy and sinister, or Ginny less disturbed. That being said, I think that what triggered this fic in the first place was the question of if there was any way for there to be a different kind of ending, given who Draco and Ginny are here. So they told me what actually happened, and then-- there's that white van again! And they have the straitjackets! More soon. :)

hmmm. this is very creepy. draco sounds like he's crazy, like he's starved for affection. he constantly asks for her approval and i'm really curious to know what ginny is really thinking and feeling. ginny is obviously very disconnected. i wonder what their past was like and why they ended up here.

i guess i have to read rinney's fic, but i'm afraid it has an unhappy ending.

Author's Response: Draco is nuts nuts NUTS here, for sure. As for what Ginny's thinking... we'll find out more about that in the 2nd chapter. And yes, there WILL be only 3 chapters!! I really recommend that people read Rinney's fic, because it's a great fic, and it does provide a background. But I think that MoS makes sense without it, too.
