Author's Response: Mmm... not really (related to the other ones, I mean.) Except that all of my Dracos and Ginnys (Ginnies?) are versions of each other.

It was so nice to read two new chapters at once.
And I can't even begin to guess what is going on and what makes all the people and places disappear. But I do think that it has something to do with that dream yhat Draco and Ginny share tht offers them a choise. It's like they are both stuck and finally making that choise will take them forvard. Mybe the people who disappear are those who made the choice and moved on. That doesn't explain the places though. Also this theory sounds s if those people are dead.
And there is the link to Voldie that Draco and Ginny both share.
I'm glad they found Luna!

Aaaagggh, this is so.... okay, I love brainstorming when I read a fic and it doesn't happen too oftenly, lately. But this fic is making my brain cells working full time!
Right now, I'm 99% sure that this world Ginny and Draco are in ISN'T the real wizarding world. The real world is the one Draco "dreams about", with Voldemort. He never escaped him. Which makes me wonder if the real world isn't happening right now, in Hogwarts, during the final battle? That could explain people vanishing right and left (those who die vanish? and like in the Langoliers, geographic places also vanish? I thought about the Langoliers, while reading this fic, not sure why, I never really understood that movie and I only saw it once maybe 10 years ago). Some people, like Ginny and Draco and maybe Luna are either dying or having NDE and TPTB (not Voldemort), in charge, like the Egyptians believed, of weighting people's lives, their good deeds, their bad deeds, everything about their souls, are not... in agreement over what to do with Ginny and Draco. Some could want them to die, go into the light, and other think they have another option and can go on, go back to Earth and live again.
Luna, same thing.
I thought about your answer to my review, about how there's someone important we are not seeing in this fic, I wonder who that could be. Blaise? Harry? Another person but who?
Well, if this is a NDE, I'm kind of glad that Harry doesn't seem to count. Maybe with a NDE, people go back to what's essentials and crushing on a boy just for his fame isn't essential while you're navigating the river of death. And maybe a NDE allowed Ginny to break the brainwashing she has been forced into since she was a foetus (come on, I bet Molly started telling tales of HP to her daughter while she wasn't even born, brainwashed, as I said).

It's kind of like a Zumba class... ) I love your theories (and the image of poor embryonic Ginny being brainwashed about Harry. ;) Some of the ideas are closer than others, but there's ONE point where you're kind of circling around the answer. The only thing I'll say is that the inspiration came for this fic right after watching the DHII movie. More soon....

Author's Response: Thanks! Yep, it seems like I just can't stay away from D/G. BUT... the characters in *Death Train* really are my Draco and my Ginny. Clearly not the canon ones or even vaguely related to them, but that's where they came from.

Author's Response: Thanks! :) I think that all of my Dracos are just a little bit different. This one reacted to his parents' deaths by retreating into himself a lot, and the fact that nobody he meets in wizarding society trusts him has emphasized this even more. Anyway, more soon...

Hmmm, so not only people are vanishing, but shops, too? And what about Draco's dreams about Voldemort? What's this about second chances? What if the real world was the one where Draco wasn't let go by Voldemort and what he dreams is... the second chance Voldemort mentioned? and every time Draco remembers the real world, people from this world he believes real are vanishing, same with shops.
I entertained the idea of a parallel world, not a la Fringe, but more... there's the muggle world, and inside it, invisible to the muggles, there's the wizarding world, like bubbles inside the muggle world. What if there was another wizarding world, a second one, hidden from the first wizarding world and one Draco has been sent to? one where he had recreated his universe, the people he knew, the shops he remembered?
Too complicated, maybe? Then, there's Ginny. What's her role? she seems to be pivotal in this universe, while it looks like it's Draco who has dreams, who seems to have almost created this world. Maybe in the real world/first wizarding world, Draco had unconscious feelings for Ginny and in his recreated wizarding world, his feelings have been able to wake up and grow?

Draco's dreams about Voldy are really important, and there's nobody else but *Ginny* who could have perceived this world along with him. But there's another canon character who we haven't seen. And nobody's said anything about him/her/it in a review yet. So it's possible that this person COULD be important... ;)

Author's Response: Thanks so much! :) Yep, this is weird... but nobody's guessed what is really going on yet. I'm trying to use a slightly different writing style here, and I would LOVE to know what everyone thinks of it...
And here's the story with *Death Train.* It's inspired by pretty much all of my fanfics. However, it takes the most from KCDT. It's an original fic, and the plot/setting/narrative/bleh blah blah are many light-years from HP canon... BUT... the characters are basically my Draco and my Ginny. The plan was to have it out on Amazon and Smashwords by Christmas, but I think that's a LITTLE ambitious now. Hmmm, what if they aren't vanishing but reappearing? I mean, what if this world Draco and Ginny are in is like... a coma, or something like that and then some people like Katie Bell and Cho woke up?
Of course, why would Draco and Ginny the only ones to notice? So I'm not sure it's the right theory.

I'm really really curious as to why Draco and Ginny are the only ones (for now at least) that notice people disappearing. But of course that won't be revealed soon.

Hey, I'm glad you are back! aND WITH A NEW STORY! I guess i should morn "the shadow". You probably don't have any time for it now, being busy with 2 books!
I'm intrigued. It looks like people are disappearing and then everyone else forgets they were there exept for Draco. This Draco is kinda depressed. I feel sad for him. I'm curious were Ginny is going to fit in. Are they going to investigate together? I wonder.
And I hope your character death warning doesn't envolve Draco or Ginny.

Author's Response: Thanks! (puts down suitcases) Yep, I'm back. I kind of thought I might disappear, but no. And Draco and Ginny will team up to investigate these weird occurrences. But no hints as to what they find!
So here's what's going to happen with Shadow-- my first big rewrite project will be to edit, finish, and post the first and MUCH shorter edition of DDD. That actually reveals what happens in Shadow-- sort of. Remember how I kept saying at the beginning that almost all of DDD was done? THAT'S the version I meant, and it didn't get posted. It's not a duplicate of the published DDD at all-- it's very different from it in a lot of ways, and it reveals the secrets of Marie Tessier, how Draco and Ginny knew (or didn't know) each other before, and what Lucius has really been up to all along. Coming soon...
And no, the character death will NOT be Draco or Ginny. Don't worry. ;)

Hmmm, what the hell is going on, here? I was wondering if maybe Draco wasn't in a parallel universe, or in a dream world, with someone controlling it. But it looks like the mysterious vanishing are linked to Ginny, not Draco. Although he is the only one noticing. That's very intriguing.
