Three days of reading and I've finally gotten from start to current! Of course I read most of this before but I always like to do a complete reread when updates come out :-) ohhhh Merlin and Morgana, poor Draco! He's heaped all the troubles of the world on his own shoulders like a damn noble fool, yet what else could he do? Potter martyrs himself in one way, Draco in yet another - and Ginny, feisty fiery fabulous Ginny, I am excited to see how she works her magic to try and keep Draco whole!

I've just read back through this story and I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed it! I love your Draco & Ginny; they're so understanding and passionate with each other. Their arguments frustrate me so much but I love the two of them together and how reliant they are on each other. In fact, all of your characters are written so brilliantly, I love them all.

So Draco read the fic to me through this chapter... oh, okay, it's @Voice, but I really think they sampled Draco's voice and then used that. Such a cool experience. ;) Anyway, it's amazing, as you know! The way this narrative is put together in all its details just works so, so well. Draco's characterization in particular is just incredible. The reader understands why he hasn't told Ginny the details about his meetings with Dolohov, but it's clear that it will come back to bite him, and I've been predicting for a while now that it will come in the form of an attack on Ginny (and look what happened, and I'm psychic, and it's too bad this ability can't be used to win Powerball. ;) I also have to give you points because, well, you placed the date when Harry and Ginny began a physical relationship exactly where I've always thought it would be-- a few weeks or months after the end of the battle. There are some great authors and fics that place it earlier (if it has to exist at all, ugh,) but it never seemed believable that Harry and Ginny would have started to really get intimate until after the crisis was over (again, if they have to do it at all! But in this story, I agree that it was a necessary part of the setup.) If Draco was going to have that type of relationship with anyone at Hogwarts, I also totally agree that it would have been Pansy. (Anisecanon gives him a very different scenario, but every one of these separate alternate universes where each D/G fic is reality has different rules. Yes, they DO exist... ) Anyway, moving on to Chap 24! :)

So I'm going to leave a review before my laptop decides it doesn't want to connect to the site! :) I'm up to around Chapter 10, listening to the fic on @Voice at work (there's a voice on this app that sounds EXACTLY like Draco, so it's perfect.) Basically... this is great, great stuff. Draco and Ginny are absolutely spot on, Draco especially. This is completely the way he'd actually be at this point-- a little snotty, more than a little entitled, very sure of himself in the most obvious ways, and yet so utterly haunted by his past. At one moment, he's self-confident as could be; at the next, he's suicidal. This really is one of the most complex Dracos I can remember reading at all recently.
I think that years of reading D/G fic can make us forget just how difficult it would be for this pair if they really got together, and the number of obstacles they'd need to overcome. This fic is so grounded that it forces the reader to face all of the problems standing in Draco and Ginny's way, the thorniest parts of their own personalities not the least of them. It's fascinating, because in one way, they got close very quickly, but in all the other ways besides the purely physical, it's taking a lot of time (which is exactly how it would need to happen. You know, in the alternate universe where D/G is real.) They've already gotten it past the point that I was ever able to get to with those relationships that start off with an amazing physical connection. It's really hard for those to go further-- they usually last a couple of months and that's it-- but Draco and Ginny are really managing to pull it off. But it makes sense that their own issues and even the disapproval of family and friends wouldn't be all they need to handle. Draco's past was always going to come back to intrude into the present. I'm headed onwards to listen to more chapters tomorrow... really looking forward to finding out more about how the plot develops!! So, more reviews soon...

You have no idea how much it enthralls me that a single person (not a team of creative minds) could come up with such impeccable creative and thoroughly entertaining roller coaster of a drive. Kudos. I liked Draco better when he refused to be a spy. I don't think refusing meant he didn't love Ginny. There are other ways aside from spying. Right? Ugh. I don't want Draco to be in danger!

Yayyyyy welcome back, I missed you!!! Thank you so much for this new chapter. These two fight constantly and make me suffer, but their reconciliations are everything. Like all of a sudden one of them just does/says something really unexpectedly sweet and I just--I just can't. So cute. I hope they can continue to grow and mature together into this less explosive behaviour and more affectionate ways to solve their discrepancies... (Well, this is a fic after all and it needs some good chaos from time to time, haha). I'm so intrigued about what's going to happen with Dolohov ad the death eaters, and how Draco will be envolved with all that. I'm also wishing for my girl Ginny to recover completely, poor thing. She's been trough a lot, no wonder her head is a mess. In the meantime, as always, keep on writing because I'm so eager to read more from you. This is definitely one of my favorite fics ever. Omg this is one of the best draco/ Ginny stories I have ever read, and I have been in love with draco/Ginny fan fiction for 15 years. Amazing writing, great character arcs and a incredible story. Please complete the story, truly best draco I have ever read. So true to cannon draco with the redemption continuation he is meant for. I never write reviews so I hope this makes sense and that you get the chance to complete a great story. Awaiting patiently.
