Narcissa Black Malfoy
Age: 53 (But ask her, and she's turning 39 this year---again)
Birthdate: June 22
Family background: The third of three Black sisters, and therefore by default the baby, Narcissa is the youngest daughter of Cygnus Black and Druella Rosier. Narcissa is estranged from her sister Andromeda Tonks, as loyalties divided them both. She made a concerted effort whilst the girls were at Hogwarts to encourage her older sister Andromeda to join in activities with she and her pureblood friends, and they shared a closeness until age and marriage devided them. She feels a deep void with regard to the loss of her other sister, Bellatrix Lestrange, who was killed by Molly Weasley during the war, in the Battle of Hogwarts. While she often felt as though Bellatrix was acting in a condescending manner towards her, and was used to the competition that exists between sisters in high profile families, Narcissa misses Bellatrix desperately, and secretly wishes that no differences existed between she and Andromeda now that she finds herself, in effect, an only child.
House in School: Slytherin
Bloodline (and does it matter?): Pureblood. Her blood status and the necessity of reatining such as part of her family legacy is vastly important to Narcissa. She was raised to value her blood status, and to take on the many responsibilites that her parents taught her go hand in hand with being born a pure blood witch. She is extremely concerned by the interbreeding that is occuring of late, and fears the possibility of extinction her group could face. In truth, she feels tradition slipping through her fingers and one of her personal goals is upholding the standards her parents instilled in her as a child, hoping to set an example for pureblood youth, and to encourage respect for her way of life in those who might not share her opinion.
Political Views: Narcissa believes in the preservation of the Pureblood way of life, and is a great supporter of arranged marriages between young Pureblood witches and wizards. There is a descrepancy between what Narcissa really wants for the wizarding world politically and what reality would allow her to expect. She understands that she lives in a world that is growing increasily intolerant of the pureblood snobbery she herself possesses and, unashamed of, parades around. As a socialite, involved heavily in charity, she promotes Pureblood intersests and rights rather than superiority, because though she is convinced of her superiority, she is certain that efforts. If she could have what she really wants, Pureblood witches and wizards would marry within their blood classes, and produce large numbers of children, whom they would raise with the traditions and values upheld by such characters of merit as Salazar Slytherin himself and her husband, Lucius Malfoy, whom she greatly admires and adores. Gradually, these children in the following generations would take their rightful places in administration and government in the ministry, and Slytherin would become the largest, if not the only house at Hogwarts.
Appearance

Description: Narcissa is tall and blonde, excessively beautiful and perpetually youthful, despite her age. She is of a medium build, and fit, but shapely, everything taut, nothing sagging. It is often terribly difficult for the common witch or wizard, regardless of how informed they are on who she is, to imagine her as evil or retain any of their previous judgements upon meeting her...though this has probably resulted in the fact that she has been rather friendly and even more social than usual, in the aftermath of the war. Her slightly round face, sparkling blue eyes and adorable turned up nose make her appear endearing and adorable. She carries herself beautifully, in custom made clothes and ancient diamonds; she looks the part of the perfect socialite. Narcissa did not take on the dark mark, though few are aware of whether or not she does, as she commonly wears tight, fashionable dresses with long sleeves and built in corsets, custom made to be form-fitting, but not revealing.
Psychology and Personality
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Strengths and Weaknesses: Narcissa's greatest strength is her incredible arsenal of social skills, which includes her ability to charm her way into or out of nearly anything. Although she is one of those witches who's reputation precedes her, it's very difficult to see "dark" in her upon meeting her. Her perfect composure and wonderful sense of style seem to aide those she encounters in seeing only a dream. Living, breathing pure-bloodedness, a symbol of (no matter how progressive in politics the observer may be) the old ways, and tradition, like observing a living, breathing fairlytale.
Her weaknesses are Draco and Lucius. She spends a significant amount of time worrying about her son; she's an overprotective mother. Being that Draco is not only her only son but her only child, and the only living being as of yet capable of carrying on the Malfoy line and legacy, Narcissa places a great amount of responsiblity on him and relies upon him to fulfill many of her dreams for him. Despite what she wants for him, she also wants him to be happy, and monitors him very carefully, hoping to help him establish a balance between his duties as a pureblood wizard, and his personal preferences with regard to how to carry out those duties.
With regard to Lucius, Narcissa positively worships him, and her weakness is the fact that she is completely submissive to his wishes and desires, not only because most of them happen to co-incide with her own, but also because she is willing to do absoultely anything he asks of her. Needless to say, Druella would be very proud.
Habits\Quirks: She has a habit of worrying too much. Generally about Draco and the state of things for Pureblood witches and wizards, and on a lesser scale, clothing and potential social disasters. She has a habit of giving orders and then getting terribly frustrated and overwhealmed because things aren't being done the way she wants them to be done, dismissing whoever it was she's hired or owns and going off to do whatever it was herself.
Likes\Dislikes: Narcissa loves reading, learning, working in her garden growing known species and developing new speices of plants, planning parties and events, writing letters, constantly perfecting her manor, taking long walks on the Malfoy property, and entertaining.
She dislikes bad manners, rudeness, other people's children, listening to boring stories, feeling usless or innefective, the current state of things in the wizarding world, anyone speaking badly of her husband and son, incompetene, wasting time.
Lifestyle
Occupation: Homemaker, Socialite, Philanthropist
Financial Status: Disgustingly Rich
Residence: Malfoy Manor, Wiltshire.
History from student days at Hogwarts to the present time: Narcissa graduated Hogwarts with flying colors, though her main concern wasn't her studies, but rather her upcoming wedding to Lucius Malfoy. She and her husband Lucius live together at Malfoy Manor in Wiltshire, and have one son, Draco. Narcissa spent ten wonderful years at home raising her son Draco, passing every waking moment with the little boy until he enrolled in Hogwarts. Her husband and son expressed an interest in sending the boy to Durmstrang, and in a rare show of determination, Narcissa managed to stand her ground in insisting that her son stay close to home. WIth her son at Hogwarts, Narcissa occupied herself with social persuits, and projects around the house, until the war.. Her husband was imprisoned in Azkaban, during which time she was extremely depressed and very lonely, moping around Malfoy Manor until such time as Voldemort returned to power, when she became a very unwilling host to Voldemort and his Death Eaters (she often still has nightmares about this era of her life). Now, with her little son (and yes, that is indeed still how she sees him) off on his own, Narcissa frequently writes him letters and pays him (scheduled, of course) visits. She now spends her time planning small events for Pureblood witches and wizards, working on a tapestry painting of the Malfoy and Black family trees, focusing on where they meet, with plenty of room at the bottom for future additions. Her primary concern is aiding Draco with whatever he may encounter on his own, and being the perfect wife to Lucius.
