Words said astray
Never to be forgiven
Flew between them,
The which could not bear to bottle
More anger in their sealed hearts.

They’d both broke,
Of that they knew.
They were not meant to be,
Yet they were.

Simple as breath,
They had loved,
Shut from the outside,
Lost was the key.

Yet it was found again
And opened the aging door
To the outside world once more.

And they’d known
From that moment forth,
That however strongly bound
By enamor they were,
The world could wait no longer,
But sucked them in.

In to a cold and bitter place,
Where vengeance ruled,
And love was sin.
