Story notes: This short story was written for a contest on the Harry Potter Fanfiction Challenges forum on FF.Net. The only rules were that it had to be a one-shot and the first line had to be, "The water looked deep and inviting." Somehow, this is what I got out of it. I suppose I was in a bit of a mood.
