I nearly peed myself from laughing! You write humor so well - I always love coming back to your stories, and this on is truly exceptional. I love Theo and his coffee fetish! "Ignoring the noise from outside the door that was probably Theo bursting into tears of joy" HAHAH. xx

Crossing into Chaos by Emeral_eyes    (Reviews - 512)

*Completely AU* In a world where Voldemort was never defeated, only a few things matter: pureblood, money and power. All that Ginny Weasley wanted was to survive her 7 years at Hogwarts, a school where the children of the richest and most powerful wizards dominate over others. Denying her natural instincts, she managed to make it into her 6th year without offending any of the cruel and powerful Slytherins - especially that horrible Draco Malfoy. Until one day, she crosses a line, and her peaceful existence is shattered forever. A story filled with adolescent drama, clash of the classes, angst, jealousy, ridiculous pride and love triangles (and squares).

As a fan of HYD, I am a huge fan of this story — especially since when I was watching it (the LA. I love Matsumoto Jun) I, too, was picturing D/G — and I love the way you've twisted the HYD story and your own together to make sense. (tbh, I feel like your story makes more sense than HYD; that show required an intense suspension of disbelief regarding the character of that high school)

Anyway, I just wanted to drop in and say that I really have enjoyed this. I've read it once before — but that was when it only had 11 chapters or so — and i love it even more now.

I know that it's been a long while since you've updated (which is something that I am personally acquainted with) and I was just wondering if this was abandoned. Either way. I'll be following it. Excellent, excellent work. Your writing is lovely, the story is an incredibly original take, and you've breathed new depths into the characters: both the HP and HYD characters. I find myself enjoying both stories in new and awesome ways.

Thank you for exploring this AU. I adore it. You are wonderful. xx

A Tale of Two Matchmakers by Kerichi    (Reviews - 524)

Romance for three couples when Blaise and Luna use Shakespearean styled matchmaking to hook up Ginny and Draco. There's Much Ado about...something!

Nominated for a Quicksilver Quill award for Best Romance- Non Canon on Mugglenet

* Written before the HBP, this tale presents an alternate sixth year in which Dumbledore lives, Draco is more than a foil to Harry, and Blaise Zabini is a girl. I hope readers who ship Draco/Ginny will enjoy the story which includes dancing with faeries, Celtic and Norse mythology, school holidays in London and Spain, and loads of fantasy and romance. "Is this a kissing book?" (to quote the Princess Bride) Yes, it is.*

I adore this story!!

This is the second time I've read it, and this time this reference caught my eye: 'the 'abominable snowman' in the old Bugs Bunny cartoons who wanted a bunny rabbit, saying, "I'll hug him, and squeeze him, and call him George."' Bugs Bunny is actually referencing John Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men" here, and I think it's great that authors //can// appropriate outside of fanfiction!

Please don't stop with the Princess Bride references!!

Gah. This is awesome! Loved this especially:

'"I do,” he agreed with rage. “Ginny is a star struck little girl who wants Harry Potter because he’s Harry Potter and she doesn’t know a thing about him. Ginny is Potter’s dream girl because she’ll marry him and have his children and never complain that she wanted more in life than to be Harry Potter’s wife or the person who made all of his dreams come true.'

Super fitting to the epilogue.

Also- Albus Severus Potter is a stupid name.

So I read this in 2008 for the exchange. And I stand by exactly what I said then, and the fact that i nominated this for best overall and best Draco. This is still such a great story to read — a fantastic portrayal of how a realationship between Draco and Ginny would actually work. so many of the stories we see in this ship are all about them getting together or falling apart. but this... this is just about them. Like Draco said, “Fuck everyone else,” he answered, as if she had spoken aloud. “It’s just you and me.”

this is one of my favorite portrayals of Draco. ever. he defends her and supports her and just accepts her. this is the Draco that she could actually fall in love with. that's a real person. "Under the cover of darkness, one dreary night, Draco had whispered in her ear that she terrified him. His sleepy voice seduced her mind, telling her that she lucky to be so carefree and serene. How could she not worry about the next day and what people would think and what disasters awaited?" he's such a hard character to really pin down, there are so many parts to him, so many defenses, in fanfic he almost becomes his flaws. but not here, here he's still Draco, but he's more than i expected. so much more. he loves muggle cars and voluntarily goes to street fairs. He's not just a snarky narcissistic prat, but rather he takes responsibility for his and Ginny's actions (and not even in a violent way — he defends her to her family. Priceless).

and Ginny... She relies on him. Has faith in him. It's brilliant. (and her fashion sense!)

This was just gorgeous. this is what I aim for when I write d/g now. I want the two of them in a relationship, and I think that you achieved this beautifully.

“Fuck everyone else,” he answered, as if she had spoken aloud. “It’s just you and me.” xxx Jen

And the kiss! Epic. That song and the dance. I was just carried away!

I do almost wish we could have more about the Draco/Ron dynamic, especially more from Ron about how he feels about the relationship.

So, yeah, I do t have much to say, because I'm so filled with sunshine and joy and happiness because I adored this chapter. Ugh. When Draco showed up at her flat. L'sigh. Perfect. xx

"He was wearing that slightly mussed hair style that suited him so well, and was dressed in a very well fitting pair of jeans. Over this he wore a black blazer with a white t-shirt underneath. A pair of classic high top Converse sneakers covered his feet." My MOUTH WATERED. APPARENTLY, I HAVE A THING FOR DRACO MALFOY IN CHUCKS. SO. FREAKING. RIDICULOUS. and hot. Very hot.

Anyway. Great update. I think your Ginny is really awesome. The way she handles both jobs without it being a big deal, the way she just takes on interior design like it's the easiest thing ever. I especially like the way she deals with her memories and conversations with Draco. They're not overly weepy, or deliberately heart wrenching, which is what actually makes them so powerful.

Anyway, this is a great chapter. Have I mentioned yet how much I like your chapter titles? Because I really, really do. xx

Oh, another wonderful chapter! I love the Narcissa/Ginny dynamic. Their conversation was too perfect, and I totally laughed for like five minutes at: "It really seemed like he was going out of his way to insult you, dear!" As if Ginny should be pleased. Its been a long while since I've read any Draco/Ginny fic, and Draco's attitude -- playfully condescending, as if baiting for either an argument or banter -- really strikes me as both unique and fitting. I am just loving to this so far!

"Perhaps insulting their love interest was some ancient form of Malfoy courting…" LOFFS. xx

Author's Response: "Unique and fitting" is truly a great compliment when talking about Draco's characterization. It feels like everything's been done in D/G, and Draco is so distinctly Draco-ish that if you don't get him down just so your fic won't work. I guess what I'm saying is this compliment means a lot to me. ^^

Awesome chapter! I already adore Narcissa. I'm glad you've included her. She's perfect so far. Also -- I like Ginny's "I'm going to get him back" determination and I thought the bits about them being kept apart and her believing him to be dead were understandable. Looking forward to more!

Author's Response: I was terrified of writing Narcissa as out of character, not sure if I was doing her justice because I took a bunch of liberties when writing the plot, as you saw. I'm glad that you liked her here!

Promises by recension    (Reviews - 58)

In the back of her mind, Ginny had always sensed there would be wild adventures with her and Harry. The early days of their time together–fighting evil and playing sport–felt like lifetimes ago. The most adventuresome thing they had done together in recent memory was a spontaneous shagging in the garden. It was so domestic that it pained her how common they were. The greatest wizard of his generation, and his wife, getting their thrills from a shag in the garden. She had never thought this future would be hers.

Enter Harry: The Twat.

I know in you A/N's you say that you want to write D/G without vilifying Harry, but I just wanted to let you know – i hate him already.

But, either way, very nicely done. I can actually imagine Harry 'ending' things just like this.

Author's Response: Oh you're welcome to hate him ;). I should clarify, by not vilifying Harry, I don't mean I'm going to make him into an entirely sympathetic character, but that I don't want to turn him completely OOC (i.e. turn him into a complete douchebag) in order to get Ginny to leave him. I think canon!Harry already has plenty going for him that makes him an unfitting match for Ginny. I do think Harry remains a good character at heart, but maybe this isn't a 'good' that Ginny wants... ;P So here in this first chapter, I have him doing exactly what he's done before in canon-leaving Ginny for her own good-except she might not be so patient this time around. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Oh joy! I love this little gem. You don't even need more – it's a perfect stand alone (although that being said, companion pieces would surely be adored).

The notion of "their place" is fantastic, from the very first line, I was hooked. That entire first paragraph, actually, is a perfect summation of why we all love D/G. "If what was between them was exposed to the light of day and the scrutiny of others, they knew it wouldn't hold up. It would simply buckle under the pressure and disintegrate into nothing more than slivers of memories."

And the D/G fanatic in me was going 'NOOO', but then you tied it all together wonderfully at the end: "He knew with certainty then. There was no place for them in this world, but they would make their own. All they needed was for each other to believe in what they had, believe that it could last beyond a shadowed existence, and any place could become theirs."

GLORIOUS ending. I smiled ear to ear.

I hope in the future to see a lot more interaction between them – especially about how they are together. So many great D/G stories are about how they get together, but I really love the ones about the two of them staying together and how that would actually work.

Fantastic. Thanks so much for posting this!

Author's Response: Thank you for your review! I do love stories about them trying to work things out after they get together as well. You'll most likely see me tackle that aspect in my longer works in the future.

Then... the sex. OHMG. AMAZING. Plus — "I'm stuck in your orbit" — i stg, HEART PALPITATIONS.

The one night stand nature of it makes me sad, but i recognise that there was no other way for it, with the two of them. The world and the characters you've constructed make much more than that impossible at the moment.

I've really enjoyed this so far, though! And I am totally looking forward to more. Thanks so much! xx
