That's so SAD...
I went from mildly gleeful from the fic I just finished to staring forlornly at the computer screen. And bear in mind, I have POPCORN, which normally protects from things like this.
Something about thos last few lines - gah.
So freaking SAD.
I'm just going to be honest. He's good looking, alright? That thought doesn't scare me. But sharing a moment with him? Now that was scary...Category: Works in Progress
Eek! Okay, first of all, I just really really love the idea of Draco throwing an apple into Ron's head "like a faceball player". :) You described it so well.
But also, I just really like the way this story is going so far, with the lovely Ginny-monologue and the horror and attraction and especially the ominous last line: Unless I was very much mistaken, it appeared that Mr. Malfoy and I had just shared a moment.
Hehehehehe. Oh, wow. Colin, you are brave. Harry, you are not the all-important BWL in this fic, and somehow that makes you so much more awesome. Ron - oh, Ron. Draco, I love you. Ginny, you are incredible. And TBH, you are amazing for writing this. Can't stop laughing.
....WOW. Ron. Again, I must just shake my head and repeast his name several times. Ron... Ah, Ron... As for Harry, shame, BWL! Shame! ...But I love love LOVE the whole thing you have building up here, with Draco NOT being a total git (gasp!) and Ginny NOT crushing on him (no, seriously).
I also love the way everything seems to just build up and spiral out of control. It's great. Plus I just realized that your title fit in very well with the events of the first chapter, and I approve. *Nods*
Some killer lines, too... But I'm feeling too lazy to hunt them down right now. On to the next chapter!
Less gleeful, but more plotty, and I still love all of your characterizations. Oh, especially like:
“Shovel-hing? What in blazes is that?”
Ron! Harry! NO! Scold, scold, scold. But I love the way they're both brothers. No foolish Harry-love, thank goodness.
I was slightly worried by how you made Charlie sound dead in that first paragraph: This was utter nonsense, but it was still one of my favorite memories of him.
But whatever. I'm expecting some fun in the snow (BTW, totally agree with Ginny on that front, though I can't diss sitting in front of a fire on a cold, wet day), and I love the bit about the cold and eyelashes. Predication: Draco will eventually give Ginny one of histundra-cloaks, and she will sniff it and glory in the scent of smexy teenage boy.
Now all I have to do is read ahead to find out if I'm right.
Ack!!!! She teaches him how to say shovel, and it is sexy! There is something just so awesome about that. Plus, the voice that Draco has in my head is currently saying "shove-ull" or and over in a very slow sexy voice. Hee.
And the, "I think I'm getting the hang of this"? Intriguing and lovely place to end.
And she made him smile multiple times without having snogged him first! Ginny, take a medal.
Plus, Kodak moment. Though it is probably inacurrate for Ginny to know Kodak, your Ginny seems to have at least SOME knowledge about the Muggle world (which I like, BTW), so yay. And yes, I can picture that Kodak moment quite well.
Oh joy! Oh joy joy joy!
Not-quite-philosophical-but-certainly-"hypothetical" conversations, apple noticing, highly amused Draco, snowball fight to come, flustered Ginny... this chapter had it all. :D Love.
Oh, wow. That was INTENSE - and eek! Best chapter yet. Am too flaily and happy to properly express how awesome. Vocabulary and ability to string sentences together also failing. Like Ginny's. Eek. Oh, but she DID wanna sniff him! Ha, take that, I can prophesize. Kinda. But I wish she had randomly kissed him. But I like this way too much to be disappointed. Plus this allows much more plot and buildup.
Okay. Going to continue reading now. LOVE this one best so far.
HA! I... words cannot express. You go from Malfoy-angst to snow-bank-dumping, bypassing internal compasses, muscle pain, nicknames, and cologne (the sniffing again!) on the way. Loooovely. And pretty darn amazing when you think about it.
Ack! Room-sharing, now? I'm too intrigued to properly review, despite the awesomeness of this chapter. Sorry. :)
