Well! A bio. I've been a part of the fanfiction-verse for a few years now, and as my tastes have developed and my interests have changed, I've gravitated more toward D/G (and smut, *cough*) and more away from fangirly canon pairings. This site is really wonderful when considered from a literary standpoint - I've come across brilliant authors and delightful stories, and there's always more D/G to go around.

I'm really excited to be here on this site; it was recommended by KateinVA. I've loved D/G ever since I just before I read the Draco Trilogy on FA. That story was definitely the perfect D/G launch for all of us. I love the unstoppable passion--and all of the drama. It's brilliant.

I don't know what to say about canon. I do love Harry, especially in DH. I think the woman in the epilogue didn't really seem like Ginny. But Harry does love her. This has been hard for me. Still, though, this ship will always have a place in my heart.

In case you were wondering, I'm callmehermione on MNFF as well, and the forums here.

As to my life outside the Internet fanfiction world.. I'm an aspiring photojournalist and linguist with an England obsession and complicated philosophies. I pole vault and travel and ponder passionately.

The Lush Life by Vesanmyn    (Reviews - 657)

A Vesica/Mynuet Collaboration. If Ginny had even the slightest inkling of what the day would bring, she probably would have called in sick. A disastrous press conference proved to be no match for the spin doctoring talents of Lush's chief and Ginny finds herself catapulted from being a lowly intern to the very eye of the storm, living a double life as a careerwitch and glamorous front woman for a racy new line. Throw in a few A-list events, a few dozen crises, an endless promotional tour with her new co-worker and the last person she wanted to spend time with, and a mystery waiting back home that neither of them may be able to solve….Every day's an adventure when you're living the Lush Life!

I love the way you've introduced Ginny and Draco so far! It's interesting to see how different authors do this. Your situation is excellent! The situations are perfect, and everyone is very in character--Ginny, desperate to be helpful, and the Malfoys--perfectly collected.

Author's Response: Ves says: Thanks! If you have a good premise, it makes the rest so much easier! Myn says: Yeah! Next time we\'ll totally have to get the premise worked out before we start writing. That would rock.

Now the big question is whether or not he'll tell Draco. Ah, Lucius. Always there to complicate the plot! I really do love the unique originality of all of this, though. And the dramatic irony bit where we know it's Ginny but poor, deprived Draco has no idea.

Author's Response: I love Lucius, he\'s so handy that way.

Ohmygoodness, what if Lucius doesn't tell him? What if he does? I'm certainly glad you're writing all of this so quickly! It's brilliant!

Deep breath. Anyway, the only thing I noticed was some dialogue punctuation. You need question marks!

*needs another deep breath to get over the closeness of the encounter*

Author's Response: Oddly enough, having the question marks in my dialogue is what got my chapter rejected on MNFF.

Reviewer: callmehermione Signed

Ohmygoodness, I really can't believe this all is happening. I remember and love this story so well! I'm so glad you updated.

Okay, well I had a couple of questions. “A Muggle? No, I think not. I felt your shape shift beneath my fingertips. I watched you change. Not a usual occurrence for a Muggle, I’d say.” Wouldn't Ginny be unaware of that term, too? I mean, I know it's obvious she is who she is, but that seems like something Lucius could add to his argument.

The banter between Lucius and Ginny is delightful. They're arguing as equals and Ginny almost outwits him.

And poor Draco and his confusion! I can understand his hopelessness and denial and subsequent demands.

Why is Ginny furious at the end? I don't understand that. I suppose I'll find out? And I do hope her torment will end, and that her knowledge won't kill poor Draco.

Goodness, such a suspenseful chapter. Thanks so much for it, Kate! *siigh* I really do want to see what happens next. Would you like me to pester you for more? But no, that would be cruel - ah well. Dialogue in this chapter was priceless. Lovelovelove.

Author's Response: *grins* I always love your reviews, dear. As for Ginny knowing the term \'Muggle\', she\'s already indicated that she knows who Lucius is (she called him \'Malfoy\' in the previous chapter), so it could be assumed that she had some knowledge of the wizarding world. It is an unlikely scenario, though, which is why Lucius doesn\'t buy it.\r\n\r\nI\'m glad you enjoyed the banter. I always worry when I have a lot of dialogue because I tend to zero in on that and ignore the parts that could use some additional descriptive passages. If that makes sense.\r\n\r\nThe next chapter will be from Ginny\'s POV, so you\'ll see why she\'s so angry then. She\'s not angry with Draco. Though I\'m not sure the same could be said in reverse...\r\n\r\nYou are welcome to prod me in the future. I can always use incentive.

First of all, let me apologise for refraining from reviewing until now - there were so many chapters, and I was so caught up in just reading them that I hadn't gotten a chance!

I don't really know where to begin, except by saying how amazingly perfect the last few chapters were. Seeing the whole situation from Ginny's perspective makes it easier for the reader to see how you created a Draco like yours, with so much depth and turmoil and conflict and even conscience. The smut, of course, was brilliant, especially having read the story up until this point - it's as though the readers have as much connection with the characters as the characters have with each other! And I also know how different reading and writing smut is, so I honestly admire your fluency!

I can't even express how well you've developed Draco's character throughout the story. He started out defensive and confused, continuously fighting off everyone who tried to stand beside him. After Ginny suffered the complete betrayal of both Draco and herself, they were both a little torn apart. The fact that they can't seem to stay apart is central to your story, and you've expanded it beautifully. (I am concerned as to what Draco will do now that Ginny may not be able to stay in contact.) Draco’s desperate reactions to Ginny’s letters are upsetting for him, and I can’t help but wish and hope they’ll be together again soon, just as they’re wishing and hoping the same thing. As Draco’s conscience develops and he begins to understand himself more, it’s even harder for him to see Ginny and Snape slipping away from him because he can now finally admit to love.

Your other characters are fascinating. Hermione, Harry, Luna, Snerk, Crabbe, Snape, Arthur, Bellatrix and even the other Order members and Death Eaters all play their own particular roles throughout the story. You’ve done such a brilliant job with incorporating every character, especially their familial relations and the remnants of relationships from Canon.

Considering Draco's introspective time in Azkaban and his time with Ginny on the train, it's almost easy to forget everything that's going on in the outside world and your unending (and sometimes crazy) creativity in bringing these events to Draco. The issues with Scrimgeour and other ministry frustrations form a fascinating underlying plot. The Stonehenge magic is
a daunting prospect, but also an amazing idea. It makes sense that the places where the most power is concentrated (like in Voldemort) could be somehow connected to ancient magic.

The darkness of your storyline is comically offset by details you add - Arthur's court system, Snurk and Flep's silly names, Bella's insatiable, um, appetite, and Draco's misinformed sarcasm. I've found myself laughing and close to tears in the same chapter, all due to your talent and imagination!

Now, worries. I thought I was going to mention these first, but I figured I'd get the good parts over with. First, Tam Lin?! Anise, please don't do this to us. Ginny's going to have to battle a changing creature in order to save Draco from being taken to fulfill an oath? And what about the Dark Lady? Will Draco go somewhere Ginny can't follow? These thoughts are just so upsetting that I'm half-dreading the end of this story. As long as they get to see each other soon, I feel like it doesn't matter how epic the story is! A while ago, you predicted seventy chapters, and that's how many were up at the time so I thought the story was finished. How wrong I was! All I can do now is hope for an 'ever after' ending... and fewer mentions of Tam. They're worrying, dear.

Also, Draco talks so much about a happy ending in five months that I'm concerned he’ll never leave, or he'll at least have to relive his memories, which I honestly can't remember him doing... At the soul ceremony, it was only the others who relived theirs, right?

Will the ending really comply with the epilogue of DH? As far as I can tell, that means Ginny has to marry Harry and have his children, which, especially given Harry's current state, doesn't seem particularly reasonable.

No matter what happens, you’ve made a timeless epic out of this story. Really, even despite the silliness (like frappuccinos) and random subplots, the depth of the feelings the characters have, especially Draco’s and Ginny’s for each other, but even Harry’s greed for power and Snurk’s need to save Bella, have made this a story all of your readers will always remember. Thank you!

After your other stories, the chaste!ginny thing is difficult to get used to, but it makes an excellent theme for the story. I love how considerate you've made Draco! Excellent, and, again, I can't wait for more! I'm so glad you have so much time to write!

Author's Response: Hee hee! I love \'Dray\' too! Seeing all the stories where he\'s called Drakie or something similar made me determined to come up with some nickname for him that didn\'t make me want to hurl.

I really like how you make each Draco and Ginny in your stories different from the others! It's hugely entertaining. The Love Shack, though? Doesn't sound quite as tame as "The Burrow." I'm quite curious, now.

Draco would never have talked to her, except possibly to make a snide comment. Here, though, there was no pressure to maintain his reputation as a bully.

I can't get over the perfection of your setting! It really helps the story to flow. Excellent, and I can't wait for more! I love the irony here, too--Draco has no idea.

Author's Response: Draco having no idea seems to be a recurrent theme in my storylines. I feel a little bad for making him such a dolt. I\'m glad your enjoying the story!

What a precious exchange! It was all very Draco and Ginny and mischievous of them. I especially liked the relationship you created (however briefly) of playful banter and teasing. I particularly loved the mongoose, and your ability to add rather amusing sex at the end of the story.

It's just lovely, reading your writing - your level of intellect is inspirational. Thank you for sharing your stories with us!

Oh, the utter joy of this story - and the sweet, perfect ease of the ending! It was nice of you to let them go back to where they started.

There was so much of both Draco and Ginny in the way you presented their characters, but at the same time you left the reader with much to consider - what had their lives been like, those three years? Was Draco happy, or did he worry Ginny wasn't? The possibilities you present seem like questions essential to the pairing, questions they'll even now have to face - the choices between family and each other, maybe.

There's also regret at the end, which takes talent with a happy ending. They'll now never have the experience of being in the other's shoes, but it may be worth giving that up just to be themselves.

Aah! You've done such a delightful job with this concept. I did mean to read this story during the exchange, and I have no idea how I didn't, but anyway, it's amazing, and I'm very glad I've found it now. Thank you.

I love the premise of this story - the wedding where all of them would be there. It's wonderful.

Head popping up at the sound of a female voice, Draco was greeted by the sight of the mischievous bridesmaid who’d spent the ceremony trying to fluster him. Hee. Trying to fluster him, hmm? How precious.

She gets a Weasley and suddenly decides everyone else needs one, too. *dies*

With her quick wit and a penchant for mischief, conversation with Ginny was never dull. It was something he looked forward to. I love this characterization. It's like a little slice of Ginny's true nature, and Draco's. Lovely.

Aw, and what a precious story! Pansy is devious indeed, in a wonderful way. I like your Pansy. I think I want more of her. Thank you for this sweet story, my dear.
