Draco's Dangerous Dilemma by Anise    (Reviews - 1418)

All Ginny wants is to get the upper hand just once with drool-worthy hunk of man candy and callous playboy Draco Malfoy before he moves on to his next careless conquest. So how did this simple plan lead to time travel, nefarious plots involving the most infamous whorehouse in the wizarding world, and the teenaged Draco’s achingly sweet, chocolate-flavored kisses? Even Draco Malfoy was innocent once, as Ginny learns all too well…

Chapter ONE HUNDRED EIGHTEEN Quote of the Day:

THE LAST CHAPTER

The minutes ticked by, long enough for Ginny to know that against all reason, all common sense, she still wanted impossible things from him. But she would leave. Even after today, even when her body ached from him and for him, when she could feel that he had begun to shape her to him, she would turn around and leave him. I will, I will, she thought.

“You don’t understand,” said Draco.

“Oh?” Ginny said stiffly. “At least he hadn’t touched her, she thought. She would not be able to find the strength to pull herself away from him, and she knew it.

I'm rereading because I fancied an incredibly long and complicated and gloriously written DG fic, and it's been years(?) since I last read it and I just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying it.

I'm still gripped by what's going to happen next because I can't quite remember all the twists and turns, and I love how confusing and plotty everything is, like waiting for a grand reveal at the end of a murder mystery.

Your characterisations of Draco and Ginny are spot on, particularly when Draco goes into his "other" persona of being all cold and hard and then switches back out so quickly, or when Ginny lets her instincts take over and then realises she's been too hasty and it's gotten her into trouble.

I really love the hints you're dropping about everything that's going to unfold like the there "Wait for me, Ginny." Or how quickly Ginny forgot about the crates from Lyme Regis just like Draco told her to. And I can't remember but is Lucius Malfoy still alive or is there something else going on? I can remember what's happened to Narcissa but not Lucius and I don't want to read the reviews incase of Spoilers!

I'm kind of in awe by how much you write and plot everything, definitely writing goals.

Author's Response: I didn't see this until now, and even though the reviewer will probably never see it, I still want to respond to it!! ;) It means so, so much to get a review like this-- something so beautifully written and thoughtful. And even six months later, it's so great to find it.

Somewhere I Belong by Tiny Q    (Reviews - 97)

It’s been just over ten years since the Battle of Hogwarts. Society has moved on but not in the utopic way everyone assumed it would. For Ginny Weasley, however, everything is going great until a season-ending fall derails her Quidditch career and forces her to reevaluate her life. It also forces her to realize that there’s more to Draco Malfoy than she ever thought—something Luna has been telling her for the past six years… This is what happens when Slytherins find themselves filling the roles of Gryffindors, Ravenclaws rule the art world, and Weasleys are unable to use magic—or at least, one Weasley can’t.

I'm really loving this so far!
I love the casual low-key flirting of Ginny and the first Draco, and her stubbornness is so on point. You've really captured the not-quite-friends-but -regular-enough-acquaintances-and-mutual-friends-it's-not-that-awkward level of relationship.

And I was not expecting that twist at the end! So intriguing. Was he just a hallucination? A Malfoy impersonator? A duplicate/clone?

Can't wait to read more.

The scarlet steam engine is pulling out of the station, and Draco and Ginny must come to terms with their past before a new year at Hogwarts begins.

OOO!!! This was so good!

I love how you write Ginny in the beginning, strong and stubborn and (slightly) bitter but hurting and vulnerable at the same time.

The image of Draco over-confessing to his prisoners is one of my personal favourites, you're right, he doesn't see them as threatening and therefore are safe to talk to because he can't talk to anyone else about these things. I've got a few scenes prepared for later on that are similar because it just seems so him to need to confide in someone. Oh I want to give him a hug :(

Oo a secret relationship! Shockingly I didn't see that coming!

It's all so painful. I want to cry for them.

"like a habit from a different lifetime. There was Before The Battle and there was After The Battle. Sometimes it still felt like she’d fought in the Battle of Hogwarts mere days ago, but Before The Battle still seemed decades removed from the present." This bit is so beautiful, you've described that nostalgia perfectly.

It's a cute ending, but hopeful.
I really enjoyed reading this :D

Author's Response: Over-confessing is such a good way of putting it! That's exactly what he does, and he never has any intention to do it, but it happens anyway. Poor baby needs an outlet. Why not use the ghost that haunts a girls' bathroom and one of the prisoners in his dungeon? I didn't see the secret relationship coming, either! Hahaha. I didn't set out to write it, but it worked really well for the rest of the story. :) Thank you so so so much for reading and for such a lovely review!
