Your writing is like heroine: extremely addicting and painful to have to go through withdrawal from. This story is shaping up to be fantastic, I was hooked by about the 2nd paragraph of the first chapter. And now, thanks to the mighty power of Google, I know the story of the fairy tale itself (and things have become much clearer), I'm possibly even more eager for more story!

Ah, political intrigue, hidden motivations and absolutely lovely writing! Glad to see a new fic by you, big fan of your other work. One note though; I would suggest going back to using italics to indicate the flashbacks, instead of the 'flashback/end flashback' tags. It was perfectly clear that it was a flash back when you used it in the first chapter, and subsequently, the flashback tags tend to interrupt your otherwise lovely flow. Can't wait to read more soon!

Very very interesting. This has given me quite a bit to think about, that's for sure. I was trolling around on JKR's site, actually, and I saw something that made me think of your argument re: whether or not Draco's a pureblood or not...."Don't forget that, as Sirius revealed in 'Order of the Phoenix', none of these families is really pure - in other words, they merely cross Muggles and Squibs off the family tree and pretend that they didn't exist." While the whole "who is the HBP?" has been the million dollar question ever since we learned the title, this essay combined with what she's said on her site have given me some pretty good reasons to believe that Draco is at least a possibility, whereas before I would have discounted it completely (I still have a nagging feeling it may be Hagrid). In any case, you've given me a lot of things to look for and attempt to explore more deeply on my next read-through of the books!

Thanks for putting the list together, and compiling the results, etc. Just like you need to read canon before you can write in a fandom, you totally need to read the fanon canon, so this will help educate D/G newbies everywhere! I've been writing D/G for almost two years now, and there's more than half of the list that I haven't even heard of before, so I'm going to have to do some 'educational reading' to brush up on my fanon!

What I admire most about this fic (other than all the research and explanations that must have gone into it, and the fact that you were able to construct an engaging fic around wine vintages) is the fact that the entire story is told from Draco's POV. It's very rare, I find, for an author to chose to tell the story only from his perspective, most either bouncing back and forth from various characters, or sticking with Ginny. I know that I, personally as a female, have a lot of trouble writing from a male's perspective and tend to prefer to write from my female character's POV. The fact that you've stuck with Draco throughout the fic, and that it's very convincingly done, only adds to the originality of the fic itself. I really enjoyed reading it!

Author's Response: I\'m glad that you enjoyed the story, especially the perspective. It was fun to write--and a challenge as well. Draco isn\'t an easy character to capture (and I\'m sure I didn\'t do as good a job as others have, for example Anise in KCotDT), but in this case he came awfully close to writing himself. It was clear to me that if he were to drink wine, he would have to be a wine snob, and I\'ve met lots of those. Anyway, I would certainly recommend writing a Draco-centric story to anyone who wants a bit of a challenge. It certainly can be an adventure.

Hee! I love Angry!Ron, and Weasley insanity, and the fact that you used the word 'daft' in a fic, as it is quite possibly my favorite word in the English language that is not used nearly enough as it should be!

Just a few things I'm not quite clear on: what was the deal with Ginny wanting to see Hermione's socks? I read it twice, but I think I'm still missing something... and why was George picking up the ring? Was it because Ron asked him to, or because Ron didn't have a ring...

Hee...handcuffs...lol

This was really interesting. While it definitely stands alone, if you ever feel so inclined, I'd love to read an installment about their encounter during her fourth year and what she saw during that glimpse inside his head that could create a connection that would lead to this encounter.

He looked at each of them in turn, and finally put his hand on Ginny\'s arm, dragging her away from the others. Over his shoulder, he snapped to the other Slytherins, \"Keep them still.\"

Ginny struggled and tried to break his hold, but he was too strong. When they were at some distance from the others, able to be seen but not heard, he muttered, \"You watch all the time, you must know...\" And, quick as a snake, he grasped her chin and jerked her head up so that her eyes met his.

There was another mutter, completely indistinct, and she felt trapped in his gaze, completely open to him as she felt her memories rush past her eyes and, somehow, past his. Harry\'s indifference, Hermione\'s condescension, Ron being a prat, Percy, the twins, Christmas, her birthday, the Chamber... And, despite her trying to shy away from remembering him, Tom. It all went by in a split second, and as she felt tears well in her eyes, something shifted.

She saw a blonde woman crying, and felt like it was her mother. Lucius Malfoy smiled at her. She was flying behind Harry, clutching his broom. It was Christmastime, and a large pile of presents was ignored in favor of a warm three-way hug between the Malfoys.

Seeing them that way, as a real family, and feeling the love that flowed between them, scared her as nothing else did. She didn\'t want to see them as human, didn\'t want to think about how a loving person could have handed her the diary (but you didn\'t have to use it, did you? He didn\'t make you, you wanted to, whispered a small voice in her mind.). Without any conscious thought, Ginny felt her hand fly out and she hit him, one of her nails catching on his skin and leaving a scratch, and the connection was broken. She grabbed the wands he held and ran, determined never to look at Draco Malfoy ever again.

Am officially hooked. Has anyone told you how hilarious this fic is yet? So many little bits of dialogue which are just classically, screwball comedy-esque and I love it.

Am intrigued, of course, by the identity of Marie. Is this the same Marie that's appeared in some of your other fics??

Really interesting! I love that Draco was essentially telling her the truth all along - I think Ginny should start paying a bit more attention to potential other meanings his words might have.

What a delightfully happy ending for an Anise fic! I absolutely loved this concept - so many of your fics are like alternate realities of each other, it was interesting to see it all wrapped up into one fic.
