A new chapter, YAY.

The mystery is deepening, for sure. This chapter brings up so many new things... what exactly does Charlie know, especially about her past relationship with Draco? Why did Draco really burn that picture? Why did Ginny immediately think it was because of some awful motive? It seems like she would have been in more trouble if he *hadn't* burned it. Or are her sudden feelings really coming from something that happened between them in the past? And as always, I love your world-building; there's so much that's original in it!

Well... looking forward to the next chapter. I can't dare to hope that this will be 38497023.pi chapters long, because I think you could draw this out for a quite a while... but hopefully, there will be more soon. :)

My mind is blown. I'm not entirely sure what's going on but the bits that I am getting are fab!! I'm very much looking forward to some more juiciness (by that I'm totally just meaning hot draco & ginny scenes - because who doesn't love our passionate, hot & heavy power couple?)

Eagerly awaiting more, good luck xx

What a great story. I have NO IDEA what is going on. What is this GAP? I'm marveling at the originality of this story. I can't wait to read more!

So I read this on, then on Tumblr I saw your announcement, and I just had to check it out. So intense! It combines my favorite movie and my favorite movie/book series, and it's so intriguingly good that I can't get enough of it! I feel bad for Bill, and I can't wait to see more Weasley without their memories of being a family interaction. Great so far!

Yaaaas, gurl yaaaaass. Since it's been over a year since I read this story, I'm already fuzzy on the details of what happens, but I'm super super excited for the expanded content!

That was a neat trick Draco pulled (and I so called it!), distracting her with declarations of love while smuggling the picture out of her pocket. But so sad that the only picture Ginny has of her whole family before the Lacuna, a relic from days she doesn't remember, had to be destroyed. I have feels.

I can't wait to see more Ginny/Charlie interaction. He's her only family who remembers them how they were, who truly loves them for who they are, and not just because they were cobbled together and told they were a family, without any memory of being one. I reread the previous chapter to refresh my memory of where we left off, and it's still so distressing to read Bill, Percy, and Molly's letters to Ginny. The lack of that warm, loving, crazy relationship is so sad, even though you did a really great job capturing each of their voices in such short letters! Like Molly still sounds like loving, caring Molly, but at the same time, she's basically talking to a stranger and hoping for a closer relationship in the future.

And this life must be sad for Charlie, too! Being alone so long. Not knowing what's happened to his siblings and parents. (He wasn't affected because he was in Romania or something, right? Which begs the question of why Britain? And how?) Knowing his siblings and parents don't remember him at all. :( I can't wait to see how the story progresses with the added content! Hopefully another year doesn't pass before the next update. :D LOVE IT AND LOVE THIS STORY BYE.

Also, if you don't have the ability to delete the spam review below, just let me know and I can delete it for you.

Author's Response: Jeeesss! :D Thank you so much for the review! (I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hoping for it haha.)

(And I managed to figure out how to delete it. Thanks though!)

Well, it's not Ginny's fault she doesn't remember enough to know what to expect from a Slytherin. I agree that it's quite sad, though - I ended up being attached to the little picture people. I wish Molly could've seen it... but, well, you know these characters, they do things the moment you turn your back on them. I don't imagine Ginny is especially happy with Draco for toying with her like that.

The Ginny/Charlie relationship is one thing I'm really excited to write about! He didn't get to appear much during the exchange, so I'd really like to expand on his development this time around. Fingers crossed.

Anyhoo, thanks sooo much! I'll get to work on the next one right away so it'll take less than a year to update, haha.

Really enjoying the story and the setting they're in! So glad I found it, can't wait for the next chapter!

Okay, can we just pause for a minute, because I think I may faint. *fans self*
That was H-O-T. Can't wait to see the next chapter, which you should be working on STAT because I want to see it finished this instant!

Author's Response: Soooo... I finished the third one. ;D

Yay! Another chapter! Oh, this fic is so good... so much going on... I just knew that she wouldn't be able to resist Draco, and of course, she didn't. ;) Great smut scene, but there's something about the way you write them together, their connection, the way that I think they're both feeling towards understanding what it means... Ginny is probably further along the path of really admitting that she wants to know than Draco is, though...

Anyway, it really reminds me of why I love this pairing. And the letters from her family are great! More soon!!

Author's Response: Hey Anise, thank you for the review!

Well, can anyone resist him, reaaally? ;) Hehe, I'm so glad you liked the smut - never have I felt so much like an awkward newb as when I was writing it, so it's a huge compliment that you (in particular, Crystal Palace queen) think it's good. :D

You'd be right in thinking that, although I'm not sure if Ginny knows what it is, exactly. With Draco though - I mean, if I lost your memories, but you know your family committed war crimes, I don't think I'd want to know very much either, haha.

Anyhoo, thank you again! I'm sorry it took a year, lol. But I hope you like what comes next!

Yaaayyyy! I love this story!

Even though it's been over two months since I read this on FFN, I can tell that you've added a bit more content, and I'm so excited that you are expanding the already wonderful story you've created! Everything about this story was wonderful during the exchange, but I was particularly blown away by (and particularly enjoyed u_u) the smut. Aren't you, like, twelve?? I kid, I kid. But seriously, I thought this was the best smut in the whole exchange. Maybe top two, but, you know, awesome. I am envious of this particular writing skill, haha.

I think the first time I read this story, I never picked up on Molly mentioning having six kids instead of seven in her letter. That piece of foreshadowing was excellently placed, and the surprise of Charlie's visit adds to the mystery of the whole story.

I'm flabbergasted by not just your smut-writing skills, but your writing skills in general. You have such a way with storytelling. As short as this story was during the exchange, you managed to create an entire new world, including back stories, and you just made it so intriguing. All I can say is ???.

I'm starting to not make sense anymore, but that's what this story does to me. Good job. Can't wait for everything that is to come!

Author's Response: Yaaaayy! Thank you so much for liking it! :D I'm so flattered, seriously. Maybe this will be my one achievement in life haha... ha...

I'm not twelve! Reverse the digits... and subtract seven... and add a number of your choice, and you may have my age. :3 I'm so glad you liked the smut, lol. I remember freaking out over how to write it, because I've not really written smut before. Translating something like that into words, and then still having the emotion is really hard to do. I needed a few trips to the forum smut workshop. If you have any tips please share!

Oh, you noticed! :D Not many seemed to during the exchange, and I was wondering if I made it a little too obscure.

Oh, man. Reading this review gives me so many warm feelings. Thank you so much, Jess! For reviewing, definitely, but also for liking it so much. You have no idea how flattered I feel that someone as prolific as you gives me such nice comments. :3 I hope you like what's to come too!

Hmmm, so things are on the move...I wonder if smell will trigger some memories for them? Especially for Draco and Ginny?

Author's Response: I think 'on the move' is a bit of an understatement, haha. Well, I wasn't specifically thinking of smell, but that's a good point! You'll have to read on and see. ;)

When I read this during the exchange, I was completely intrigued. It definitely had an eternal sunshine of the spotless mind feel to it, yet vastly different. It sort of reminded me of The Island a bit, too.

The atmosphere is striking with the juxtaposition of this somewhat sterile world of the Lacuna with the striking interruption of memories (the backwards expressions). You get the feel of blurred snapshots, little vignettes of life pre-Lacuna.

The exchanges between Draco and Ginny are wonderfully done. You definitely get a sense that they somehow remember each other and, if we're to go by the backwards phrases, were quite close.

But what is most intriguing about this fic and the first chapter is how you place the reader in the story, painting this odd yet very intriguing picture. You definitely have something original on your hands here and I look forward to more.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the great review, Lia! I did hope for it to have an Eternal Sunshine feel to it, so I'm glad that you think so (I'm not so familiar with The Island, though. Is that a movie?). I'm glad that you're enjoying this fic, and I hope you'll enjoy the next chapter just as much!

Hannah, this was one of my absolute favorite pieces written for this year's exchange. I'm very happy to see that you plan on publishing and expanding on this. I really loved your interpretation of a really difficult prompt. Truly well done!

Author's Response: Thank you, Rowan! I'm really flattered that it was one of your favourite fics during the exchange, coming from a prolific D/G writer like you - I hope you'll continue to enjoy it as much as more stuff gets added later on! :)

This story brings a lot of questions to the mind - and for me, that's a wonderful trait because it always, always makes me want to know more! I have never read a fic in this type of pseudo-communistic setting for DxG, so I am pumped to see what type of direction this is bound to take. I want to know what happened to the Wizarding World for it to get to this point. I want to know why everyone seems to be strangers to each other. I want to know why its rated Extremely Naughty. [ I'm bad, hehe :p ]

This is an excellent set up for what looks to be a promising, heart-wrenching, terrifying, and deliciously drama-filled story. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Author's Response: Well, if you read the second chapter, you'll see why it's rated Extremely Naughty. ;) Haha, thank you so much for the review! I'm really happy to know that it's piqued your curiosity so much - I have to give credit to Orwell's 1984, and also a tiny skewed bit of USSR history. I hope you'll continue to enjoy this story as it progresses!

Okay, as you are well aware, I cannot emphasise enough how much I adore this story. The premise of the whole thing is amazing, from the distopian futuristic feel (the comparison someone made to Gattaca was parfait), to the Communist-type parallels you subtly hint at throughout.
There is something hinky going on in this chapter from the get go, and you set up the story so wonderfully. The characterisation is spot on, too; you can clearly tell who these characters are despite their lost memories, and that sense of loss leaves such an impression on me as the reader. It's as though Ginny in particular knows that there's something wrong, but because she can't figure out what she's decided not to stress over it, and I'm sure in the current climate of society that that's something a lot of people choose to do.
I was devastated that this wasn't up for any awards during the exchange, because there are at least four categories that your fic would have been my first choice for. I don't think you got nearly enough credit for what an amazing piece of writing this story is. Amazing work, H!

Author's Response: Woman, I have you to thank for some of this stuff. So. You know. Thanks. u_u Seriously though, thanks so much for the review! Pretty much everything you've said hit the mark - and haha, it was a shame about the awards, but at least my giftee got her fic. I'm so flattered that you would have voted for mine. Thank you so much!

Ugh, this story. I don't know how you came up with this idea or the details of it. It's just so creative, and I'm in awe of your imagination. Why aren't you writing Young Adult novels??

I can't remember if I said this in my review on FFN, but this is the kind of setup that works so well with fan fiction, because we as readers know so much about these characters and they don't know anything at all. The fact that Ginny has to meet her family all over again and they're strangers to each other is so sad, especially considering the Weasleys are a close, loving family. Just like this dystopian world, the Weasley family is sterile and unfamiliar. :( (Or at least they will be next chapter when we read their letters to each other. D: D: D:)

I love this story!

Author's Response: Jess, your review for TR at FFN all but made me cry, and your review now is much the same. I agree with the point you brought up about the premise working well with fanfic characters. That actually hadn't crossed my mind at all, but it's so true. (Also, writing Molly's letter actually made me tear up a bit. Haha.) Thank you so much, and I am so happy that you like this fic. There are minor changes/additions to the second chapter already, but I hope you'll continue to read it and like it as much as I add even more stuff to it later on.
