Draco finds Ginny baking in the kitchens. Has he bitten off more than he can chew?Category: Completed Short Stories
lucius on the run asking for money is just hilarious. what a sweet little story. this is exactly what i needed after reading a particularly angsty fic.
tried your recipe as promised, very flavorful & should come with a warning label when eaten warm from the oven. thanks for the 'baking lesson'.
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked both the story and the recipe! The recipe is one of my favorites, and the story holds a special place in my heart as the first D/G fic I ever wrote. Thanks for letting me know what you think about both of them!
He showed her everything. What they didn’t get to the first day, after flying kites and riding boats and feeding swans, they did the next day, and the next. She realized, after spending seemingly endless weeks with him, that she didn’t want to go home, but go home she must.Category: Works in Progress
Ten years have passed. They’ll always have Paris.
oh alright... i guess you guilted me into reviewing. i've been enjoying your work for a while now, and this is just my first review. you're right though, now is a lovely place to start. this chapter has everything - with poor draco dealing with his emotions, cautious but encouraging conversation between ginny & scorppius, and realistic interaction between lily & scorpius (love the prank war). all very well-writtern as the previous chapters were.
i usually don't like to read wips, but your first chapter really caught my attention, and now i'm hooked. you're a wonderful writer, and i appreciate your regular updates... hint, hint.
Author's Response: Well, I\'m incredibly glad that you decided to leave a review, especially such a thoughtful one. This chapter was a little more light hearted, but I tried to keep it similar enough to previous chapters. I try to keep the interactions and character emotions realistic, and I\'m grateful that you appreciate it. I try to update every weekend, and hope to keep that up. Thanks again!
oh dear... pain all around. but with their situation, it would not be believable if they have it easy. i feel for lily the most (makes me want to smack james & albus for taking it out on her... gits!)
i have a feeling things will get worse before they get better. i know draco is a mess and ginny is miserable, but please don't make them break-up!
the way you presented their pain is brilliant. that scene at the jokeshop (ironic, come to think of it) where people were unforgiving, draco's anguish, ginny's tears, and that line of draco's at the end... heartbreaking!!!
you're awesome, thanks for the update. oh, pls excuse my 'lower case' review, i'm just a text junkie. also, a shout-out to ur beta Embellished (see, a capital letter just for her), you both rock!
Author's Response: Such a long, thoughtful review. I appreciate every single one of your comments! Lily did suffer some hardships this chapter, and you\'ll see how this affected her a little later on. Things are getting messy, and none of my characters are happy right now, much to their and my dismay. Thanks so much for recognizing Embellished as well. She certainly deserves a lot of credit.
i just got to say... "go george!" :) i'm glad for ginny's epiphany so she was able to deal with her mum (mean, mean molly!) i felt her fear there near the end when she couldn't find draco at first. the last scene was very touching. good thing draco's not drinking (anymore?). he's right though, they can face anything as long as they stay strong together.
thanks for the brilliant as usual update. happy new year!!!
Author's Response: I\'m really glad so many people enjoyed George\'s character in this chapter. Draco is struggling much harder than Ginny, because he has even more to deal with, but he\'s trying. Thanks for the review!
poor draco. i wonder when we will learn the whole backstory there... hmm maybe really soon(?). it's good though that he's trying especially for lily's sake. it's nice too that lily is very perceptive, she's almost protective about her dad. meantime, i feel like i have to brace myself (for disaster) when the boys come to visit.
great chapter. i'm glad you're back. i got worried a little there, so thanks for the assurance. writer's block sucks, but it happens. just know that you have loyal readers who'll wait patiently for updates, and buck up and review too! ^ - ^.
Author's Response: We\'ll get some more of the backstory in upcoming chapters, as we\'ve already seen a bit of it in Draco\'s first visit to Diagon Alley. The boy\'s visit is coming soon, and I think everyone\'s bracing themselves for it. I really appreciate you staying faithful to the story and sticking around. It means a lot to me. :)
uh oh... he's not supposed to be there! a cliffie!!! you are so mean, lunaeyes! ok enough with the exclamation points... i think ginny's pregnant. i used to just cry all of a sudden during tv commercials and newscasts when i was... lol. scorpius being protective of lily makes me feel better. 'only i can do that' - so cute!
can't wait for the next chap. great job meanie! ;)
Author's Response: I do love your reviews. They always make me smile. Usually, I try to avoid cliffhangers, but I\'ve got a couple coming your way, so beware. I\'m so glad everyone loves Scorpius as much as I do. And as far as your suspicions about Ginny go, you\'ll just have to wait and see. :)
boy, i had about two minutes of seesawing emotions while reading this. at first i was 'yay, a midweek update!' then, what's up with the chapter title? no way that it could be a prelude to valentines. then, i wanted to smack james for being such a prat, but i'm glad that at least albus is trying. poor draco, dealing with his demons while bearing all the stress about the boys, not wanting to burst ginny's bubble. and then i was starting to feel a little smug when my suspicions about ginny was about to be confirmed... but then, scorpius! no, you're not that cruel...... are you?
and to think i thought i prepared myself for cliffies after your warning. gahh! this is getting so 'unputdownable' - so let's just say, i'll be checking back this weekend. thanks :-)
Author's Response: I love your reviews so much. Yeah! Proud of me for getting the chapter out several days earlier than I would have usually. And, your pregnancy suspicions (you were the first one to call it, by the way) are on their way to being confirmed or denied. Next chapter. I am pretty cruel. But I guess it\'s a question of how cruel I really am, huh?
oh no kidding, the angst you put us through my friend. you were pure evil right there at the start, i tell you. but yay! i was right about ginny... go me! one good news at least, if only ginny & draco are not dealing with so much right now. poor lily, for things to be so lousy on her birthday, at least scorpius came through (whew!).
that was brilliant, the way you come up with what happened between james & scorpius. i was really hoping it wasn't the curse that harry used on draco. as it is, draco will find it hard to forgive james, but i think their relationship will be irreparable if it was the sectumsempra. wow, the way you described the emotions on that last scene, especially draco's through ginny's eyes, then ginny's conflict.
amazing! you know where you always leave us right? wanting more, more, more! great job!
Author's Response: You were very right about Ginny, I\'m very proud. You caught the hints about three chapters before I revealed, and you were the first one. :)It was definitely an accident, but there are certainly repercussions that everyone has to deal with. It makes me happy that you all want more, because I\'m pleased to deliver. Thanks for yet another spectacular review!
nothing like a little sibling jealousy there to see that scorpius is back to normal, which is good. "i am in pain!"... lol. i'm afraid i don't get what ginny is so angry about, after all draco had been 'more' in the right. ;) even though this ended in another cliffie (as i said before, evil!), it's good that we are finally at this point. they are both finding it hard to say what needs to be said, and draco is so anguished that i'm almost relieved he's finally going to share his demons with ginny. good or bad, make or break? waiting to exhale...
fantastic job as usual. thanks.
Author's Response: Aw, Scorpius. He is something. As for Ginny\'s anger, Embellished and I really struggled to get that right, and while I tried to make it as followable as I could under Draco\'s POV, you\'re going to have to wait until next chapter to see where that\'s coming from. And big things are coming in terms of those demons, that\'s all I can say. Thanks for yet another spectacular review!
Ginny’s future stretches on in two different directions. Which path will she choose?Category: Long and Completed
Wow! For a relatively short chaptered fic, you managed to show some incredible depth like with the little conversations Ginny had with Dumbledore. That passage from the Bible at the end is one of my favorites, Oprah even quoted it in one of her shows a week or two ago.
I hope more readers discover this well-written gem. I certainly appreciate that you posted the whole thing at once and not made us wait. I look forward to enjoying more of your work. Thank you.
Author's Response: Yes, that is definitely one of my favorite Bible passages. And as a reader I am partial to fic that is already finished. So, while as a writer I am inclined to draw out the suspense, I know that as a reader I am much more inclined to read something that is already finished. Thank you very much for your comments.
*DH SPOILERS* Draco and Ginny discover that it is never too late to find true love.Category: Long and Completed
after reading a story by Lunaeyes who was giving credit to your terrific beta skills led me to remember what a terrific writer you also are - which made me check out this story. so sorry that i'm just reviewing for the first time because i love that this is fully compliant.
wow, draco is falling in love "for the first time" in his long life! i like seeing the vulnerable draco in stories, and you write it so well. the idea of them getting together this late in life is something new and interesting, i'm enjoying it. thanks for continuing to come up with wonderful fics, and the regular updates.
Author's Response: I'm glad that you are enjoying the story and it's concept so much! Draco really is vulnerable--he's being faced with something new when he least expected it. (So is Ginny for that matter!) Thank you for reading and for the review!
w00t !!! (2007 word of the year which means an exclamation of joy or triumph... or nothing at all). in this case, definitely a well deserved shout of joy & triumph for this chapter.
i love ginny's response to draco's tantrum so they were able to resolve things quickly, but love even better her boldness and no-nonsense 'suggestion' that sure stunned draco. giggles about their snogging session - lightheaded with giddiness and lack of oxygen - now that's too precious a vision. sighs at the simple but touching proposal. they're engaged!!! thanks for the quick update. i understand now why you had to cut the last chapter right where you did... very effective!
Author's Response: Thank you! Those were all details I liked too, so I'm glad you noticed them! I'm also happy that you approve of where I broke the chapters--Draco's fit of pique wouldn't have been nearly as effective otherwise. Thanks for the review!
wonderful! you wrote the whole scene so well, it's like i'm watching a movie in my mind. i'm picturing scorpius to be an entertaining (dramatic entrance), funny (justine-speak), genial version of draco despite his school rivalry with albus whom i'm blaming for it, if he's more obstinate than harry. but i'm glad albus came around, and his offer to give ginny away is just the right touch (heart, heart!). now i'm off to search yahoo for a ginger biscuit recipe... your description is such that i can almost taste it.
you're brilliant as usual, but... only one short chapter left!!! make it a long one pleeaassee. thank you.
Author's Response: Thanks you! Scorpius took on a life of his own in this story--he refused to be the person I had in mind. I'm glad he turned out so well! By the way, there's a really excellent recipe for Molasses cookies at the end of my story "Baking Lessons"--they've got ginger in them in addition to the molasses, and I highly recommend them!
wow! the way you presented it in draco's pov after the wedding has taken place worked so well! your description of draco's feelings throughout is so incredibly touching. i'll take a sappy draco anytime. ginny's statement that 'she feels like her whole life has been leading towards this, to him' - somehow erased the sour taste that the canon epilogue left me. you gave it just the right touch of humor and details, and the ending... perfection!
omg, it's over! i'll definitely look forward to more of your work in the future. meanwhile, i'm off to r&r your other stories. btw, i printed-out the mollasses cookie recipe you recc'd in your 'Baking Lessons' fic. i'm making them this wkend and wl let you know when i review that story. you're one very talented writer. fantastic job on this one!!!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the story so much. We all need something to help forget the epilogue, so I'm glad this worked for you. Enjoy the cookies, and thanks again for reviewing!
*Final chapter added* Parenting can be overwhelming, even for wizards. Especially when there are teenagers involved. Draco and Ginny, summoned to Hogwarts for a conference with their children's Head of House, share an interlude neither can forget.Category: Completed Short Stories
So enjoyable! I'm sure everyone who reads this will be left wanting for more like I was, a true testament to a well-written story. So, maybe a one-shot sequel for valentines(?), now that would be terrific. You're a very creative writer, I certainly enjoyed all your stories.
No pressure, but I hope you are still gonna continue the intriguing and brilliant Occam's Razor? Meanwhile, thanks for this wonderful Christmas gift. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Author's Response: The new chappie for Occam\'s Razor is going up Christmas Eve, because I\'m an admin and I fully intend to abuse my posting-while-submissions-are-closed privileges. ;D I wanted the chapter to coincide with when it occurs in the story.
Thank you for such a lovely review! There will be one additional chapter to tie certain things up in this story; it\'ll go up around New Year\'s.
After the war had finished, many of the Wizarding World’s finest heroes found themselves in need of a little extra help. That is where Healer Damion J. Lukinwinner of St. Mungo’s Mental Stability Ward comes in. He works with only the highest profile cases helping the best of the best get back to normal. Unfortunately it has been a rough day for him, and his most difficult patient is still yet to come.Category: Completed Short Stories
This is what happens when you’re the daughter of a psychologist
lol... this is so precious! of course, i was only too willing to play the guessing game as to who the mystery patient was. damaged as oppose to tortured, and save as oppose to redeem clued me in. but wait, he bought a ring with the bigger diamond! hmm, but then he's also the one who doesn't listen so no idea what she likes... ha-ha!
humor is not usually what you write you say? could've fooled me... that said, next time you're bored again feel free to stray from angst. poor ron btw. you're brilliant. thanks for the laugh.
Author's Response: Yes, poor Ron. I felt bad doing that to him, but I felt like it fit in with the rest of the story. And, no... I don\'t write humor. I have the feeling I will be returning to my angsty little hide away some time very soon :-) But thanks for the review!
Were you demanding a clear ending to 'Interlude'? Then this is what you wanted.Category: Completed Short Stories
fluffsters unite! w00t!!!
you're an amazing author! (stands up & bows 3x in front of the computer like crazy) like molly, i was wondering about the awkwardness of the lily & scorpius situation too, so that was a good way to go, at least for the meantime (winks). credits to CCC and a horde of others for bitching... lol! thank you for this closure, now we can all move on... or not! after all ginny maybe pregnant, that screams sequel right? sorry, can't resist.
