Midterms are totally an apocalypse.

I just barely survived midterms, and I'm waiting to hear if Megh made it through. We haven't deserted the site, but it's been a rough month. Just to let y'all know in advance, this will happen again during finals. Anyway, in the meantime, if there's something we need to know, shoot an email. If you don't hear back from me within two days, shoot me another one, as I either didn't get it or meant to reply but lost it in my inbox.

I hope your midterms went well! I finished mine two weeks ago and they were killers.
I'm glad to see you guys back though! You were thoroughly missed!

I just finished a 51 page thesis and the first thing I did was check the site. Pathetic? Er, or devoted? Well I hope your midterms and finals were better than this. My roommate found me sleeping in chairs, standing up, wherever these past few weeks!

Okay, now I feel like a total wimp. 51 page thesis? I quiver at the very thought.

Here we call 'em memoir(e)s (but I go to a bilingual school). Theses here are 100 pages and are often for those who wish to do their Ph.D (hence why I did not choose a thesis) -- plus you have to defend your thesis!

I'm right there with you, girls. Midterms were intended to soften us up for the end of the semester crunch which were enacted to leave us nearly dead for finals.

All of that with a massive case of senioritis resting on my shoulders! I hope y'all are faring better than I am!

Well, I'm still an undergrad. For graduate students, their dissertation has to be at least 100 pages. I quoted from a master's dissertation that was nearly 200 pages long. And of course, you have to defend yourself against the entire English panel. I quiver at THAT thought. I did a thesis because once upon a time, I did want to get a PhD. Now, I think I'll stick with the JD.

200 page MA dissertation...and they allowed it? lol. I know Ph.D dissertations are 300 pages, so what in God's name made that person write a 200 page dissertation for an MA? lol. Oh my.
Luckily, in these wacky bilingual schools you can choose to do a memoir, which means only 50 pages and you don't have to defend your memoir. It means more classes, but hey, I'm all for that as long as I don't have to defend it!
