I am impressed by how well you brought forward the influences from the other books and integrated them seamlessly into this story. Well done! This is the first fanfic I ever read in the Draco/Ginny ship and, unfortunately for many of the other stories out there, the one I use as my 'yardstick' to see how they measure up. The High Clan, the Veil, and the characterizations of the protagonists have brought me back to read more than once. Thank you.

What a complicated plot!
But my gosh, I enjoyed reading this a lot. Very cleverly written, and I will be back to read it some time in the future, for sure.

Holy cow...I can't believe I'm the first to review in almost a year! I've read this story before and I was still crossing my fingers at the trial, hoping Draco would be able to pull it all off! :) Excellent characterizations - I especially enjoy watching Ginny go from the sheltered, frustrated girl to a woman secure in herself and beginning to understand the world in a new way. I'm impressed with the amount of thought that has obviously gone into the High Clan concepts and traditions. The connection between the lord and his land and people reminds me of Philippa Gregory's Wideacre trilogy, when the darkness within corrupts the bond and has to be cleansed. You've written a really fantastic story and I look forward to more in the future.
My one tiny issue: although Unforgiven can stand well on its own, I'd love to see a link to The Bastard Malfoy and The Greater Good or the Lesser Evil before chapter seven. I think having the backstory gives it that much more depth.

The plot of this entire story was fantastic - it was incredibly well thought out, but you still managed to include so much emotion from each character... great job!

...wow. This story is amazing.I think its incredible that you came up with a story with the bits and pieces you 'gathered' from things you read from various books, incorporated real history (The Battle of Hastings in 1066, if I'm not mistaken) and ideas from your own imagination! Really well done on a great story! Cheers xo

"Such a small price, really, for a social revolution."
I adored this line.
I must admit, I am rather impressed that you have woven so many intricate concepts and themes together so seamlessly.
Once upon a time, he was drowning in euphoria, his life pleasant and irenic and perfectly wonderful, but now the lines between good and evil are stilted. Uncertainty is key. Walls are melting away, and everything merges and blends until he can’t tell right from wrong. What he once was so sure of, what once was foolproof and perfect and so dependable, crumbles beneath his feet, and he’s falling, falling hard and fast, and it hurts, oh, how it hurts. He doesn’t understand—white and black are merely shades of grey now, and the infallible tumbles from its pedestal.
They mangled, and tore, and wounded the Covenant. They sought to destroy all he lived for.
It’s so drafty lying there and he feels hopeless as something unnamable whirls and twirls before him—there is no quick wit, no brevity, no clairvoyance to tantalize his spirit or anyone else’s and he looks towards his heroes, terrified.
And so he dances, dances around the answers until his feet burn off his legs and the fervor in his veins stills. The world a blur, he twirls and twirls and watches as their colorful solutions take him in their arms. Shades of gold and silver and magnificent royal red, they whisper into his ear, and so he falls into them, into Ginny, destined to be their guardian.
Although you were inspired by a variety of books, you've pulled off this plot without a hitch. The whole thing is beautiful and candid and simply sweeps me off my feet.
Your writing style is unique-- there were lines I was simply blown away by-- the aforementioned being one of them.
His murky sobs tell twisting tales within themselves; he speaks volumes of fantasy and loneliness, of experimentation and change. Draco’s voice is honest and jagged; it’s realistic. He is the polar side of ordinary, of all things sane and sensible.
You write some of the most delightful fiction I've read in years.
(I am simply enamored with such heavy, foreboding plot twists.)
This is beyond words, but I will try to describe it as best I can.
When I read something so poignant and captivating and utterly thrilling, it delights me beyond belief. I thrive on writing like yours; it is the sort of thing that nourishes the soul.
Also, I love how your writing evolved throughout the story. At the beginning, I must admit, I was skeptical about reading this, simply because I assumed it would be another “Ginny’s-gross-but-now-she’s-hot” type thing.
I’m so pleased it wasn’t.
Oh, I just love the intricate little details that define the High Clan. It makes me wish I were a Malfoy; aristocratic and charming, dangerously reasonable, with features that scream perfection.
You, my dear, have won my heart.
Bravo.

I'm speechless. This fanfiction has all the wonderful goodness of my favorite science fiction novels. Plus it has all my utter love for being Harry Potter fanfiction. I hesitate to even call it fanfiction, because this is so much more than that. It easily stands on it's own two feet.
In fact, if it wasn't a fanfiction I could see this as a published novel, and a published novel I would own.

Exceptional. Your characters were well developed and captivating- and you balanced the dark with the light very well, a hard feat for any author to accomplish. As much as I loved reading your fanfiction- you should be writing your own fiction. Kudos for such a worthy feat.

This story was very captivating. It held so much suspense that you could not stop reading. Although this story was unusual to the original Harry Potter series, it held some good points and references to the stories. This is a story I may never forget and will always praise.
Author's Response: Thank you! I didn't intend to make the plot so spectacular, in the beginning, but I think the story ran away from me...

Your story was too magnificent for words! But I will try. I haven't read your previous story and though for a while I felt that I would be completely clueless reading further chapters alleviated me of that fear. Your story was flawlessy written: in diction, grammar, and in the emotion you gave for and from the characters.
I was so upset it ended but I did like how you ended it :-D
Maybe you will write another one *hopeful look*
Either way I know I will coming back to read this story again for the sheer and wonderful pleasure of it.
