Your writing just gets stronger with every chapter. I love this twist/new development. I like how Ginny is becoming a little more like Malfoy (snapping at the house elf) but I do worry about her relationship with her family. Great job!

I was thinking proposing is what he would do... I think she will agree to it, but maybe not for the right reasons- just like he isn't asking for necessarily the right reasons. She's right- there is something between them, and maybe along the way they will figure it out. I think they genuinely have come to care for each other but would rather die a painful death than ever admit it. So, that could hinder things slightly ;)

Awww I love it! Gah, this fic is like my crack. I agree with her decision to wait and think about it; she'd be burning a lot of bridges with that one little word, "yes." I hope she does say yes!! I know our favorite redhead will work it out. Oh, and I love Draco in this chapter - he's not one for mushy sentiment (and neither am I for that matter). I can't wait for the next chapter!

Wow, even though I suspected Draco would twist the contract that way, I wasn't sure you would actually do it! I adored this chapter. It was so sweet and real. You could have just made her give him an answer but the fact that she chose to think about it, makes it more realistic. I loved when Ginny imagined how he would react to a "no" but then wondered how he would react to "yes"- what a sweet line... I'm desperately hanging off the edge of my seat for her answer- I hope it's a yes! Now *that* would be an interesting twist and I'd love to see Ron's reaction!

Hmmm...I am intrigued by the way you've characterized both Draco and Ginny and their angry, passionate, hissing attraction for each other. Of course she wants him to tell her he loves her, but in keeping with the tenor of their relationship, she tells herself and him it doesn't matter. I will stick a toe out over the edge by wondering what the fallout of this engagement will be (because I believe she will say yes - with her family practically shoving her towards him). Is Draco using her to further his goals for his father's release from Azkaban? Yes. Will he fall in the web he's cast for her and find himself head over heels "in love" with her and actually go through with the marriage? One can only hope. And what about this thing with Pansy? He needs her help as well, and while he has genuine warmth and affection for her, I do not believe it is along the lines that Pansy wants it to be. That part of him is already given to Ginny, whether or not he knows it.
On another note, I love the way you've portrayed Draco's relationship with Pansy. It's real and complex and many layered. She doesn't serve the usual one dimensional shrew that we've all seen too many times before. Her relationship with this older wizard is brilliant.
Speaking of brilliant, Draco's messy room was brilliant and befitting the Draco you've created. Somehow, things haven't quite turned out the way his parents had planned. He's in the middle of this mess but finding his way along quite nicely. How fitting that he chose that place to propose to her and that she found it "cosier" and more revealing of the true Draco than any other place in the Malfoy house.
I am also enjoying your writing. It is clear, concise and well-paced. So, that is what I have to say after 22 glorious chapters! I apologize for not reviewing earlier, but in my own self defense, I hopped on the train late - at Chapter 19 to be exact! - fallenwitch

Wonderful. I had wanted her to say yes but I think the delay was well done. It provided some great insight to Draco's character and a better transition to 'that' stage. Absolutely great chapter.

AAAHHH! So which one is he using? I really like the way you portray pansy in this, by the way, she's not nasty and shrewish like in others.
Author's Response: Yeah, I've grown to like Pansy, so I gave her a purpose in this, even though she can't be Draco's lover :) She's interesting, and she's his friend, so she needs to be there.

i love it how ginny has the balls ot stand up against her parents but i think it really is in her character to do it. i love your story! i just added it to my favorites so i would know whenever there is a new chapter up. i wonder how draco would work that illicit affair? there are so many plot twists and loop holes and i love all of it. i like your writing style, keep it up and update soon. thanks for writing it!

Author's Response: Well, they are her parents, but they also have an agenda of their own, of course, which includes keeping Lucius in prison. But Ginny isn't going to play along with what they want any more, at this point ;-)
