I'm an Asti Spoumante kind if girl - what would Draco say to that?

Author's Response: Hm. I would guess that early in the story, he would turn up his nose, but by the end, he would just shrug his shoulders and leave you to it. Thanks for reading!

Not only do I love the story I especially love your knowledge of wines! I just recently started drinking wine and I love learning about wine as a whole.

Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed both parts! I hope you have as much fun with drinking wine as I do!

This is a lovely story, and I most particularly like your tasing notes! I felt sorry for poor old Amber - though I guess she was clueless - you could have given her a nice riesling, most restaurants with brilliant wine lists have them, and then Draco would've been OK too - depending on what he was eating, of course. My strategy, when eating out with someone who prefers sweeter, cheapish wines is to buy two bottles - then neither have to suffer!

Author's Response: A Riesling might have done the trick, though I can't imagine Draco drinking anything off-dry. He strikes me as a dry-wine-with-dinner-or-sweet-wine-with-dessert kind of guy. Thanks for reading and for the reviews!

Quite a delight as usual, E. :) What's YOUR favorite wine, and a good dish that goes along with it? And the tips are very much appreciated -- I love the exposure. Now, if only we could find a way to explore the tastes and scents via Internet... :)

(haha And the metrosexual snobby post-Hogwarts Draco is quite a good one, Phaedra!) :)

Author's Response: Hm. Well, I, like Draco, appreciate some variety in my wine selection (though not in my love life!). My favorite red would probably be a Syrah, though it isn't clear what kind. Syrahs go with anything that is fairly richly flavored. For whites, I like a Sauvignon Blanc, preferably from New Zealand. I often drink white wine with fish. Anyway, that is probably more than you wanted to know! Thanks for reading.

I'm really enjoying the enormous attention to details [and the challenge of keeping up with said details!] that this story presents. Even the endnotes are enjoyable - I'm too young to go wine-tasting or anything like that, but my grandfather is a wine connoisseur, and I've always found it interesting. Keep going!

Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying the level of detail. It is hard to know where to draw the line. Thanks for reading and for the review.

At least Draco has an excuse to go back and try some of that licorice-note Burgundy in the company of someone who challenges him. Again, a beautifully light story. I think that the upscale urban, metrosexual snob persona works well for a post-Hogwarts, post-war Draco---whether his snobbery is over wine, art, objets de vertu, or social rituals. I like that Ginny can best him at this skill, and I hope she puts him through the paces in the other areas, too. Thanks again for including the wine tips. They are a pleasure to read.

Author's Response: I like your description of Draco! I'm not sure I would have put it that way, but it certainly fits. And I'm glad that you are enjoying the information about the wine as well as the story. Thanks for reading and for the review.

Yet another fine chapter. This story makes me wish I was twenty-one already so I can experience all these wines for myself. Alas...a year and three months to go.

Author's Response: Thank you for the reminder that there are advantages to being my age, even if I hardly ever get carded anymore. Sigh. Anyway, I am glad that you are still enjoying the story, even if it is causing you to yearn for what you can't yet have. (That sounds overly dramatic, but I am too tired to think of something more straightforward to say.) Thanks for reading and for the review.

I find this story to be quite intriguing. Being someone who knows absolutely nothing about wine, I'm finding an addition interest in learning about the many different kinds through this story. Great job so far. I'm curious to see where this goes. Please update again soon.

Author's Response: I'm glad you are enjoying the story so far. Thanks for reading and for the review.

Wow, that's serious wine skills. I find this higly amusing, and I'd have to say that I find your Draco auristocratic and whatnot enough to still be Draco for me. He's not right on, but he's not painfully out of character, so it works. Good job.

Author's Response: It is amazing what a little research can do to make you seem smart! I'm glad you like this Draco. It is hard to write something light that is also consistent with canon, so I'm happy that I have been at least moderately successful. Thanks for reading and for the review.

wow that a lot of info... you know your stuff!!

Author's Response: I know a fair amount, but I also am fairly handy with Google... Thanks for reading.

I think I may e-mail you the next time I need to decide what wine to have with dinner. :)

Author's Response: Hee hee. If you do, I'll certainly give you an opinion. It might not be a good one, but I guess you'll have to take your chances! :)

the plot is thickening, or should I say the wine is brewing (is that even right? does wine brew?) lol...I liked this chapter - Draco's flabbergastation is fabulous

Author's Response: Wine doesn't brew--it ferments. And it is funny that you should ask about that because the next chapter title is "Fermentation." I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter, and I had fun writing Draco's shock. Thanks for reading and for the review.

wow I love wine! and it's nice to learn a thing or to reading your story! Have you had Ice wine before? The Trockenbeenauslese reminded me a bit of it, but the grape is frozen on the vine. It is a sweet desert wine. Canada has some good ones. Can't wait till your next update.

Author's Response: Yes, I have had ice wine, including some from Canada. Trockenbeerenauslesen can sometimes be an ice wine, I think, though usually it is infected with Botrytis so they don't have to leave the grapes on the vines that long. I'm glad you are enjoying the story (and learning something along the way). Thanks for reading and for the review.

Yay! The first real D-G interaction of the fic was really, really good. I thought they moved naturally from hostility to camaraderie. Their reactions to Amber's wine choice were very telling.

I'm really looking forward to the next chapter! Though the fic is a bit heavy on the wine-talk (this chapter in particular, of course), I guess that's your thing; and it does, after all, set it apart from the rest of the fics here.

Author's Response: I'm glad that you found the D-G interaction to be realistic. And this chapter is probably has the most technical wine talk of the whole story, so hopefully you won't feel too weighed down for long. Thanks for reading and for the reviews.

Ha ha ha - Nice twist with Ginny being the Sommelier! But all this wine talk is frying my brain! Call me a philistine if you like but I'm a Vodka girl myself! Ha ha ha When are we going to get on to the amusing D/G banter and the inevitable dinner date in which they aregue good naturedly about wine all the way through then shag like porn stars?
By the way, I am really liking Draco's characterisation - you've done a lovely job with his internalisations and the narrative is spot on. Great work.

Author's Response: Vodka certainly has its place. And I also am rather fond of beer. But I don't think I could write a whole story centered around either one of them. :) But anyway, I am glad that you are enjoying the story. I tend to feel insecure about characterizations, so it is nice to know that you think Draco's is working. Thanks for reading and for the review.

Great fun! I hope to see more soon!

Author's Response: I'm glad you are enjoying the story so far. I will post the next chapter as soon as I can, but it may be several days. Thanks for reading and for the review.

I'm feeling very smart having read the two updates! And there I was thinking that wine was just a simple alcoholic beverage. Boy, was I wrong!
It's nice seeing Draco and Ginny "bond" over wine, and think about it, it's quite funny. Ginny a sommelier (sp?)... Draco and Ginny having an obsession in wine... Draco comparing women to wine..It makes me giggle- in a good way of course!

Author's Response: I'm glad that the story makes you giggle, and is making you feel smarter too. Thanks for reading and for the review.

LOL I love this. Draco and Ginny are so made for each other. Loved their twin expressions of horror at the wine selection. More soon! :)

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked that bit--they need to find *something* to bond over. :) Thanks for reading and for the review.
