Author's Response: Thank you; it will be sad for awhile, I fear. As for the ages-- first two chapters, Scorpius grows from 7 years to 9. He is narrating the story 5 years after The Horrible Thing, when he's 14.

Tears baby! I am in love with the story and the whole thing is just great. I enjoy the way you are writing through the eyes of Scorpius and the emotional roller coaster he is in just because of what he said to her. I wonder if he realizes that Draco hates Ginny because she couldnt be with Draco. Why wasnt she with Draco? Does Draco blame Ginny for not being with him? Is she with Harry? What happened? Loving it and I cannot wait to read the next chapter.

another great chapter
i love the fact that we see the story from scorpius' point of view
just a quick quesion: ginny isn't married to harry and has 3 kids right-cause it says hte fic is fully compliant so i think you might mean until DH without the whole epilogue
anyways i can't wait for more chapters
Author's Response: Thank you! You're quite right, that is related to the "slight discrepancy" I mentioned first chapter-- Ginny's and Harry's children do not exist in this story. I'll explain a bit more of that later in the story.

Great start! I'm not usually a fan of first-person narratives, but this is working, a testament to how well you're pulling it off. And judging by some of your responses to other reviews, you're going to make us suffer more, and worse; please just make it worth it in the end! ;)
Author's Response: Thank you!! I actually don't usually write first-person, either. But somehow it seemed appropriate for Scorpius' voice and for his story. As for the suffering...well...I'll do my best to make it worth it!

Author's Response: Well...he IS Draco Malfoy! I felt the same way while writing this, though, LOL-- like screaming at Scorpius and Draco, trying to stop it from happening. But of course, characters will do what they will. (and I can't lie and say I don't enjoy it!)

I wouldn't say it's one of my fave fics, now, but it sure got my imagination working! And what more can you ask for from fiction, really?

Mmmm. Well if it's even half as good as Masquerade was... it'll be a fantastic story! Good start, I like how it was from Scorpius's POV, that's not something I've seen as of yet.

I love that this is from Scorpius's view. It's a unique quality. I also think you hit the nail on the head with the characterizations. The dialogue, and inner dialogue are very captivating. I like it, keep up the great work.
Author's Response: Thank you so much-- I haven't read anything from his POV, either, but I thought it'd be interesting to see that relationship between Ginny and a Malfoy. Inner dialogue is going to be pretty heavy as the story goes on, so hopefully others will find it captivating, too!
