E Pur Si Muove - Narcissa Malfoy

Narcissa Malfoy (nee Black)

Age: I am not ashamed to say that I am fifty years of age. You can be sure that if I looked my age I might be ashamed, but I have been told I look as if I were a mere thirty-five, so I shall not complain.
Birthdate: November 9, 1955.
Family background: Daughter of Cygnus Black (Druella Rosier), son of Pollux Black (Irma Crabbe), son of Cygnus Black (Violetta Bulstrode), son of Phineas Nigellus Black (Ursula Flint). Sister to Bellatrix Lestrange, who died in the Battle of Hogwarts, and to one Andromeda Tonks, whom we do not speak of. I am also married to Lucius Malfoy, whose family line can be traced back nearly as far as my own.
House in School: Slytherin.
Bloodline (and does it matter?): Do I need to reiterate the lineage? Of course it matters. The only people who say it doesn't are those who have dirty blood in their lineages. I could name names, but I won't.
Political Views: Toujours Pur. Ante Omnis Mea Familia. Thus, I support the politics that will leave my family alone or, preferably, better off. I believe that the time is right for a change. Even the Potter boy knew it. And everyone knows that he's a bit slow on the uptake, politically speaking at least.

Appearance
Visual Representation: Nicole Kidman
Description: Narcissa has been described as haughty, but upon taking one look at her, it cannot be denied that she is quite entitled to be so. She has delicate features, and long blonde hair that always looks immaculate. Her clothing is always created specifically for her by the best in Wizard's fashions. She has blue eyes and thin lips, but has an air of confidence that draws eyes towards her. Narcissa has kept herself in very good shape, of course.

Psychology and Personality
Sexuality: Hello, darlings, but have you seen the man I'm married to? Quite enough has been said about my sex life, I think.
Strengths and Weaknesses: I have a very good intuition as to people's dispositions, which has always served me well. There are moments in which I can draw all eyes to myself, though I'm quite capable of blending in, as well, though that takes considerably more work. As to weaknesses, well, you must think me naive to speak so candidly about such things. (Nicole would like to point out that Cissa actually has highly sensitive wrists. If she is writing for too long, her wrists will ache. Other weaknesses are her men, whom she would kill for.)
Habits\Quirks: When agitated, Narcissa drums her fingernails on the closest surface. She has kept every article about her family, good or bad. She's secretly proud of the fact that there are so many; and most of them are very good. Especially since her son is so very good at what he does. She collects parasols, and has one from nearly every place she's visited.
Likes\Dislikes: I have a passion for gardening. I love my family. I enjoy horseback riding, and attempt to go riding at least every other day. I hate, with a great, fiery passion, cats. I may have been known to kick them if they get too close. I'm not a fan of dogs either, but I can tolerate them. Until they drool on me. Then they become handbags. *fingers wand* The worst animal in the world, however, is undoubtably hippogryffs.

Lifestyle
Occupation: Socialite, I suppose, if you must put a name to it.
Financial Status: Well, not to brag, but I could buy out every store I frequent, and we'd still be considered well off. I have my own holdings, as well, thanks to the Black inheritance.
Residence: Malfoy Manor, Wiltshire.

History from student days at Hogwarts to the present time: Narcissa graduated from Hogwarts with good marks, most notably in Charms and History of Magic. She spent a year abroad, as was the custom, and married Lucius Malfoy soon after. She gave birth to Draco when she was 25; he has always been her pride and joy, especially once it became apparent she could not have another child. From early in her marriage, she was always known for her planning and execution of several charity balls, and came to be renowned for her humanitarian side, in the papers.

That changed after the Dark Lord reappeared. Her son was away at Hogwarts, where she hoped he would remain safe. Unfortunately, her husband was called back into active service. After an incident in the Department of Mysteries, Lucius was incarcerated, and Narcissa's loyalty was put to the test. While Lucius was in Azkaban, the Dark Lord attempted to punish him by giving her son an impossible task. She approached the one person she trusted to put Draco above petty revenge. The situation made her rethink all that she had learned about marriage and where her loyalties lay.

When her husband was restored to her, it took her a fair bit of time to forgive him for getting so caught up in the Dark Lord's plans to the detriment of the family. She reiterated the need for family to be their first priority. During the Battle of Hogwarts, she lied to the Dark Lord, thus giving Potter the edge he needed to win. It was only something that she saw as logical; there was nothing to be gained for the Malfoy family by the Dark Lord winning the war.

After the war was declared over, Lucius took Narcissa on a sort of second honeymoon, including trips to Milan. Now she is content to spend her days in the garden or hosting tea, as required. She is happy with Lucius, and considers all to be well. She has had some slight apprehension about Draco's choice in girlfriend, but is willing to set them aside for her son's happiness. She thinks occasionally on what it would be like to have a grandchild to spoil.
