Red and Dray

Oh, how did this girl get into my heart?
Smart as I am how did I let her in?
When Father finds out – he's going to explode –
Trainload of trouble is coming my way!
Say, I could tell him I'm under a spell –
Well, it's the truth and the spell is called love!
Of that I am certain, I can't deny –
Why then should I care what anyone thinks?
Chinks in my armor are starting to show.

I think I love him! He's such a bad boy!
Coy – I played with him for such a long while!
Smile! Every time I think of him I do.
True, our families will never like it –
Bit by bit, we might sway them to our side.
Pride will be the one thing that stops his folks.
Jokes are flying freely about us too –
Do they think we care about what they say?
May they find a true love just like my guy!

Her hair – fiery red and soft to the touch,
Such wonderful mem'ries it brings to mind!
Kind of like flames dancing wild in the grate.
Fate led me to him – got lost in his gaze.
Days on end I dreamt of his eyes so grey –
Hey, even so icy they warmed my soul!
Bowl me over when I see her sweet face.
Grace he exudes – just like that of a cat.
That's why from our love we'll never deter!

The End.
