Fire and Ice
A Poem

XXXXXXX

it was a most requited, secret love
and he thought her his entice
b'cause surely opposites do attract
for she was fire and he ice

through his veins flowed
her laughter like the most secret drug
giving cliche to his beating heart
that old familiar tug

but he'd never utter a word
to single person, soul, or friend
for this was knowledge privy to none
a secret which he would not attend

and while she was passion
he was as stagnant as stone
and always in the centre of crowds
he was isolated, removed, and alone

she belonged to him in all respects
as if her to him a spell bound
and in the chocolate eyes of purity
all of himself was finally found
