The Antidote

We watched from above as they cried over our forms
And we watched them with pain
Through the harsh wind storm
But we decided here that are deaths would not be in vain

We watched as they buried us together beneath the ground
Writing the last words on our graves
Tossing the last of the roses around
And crying the last tears in waves

We watched the following years
And smiled as lovers like us were free
No longer did lovers have to love in fears
And this made us more than happy

On our graves inscribed in gleaming stone
Were the words of our friends and families
Together creating a message to atone
For all our hidden journeys

“Love is a gift and should never have to hide
No matter the hearts involved.
For here is a couple that died
For a problem, we should’ve solved.

Nothing shall define you
So let equality for love always stand true.”
The End.
