I'm a rabid fan of anything Draco, Ginny, or Luna and any combination of the above. I beta for a couple of Draco/Ginny fics, but haven't yet writen anything I can post here.

Besides that I'm obsessed with all things Japanese (especially Dir en grey, a slightly deranged Japanese rock band), musicals (Rent and Wicked are currently fighting over the top spot on my list of obsessions.), and emo boys kissing.

Shall Rise Again by Peki    (Reviews - 292)

Sequel to Break in the sun (till the sun breaks down). For a few blissful hours, the differences between them did not matter. But as Draco and Ginny struggle with their budding relationship, they must soon discover that many things separate them still - family, friends and society as well as their own explosive tempers. The future they want for themselves comes at a price, and reconciling what they each want out of life is a challenge that might just break them apart...

Yay. I really liked that. I was worried Ginny would give in, and then I couldn't really respect her anymore. Lovely job. Keep it up.

Author's Response: Thank you for this comment, I\'m glad you think so. I\'ve had people say that Ginny was behaving selfishly, in past chapters, but I do think she has a valid point, with her protests against Draco\'s ideas of justice. So I felt this fight was necessary, and I\'m happy it came across believably :)

"That's interesting, because I love you, too". I guess that's one way to drop the bomb. ^_^

This is interesting, if not completely believeable, but I guess you could pull for it, as the currnet state of Draco's mind in cannon is a matter of interpretation. Good job.

Hahaha. That last line was great.

I was a little worried during these first few chapters, I've read them so many times before (though your writing of them is veyr good), but I think I'm starting to see a very different storyline. Good for you. I did sense one issue. Draco seems to be a little more comfortable than I'd expect here, but then again, he did just about what I think I would do. So it's realistic. Just make sure you keep that consistent. He can deal with people naturally. He just doesn't make a habit of it.

I wrote a story by this name. It's sweet, but it seems, at least from just reading this, a little too complacent for Ginny. I also don't think her family would kick her out. They might not be happy, but they love each other too muhc to be that heartless because of one stupid thing like that could have been.

Author's Response: I'm not sure exactly how Ginny is complacent. Because she let Draco leave her? Because she didn't fight her family kicking her out? I agree that I don't really think the Weasley's WOULD kick Ginny out. That was the one part of this one-shot that never really rang true for me, but I left it because I wanted to portray her yearning for the past and her lack of support. That was probably overkill, and this is definitely not how I would write Ginny now five thousand years later. XP

I like the whole Voldemort wins idea, though I must admit, it ibecomes less potenent the more it is used. Still, I admit I have never read a fic where Ginny is a dancer, and I keep thinking Mimi from the musical RENT. ("It's a living.") She's one of my dream roles, and that alone intrigues me in it's connection to this story.

I can see this taking off well, and can't wait to see more. Keep up the good work.

I had a hard time telling the difference between the fic and the AN at the first. You might want to put a bar either at the top of your fic or the bottom of the AN as well as a few more spaces for clarity.

Other than that, this seems good. Keep it up.

You know, there is nothing wrong with having Lucius not care about Draco and willing to do anything for the Dark Lord. It's the lack of reason that some authors put behind him that's the real problem. Anyway, you shouldn't have to justify yourself to the readers because a good part of us could never help to write as well as you do. Trust yourself.

Sorry I didn't review the last chapter. I'll try to make up for it with a longer one this time, okay?

This is an interesting new twist on the 'Voldemort wins' idea. I find I quite like it. Just make sure you keep Draco mean. He just threatened to kill her. He's not going to fall in love with her in a week. And Ginny was just kidnapped. This is going well, but it could easily want to go faster than it should. Watch out for that.

Keep it up. This is good writing.

Author's Response: I\'ve written up to chapter eight already, so I can\'t really comment on the rate that the love comes into it without giving away some of the plot. Don\'t worry thou, I know what you mean, I hate it too when the characters fall in love too quickly and obviously it will take time for Ginny to come to trust Malfoy. Thanks for reviewing.

That's interesting. I love the idea that Draco's obssessed with Ginny, though you probably should realize this is kind of AU, because if what happened in the 6th book happened, this wouldn't be entirely plausible. Either the order helped Draco, in which case, Ginny would know Draco all too well, or Draco ran didn't in which case he should be punished, or hiding. I don't think it would be that easy. But it's such a small fic at the moment that I'm sure you can get around that, or declare it AU, if you still want to. I'll keep my eyes out for updates. Good luck.

Author's Response: I suppose it is AU. But I don\'t understand what you mean by \"Ginny would know Draco all too well.\" Draco\'s not evil. But they\'re not friends. Why would they be?

This is an interesting way to do this, a triology of one shots. I haven't ever seen that before. That's probably because I read very few one shots. They lack plot, and it takes an enourmous amount of talent to engage an audience so quickly. But, this does that. It does have some serious characterization issues. I don't think either Draco or Ginny make much sense, as of HBP, though with enough background, I'm sure they could. The issue is that a one shot doesn't give you that opportunity, but since this is a triology, I look for more thought through characters.

Author's Response: Thank you for your input. These oneshots are not HBP compliant and I knew I was forgetting something. Even in my own head, there is no way I could have worked this out if they were. The original story was meant to be vague so Mistakes and the third part turned out to be more developed. Opinions are always helpful and I will take what you\'ve said to mind!

To answer your question, I think the last paragraph is necessary. It adds a new demention to their relationship, and heightens the emotional pull of what he's saying. That was interesting, though the "cold" thing confused me as it waws refering to Ginny and I've never heard her refered to as cold. Unless, of course, you mean dead.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review. Though I think I\'ve managed to confuse you (which is a blunder on my part in trying to be abstract. Sorry!). Draco is calling and thinking of Narcissa in the first paragraph. Ginny, however, is alive and sitting next to Draco at the hospital.

This was written before HBP, but after OOTP, right? So we should be aware that Ginny thinks Luna "isn't that bad". This quote from your story seems to show otherwise and I don't like how it downplay's the fact that though Ginny may have a temper among many other faults, she's a veyr understanding person, and not nearly as judgemental and Ron. One of the main reasons Ginny/Draco is (to me at least) much more likely than Ron/Pansy. But, then again, feel free to disagree.

"She noticed Ginny Weasley giving her
the standard you are so weird look."

On the other hand, I was very impressed with Blaise's character. She's a mystery already.

I can't wait for more.

Author's Response: Ginny doesn\'t think Luna\'s bad, just weird, lol, and you\'ll see that getting to know Luna makes Ginny and Blaise see the girl behind the image she projects and through shared experiences they become friends. I think you\'ll enjoy the progression and yay! you like Blaise! I think of her as *the other BZ* :D

Reviewer: Kisou Signed
Date: Oct 17, 2006 Title: Chapter 2: Let's Get it Started

You're doing a very good job with Luna. I've tried to write her multiple times, but there are parts of her I still can quite pin down and so I never can write anything I'm really happy with. Blaise is pulling through nicely too. Keep it going. Oh, and that bit about the first year was nice except that I think that they might have been a little young for that at eleven. I mean, I know some kids might be ready to go have heated snog sessions in the middle of the night at that age, but my guess is that many kids (especially someone like Ginny whose mother has some definete ideas about morals that I'm sure she's seen fit to install in her daughter) wouldn't be quite ready for that. Also, that would be her first year (his second), so it's chamber of secrets time and we know she's mooning for Harry. After that (I believe in book four) we learn that Hermione told her some time later (we don't know exactly when) that she should stop being so obssesed and stop dating other boys. In that process I can see complement being much more influential than they would have been at first. I would have placed it in her second or third year (books three or four) where she's a little older and we know less of what's going on with her. But listen to me, so sure I know what's best for your fic. In the end, I haven't any say, so you're welcome to ignore me.

Author's Response: Thanks! I really enjoy your input! I think of Luna as dreamy and otherworldly, and yet...she\'s a Ravenclaw, and smart enough to know how to use her eccentricity to get attention. She didn\'t sit in Harry\'s compartment by accident, lol.

I will bring up Ginny\'s crush on Harry, but Ginny wouldn\'t tell Hermione about Draco and no *heated snog session* was meant to be implied. Draco said she was pretty and wanted to get to know her better. (I can only seeing her falling for that first year, when she hadn\'t heard years of \'Malfoy\' stories. :D) For first and second years, that\'s talking and maybe she stayed past curfew, but not the middle of the night, so don\'t worry, she doesn\'t stray too far from Mum\'s morals. ^_^

The POTC reference may be one that some people simply can't resist. However, if you're going to put it in, try to make it somewhat sensible.

Okay, so that started sounding like Snape, so I finished it sounding like Snape for the fun of it. I love Pirates. And there was just a grammatical confusion or something resmebling it in the pirates sentence. Go give it a look over.

The characters are still going great, though I feel sorry for Boot. He's in for a long ride.

Author's Response: The course of true love running smooth would be boring, and I aim never to be boring, LOL. I\'m a Snape fan so I like the tone, lol, but looking it over, I think I shaped the sentence to fit sensibly, heh. I\'m glad you gave concrit, though, and I\'m not a writer who thinks her words sacred- I believe to err is human, to edit divine! :D

Awww. How adorable. I think I've gotten into this story enough to not have a shock every time Blaise isn't a boy. ^_^

By the way, did you ever tell us what year this is in? I mean, are you trying to have it parallel to the books (hense the radish earing are the same ones) or is this seventh year for Harry and Draco?

Author's Response: Aw, it makes my day to have you say that! (just remember to keep telling your inner Hermione \'this is that other BZ, :D)

Parallel is a great way to put it! The summary says this tale presents an alternate sixth year, and in the first chap, Blaise is described as \'the lone sixth year Slytherin stuck in a class with a bunch of fifth year Ravenclaws and Gryffindors\' but aside from that, I can\'t remember mentioning ages/years again, but I will, in future chaps, to help keep the story grounded. ^_^

I'm a litle confused about why Blaise and Draco are both angry at Terry. I mean, he didn't help her, but was he really in the position to do so. And besides, was it really that bad. I mean, I guess I really don't know. I am, according to many of my friends, devoid of any normal feelings of embaressment, so perhaps I'm not one to judge normal human behavior. But, I don't think Blaise is one to be that way either. And I don't see Terry as anything but brave. I mean, how many guys can go up to a girl at what? 17? and tell her they love her without stammering or all that crap. The potion didn't work that time, right?

Well, besides that problem, which probably comes from a lack of human feeling on my side, I think this is still coming along very nicely. Keep it up.

Author's Response: They\'re teenagers, Slytherin teenagers, :D, In Draco\'s case, vengeful when offended--but it works out well, because Terry is brave, and a good guy.

Good job. I love how you're working the Slytherin and the more human girl into Blaise. It works well. And I like you're Luna. Sometime's she's completely conherant, and sometimes, she just decides to drift off. It's a really interesting portrayal of her.

Author's Response: I really do see Luna as a sharp witted Ravenclaw...just a quirky and eccentric one, hee. I\'m so glad you like Blaise, since she\'s virtually an OC, and they\'re not always popular, lol.
