Before the Storm by Glass_Mermaid    (Reviews - 491)

*Winner of the Draco/Ginny Fanfiction Award for Best Novel Length Story.* "Perhaps not everything is as black and white as it appears. Perhaps, even my father was tangled in a web of his own emotions, and in the end it spelled his death. Perhaps I too will share his fate, dying not for the cause I believe in, but for that which I cannot foresee." The ever weaving threads of our own decisions can lead to irrevocable knots, and when Lucius Malfoy is destroyed by unexpected forces, his son, Draco, is thrown into a world of political intrigue, insatiable passion and desperate gambits, opening doors he never thought to look for, and creating a life he never thought he would have as his own.

Well, it took me a few days, but here I am, it's 5AM and I just finished. My head hurts as I haven't cried so much since I read the ending of the HBP, which says a lot. I will have to skip my morning lectures, because my eyes will be so puffy...
About the fic: I cannot really say too much. It is far too beautiful and compelling to say only I loved it and I cannot wait for the next parts.
I have to admit that I saw the fic loads of times and even started a few times before I started properly. There was just something about the first chapter. Firstly, you have a very unique, poetic style, and it was very strange at the first go. As I carried on, I grew to love it, but it took me time to grow accustomed.
Secondly, I have to admit, that I thought that this is going to be the average cliche - Draco comes to Burrow, falls in love, everything nice and dandy. It was everything but. I must say that this was one of the most precise and canon portrayal of Draco. It not only fits all that we know about him, but his upbringing, the situation and his history, too. I adore that even though he knows that with his love he destroys Ginny, he still can't bear to be apart - just like how I would see a Malfoy in love.
Another note: I rather liked the idea of a feeling Lucius behind closed doors. People tend to describe him very one-sidedly, only as a brute. I like that you gave immense depth to the character.
Well, just to conclude: you have an amazing talent for drama. I suppose this Draco is nothing like the one on the website's banner - rather like the embodiment of the love one might be afraid of. Enough from my babbling...
Congratulations, the award was well-deserved. I can only hope that I will receive a cabal email about an update from you in the near future.
I still can get over this fic, and am still teary eyed.
Thank you, it was unforgettable.
Liz

Author's Response: Thanks for giving this story a chance. I\'m glad it paid off for you in the end! The formatting was off for awhile, but I believe Mynuet corrected it. I\'ve never heard my writing style described as strange, haha! I\'m glad you liked it in the end though. I wanted Draco to be a strong character, a presence that the reader could feel along with, as well as take a rather objective view and say \'Oh my god! What is this guys problem?\" Most reader\'s have a love/hate relationship with the Draco I\'ve written. Lucius get\'s the rough treatment. Writer\'s either shove him into the \'crazed sexy fetish fiend\' catagory, or the \'abusive father and raper of innocents\' catagory. I wanted a man, and then a monster. You have to admit, if ever there was a bad man, it was Lucius Malfoy. Thank you so much!

Tempest - Prelude to The Storm by Glass_Mermaid    (Reviews - 33)

It is on nights such as these, when the chains of his mission drag him down more heavily then he can bear, when his soul is weakened by black magic and murder, that the strings of his heart are loosened and he can keep her out no longer.

Well, now at least I know that there is something seriously wrong with me. I just left you an incredibly long review for the Before the Storm. And here I am, weeping like an emotional schoolgirl. Ridiculous. So, I'm not going to tell you again, that you are my new hero and whatnot as it is obvious that I adore your writing.
Th worst is: I really do not know if I want them to get together at the end. I mean, of course, that is the proper way, but still. There is something about drama, love this strong, which cannot be acted upon because of their situations.

Oh, I am truly happy, that you are really writing a sequel! You just made my day, even if it is only 6AM!
Until then, is it too much to hope for that we will see a short look into Ginny's life too? It would be great...
Well, congrats again :)
Thank you so much, Liz

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I\'m happy to have made someone\'s day! A look into Ginny\'s life might be nice... You know, I just may do that!

OH MY GOD!

I can't believe it! I knew it was too good to be true! It was just one of the most touching and heart-wrenching episodes ever... To be betrayed in such a way... Poor Draco...

As it is I still trust them (and You) to find a way for them. Actually we haven't heard Ginny's side of the story  yet.

I still believe in them, there is hope!

 Keep on, you are GREAT!

But, after the initial shock, I have to start gushing... So sweet, and afantastic idea :) Cheers, Liz

Breaking His Heart by fallenwitch    (Reviews - 86)

The War tears the Slytherin from his redheaded witch. Heartbreak, damning choices, and assumptions rule the day. A tale of love where angst meets romance on the long road to a possible happily ever after. This fic contains the usual potty-mouth language, a snarky Draco, a feisty Ginny, sarcastic humor, romance, and a bit of angst.

Hi!

Wow, you keep surprising me! Starting afreash will surely help with this fic. :)
No constructive critisism this time from me, I still love it, and waiting for the next chapter! :)
Love, Liz

Author's Response: No, YOU keep surprising me! I was reworking this fic when you stumbled onto it - midway. I was trying to decide whether to pull the whole thing and start over or just rework the chapters and keep posting. Then it became clear that the reviews no longer made sense with all the changes so I decided to pull it. It didn\'t trigger an author alert because it wasn\'t a new chapter. I just replaced the old Chapter 3 with a new one. Thanks, Liz, for helping to resurrect this thing. We\'ll see how it goes! -fallenwitch

Hehe, I am so evil...still laughing like mad and it's not even funny! :) hehe, I enjoy this far too much!
Well, it was great, fab chapter:)
Love, Liz

Author's Response: Well, we are now venturing out a bit further than we did last time, but alas, no answer on that baby yet! So glad you are enjoying it this time around as well! -fallenwitch

What an original idea! It can only be Draco who has the gall to forget a girl's name but remember her type... :D
Great work, keep it up!

Author's Response: Yes, well, Draco has a lot to learn, doesn\'t he? Thanks for the review.
