Ginny and Hermione are tired of being dowdy, dateless losers. What are two intelligent girls to do? Why, do some research and formulate a plan. Snape cooks! Goyle cowers! Fun is had. D/G and R/H, written before OotPCategory: Long and Completed
"Yes, but I want Ron."
One of my all-time favorite lines about R/Hr -- much as I love Ron, I agree that Hermione would some of this (lovingly-meant) attitude about him.
"Lovely cackle. Nice to see the traditions being kept up, I didn't think they taught those any more."
I do so love your wry sense of humor!
An explosion in the Potions classroom leaves behind a raving Potions Master, a bloody Draco, and a certain redhead we all love having a moment of altruistic weakness. Ginny's kindness makes Draco very suspicious, leading him to destroy her goodwill. In retribution, Ginny decides to put some embarrassing information about Draco to good use. Ahh, nothing like one-upmanship to kindle a little romance.Category: Works in Progress
The description of the photo of Draco should be illegal, too. Fantastic job! (Now would some talented artist please go render that Wizarding photo description into a [barely moving: "He was that still"] reality? Pretty please?)
Another fabulous chapter--one of the many which I enjoyed so much in my current rereading that I neglected leaving a review before racing on to the next! (How's that for an excuse for not reviewing?!)
Have I mentioned I adore your chapter titles? :D
"You know, the vaunted Slytherin cunning plans aren't all they're cracked up to be."
Hehe. I love your talking-to-furniture Draco and your Ginny who, of course, calls him on his shite (a fulltime job for the poor girl). Why is it we love a Draco that so needs a strong talking-to? Is this somehow related to John Gottleib's assertion that the most successful marriages are those in which the husband lets himself be influenced by the wife (i.e. actually listens to and respects his wife)? *ponders*
Oh, that was just lovely! The lullabies... *sighs*, the humor. Brought tears to my eyes in more ways than one.
This is verrrry funny and clever, and I'm so glad you're continuing it! The wickedness those two are getting up to--it kills me! Now off to read on and finish catching up my memory in order to better appreciate the latest chapter you posted. :D
"And let me tell you, you're welcome to him. He's too much of an idiot for me." She patted Ginny's arm. "Which means you're bloody perfect for one another."
*snicker* I think I love your Pansy. And your no-longer-merely-apoplectic-now-50%-more-mature Ron.
Thank you for continuing on with this meaty, tasty, wonderful story! (And, thank you to Jess as well, off of whom ideas were bounced!) It must be challenging to continue something like this, begun long ago--however it's a testament to your skill as a writer that a) you want to, and b) you can. Bravo!

Sex and men are never easy...Category: Long and Completed
I've read this before put probably didn't review.... (*self-flagellates just a wee bit*). So funny! I adore your Luna, and Ginny's self-doubt is charmingly expressed by her foul language, which while hysterically over-the-top is plausible given the corrupting influence of six older brothers.
This is just something utterly depressing I wrote. Do not read if you like happy endings.Category: Completed Short Stories
Stark and beautiful. I've read and loved this story before and am so glad to have found it again.

Ouch. The acceptance of the truth, indeed.

".....And honestly, how many enemies do I even have?”
I cannot believe a *Slytherin* said that.
Um, and by the way, can anyone say LUCIUS MALFOY? Using Pierce's own idea against him--so very slytherin--, then swooping in to complete the mission (?) and get back in Voldemort's good graces, or at least get Pierce out of them. Who needs a lot of enemies when Lucius is one of the few you do have?
My heart began to lodge in my throat as I read these last two chapters. Whatever Pansy told Draco last time .... I fear it means very bad things ahead for Ginny, and soon. I'm almost afraid to read the next ones....almost.
Thank you for sharing your talent.
so...
“I haven’t been wearing it in case Mum and Da saw, but today…well, this morning I just felt like I needed to wear it."
She felt like she *needed* to wear it, hmm? Well that can only point toward one eventuality...
Also,
"They wore it on their wand hands because the circle was supposed to show the infinite bravery they showed by using that hand.”
“Supposedly, it has some special properties too...”
I have a feeling that is going to end up being significant. I assume Draco *is* wearing it on his wand hand? (And we know he *won't* take it off.)
So many possible hints!
Now, when will Nott show up? And where is Lucius going to mail Ben's hand? Surely he'll know Naomi is missing, not that he'd do anything about it except assume she chose to flee. That poor child!
By the way I am firmly resisting the urge to say I WAS RIGHT! It was Lucius and he was using Pierce's own trick against him!
Hmm, he would never let her go, he would never compromise her freedom, and he's ridiculously in love with her. Oh yeah, and he sets her body on fire. Pretty compelling, Hearts Cadence.
You're going to make us wait to find out more, aren't you? Because we haven't heard about Naomi or Pierce much for a while.
speaking of Ginny not seeing Naomi escape.... *we* didn't see Nott escape! Please don't let the nasty Deatheaters figure out his duplicity. I wonder, does he still figure in the plot? (...contemplating rereading from chapter one to relish it all again as the end approaches...)
What an *amazing* story you've created.
I *love* the last line. What a lovely end to an amazing story. Thank you.
Sequel to Break in the sun (till the sun breaks down). For a few blissful hours, the differences between them did not matter. But as Draco and Ginny struggle with their budding relationship, they must soon discover that many things separate them still - family, friends and society as well as their own explosive tempers. The future they want for themselves comes at a price, and reconciling what they each want out of life is a challenge that might just break them apart...Category: Works in Progress
Wow.
Brutal. Beautiful.
That is the most amazingly choreographed, believable, painful argument(s) and denouement(s) I have ever read. Every time I reread it I find more. (Or maybe I'm just slow that way ;.) First, shock. Draco's shock. Ginny's insight. Every sentence relentlessly escalates the stakes, or spins off in another direction, dragging us helplessly along. The inevitable arrival. The leap into the abyss. (Wait--what the heck just happened?? How did you do that? In so little space?) Then, reverse. Wow. Reread. Now it's a fencing match. Or a ballet. Attack, react, attack, trade roles. Repeat. Death scene. Solo. Exit, enter, trade roles, repeat. I can't do it justice. I'm in utter awe of your talent.
Author's Response: Thank you so much, that\'s a nice summary of the argument, though I didn\'t choreograph it nearly as neatly as it seems now *g* I struggled with this chapter quite a bit before I posted it, but in the end, I was pleased with the flow. Glad you liked it! Brutal and beautiful is just what I was going for, so I\'m happy you think it turned out that way :)
"Perhaps it really didn't matter what he was, perhaps it just mattered that he was." Unexpected events lead to unexpected relationships. Can one person be so important to the destruction of Voldemort? Nothing happens by chance, but sometimes, life might be simpler if it did.Category: Works in Progress
Let me just say how excited I am to see this chapter! I love this story, and am off to reread the earlier chapters so I can fully enjoy this latest installation. Thank you so much for posting it.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm so glad you're still following! I'm going to try to get new chapter out ever 2 months while school is in session, and every month (minimum) in the summer. Thanks for sticking with me!
I knew that he was an evil git plotting to conquer the world. But sometimes the heart just doesn't care about logic and that's when things get tricky. I wanted to settle our debt and be done with it. I never meant to fall in love with him.Category: Works in Progress
Whew, dark, that chapter end there. An intriguing beginning, with the Malfoy inner circle, bodyguard-for-life, and dreamwalking, as well as secretly-smart/strong Ginny, Pansy, and Millicent (and Luna because everyone always underestimates her). Then there's understated, perceptive, seductive Endora. Interesting females. I can see why Pansy and Millicent have cloaked their talents, and Luna is just unconventional--no subterfuge there (I don't think), but why does Ginny choose to hide her intelligence? How will her French fluency and the Inner Circle's use of French play out? And how the heck is Draco--or Millicent--going to save her? So glad I can read the next chapter immediately to get some answers! (and more questions, I hope.)
p.s. I've been enjoying your DH drabbles and your comments on the FIA forums, so I had to see if you had anything posted on the FIA archive. Yes! On to the next chapter; that was quite the cliffhanger.
“That may be true, but at least your pure-blood scum. Much better than any Mud-blood or Muggle scum.”
That is just classic Malfoy. Great Weasley tirades and general verbosity and emotionality. So let's see, Draco has now seen Ginny when she was: terrified, unconscious, half-naked, disoriented, telling him off, slapping him, enraged, imploring, sobbing, laughing hysterically, and quite dandy. All in one chapter. And I'm sure I missed a few. Way to move it along! (And nice Malfoy backstory.)

Hey arabela! Intriguing story. I like it, especially the moments of Draco-torture. heh heh. Like this one:
"You were?" Julie asked hopefully.
"You were?" Ginny said, frightened, at the same time.
"Yes, I was." Draco said defensively.
Not as powerful out of context, but still. It's always a delight to see Mr. Unflappable flapped.
