I'm so happy that Mynuet let me post By Firelight here despite the first few chapters being shorter than 1,000 words (the FIA limit). I love this site and its stories, and it's a privelage to join the author list on Fire and Ice. Thank you Mynuet!
And many thanks to the Cabal, as well, for pointing out errors I had missed so they could be fixed promptly.
A special thanks and a hug each to my lovable beta readers, Mell8 and Annalise!
Last, but certainly not least, if you've been kind enough to review my work, thank YOU!
My username on the FIA Forums is the same: Rebecca Ripple

OMG I potato this fic! POTATO POTATO!! Too cute for words... except the word potato. LOL! So sweet... Please keep writing, even if you don't write any more for this fic. It's too darn sweet to stop there! I love it! I mean, I POTATO it!
What a sweet potato... :D
(I had to read this again!)
Draco Malfoy, at only sixteen, is given a seemingly impossible task that will call for him to harness every ounce of wit and courage that he posseses. Hogwarts is no longer safe, with watchful eyes stalking his every move. However, this problematic situation becomes increasingly troublesome as this thorn meets his rose...Category: Works in Progress
Read on for Draco's untold (that is, until now) version of HBP.
"...after the prophecy had been so carelessly wretched out of my grip..."
I'm not sure, of course, but I thought it might be worth asking: Did you mean "wrenched" in place of "wretched"? Just making sure. Sorry if I just misread it! :)
Anyway, this chapter is beautifully written! I can't wait to read on, but I had to let you know I kept my word. I'm sure glad I did - what a great story!
You're right about our stories (this and By Firelight) being so similar, but even after reading only the first chapter of yours, I can tell that each has its differences. In any case, on to Chapter Two!
*hugs*
Interesting... I gotta read bmore right away! :D
Very good, please update this story ASAP!
I love how in-character your versions of the characters are! Roger was cool, will we be seeing him again?
I look forward to seeing how you tie in D/G so soon! :) Best of luck!!
First let me make something very clear: This is NOT a negative review! :)
That said, I've read half of this chapter already, and even though I love how you write (especially the funny parts like the piece of coal getting into his underwear from using the Floo Network), I gotta put off reading the rest until I write a bit more of my own chapter-in-progress for By Firelight.
See? I told you it wasn't bad! It's just a hold-that-thought note. :D Anyhoo, keep up the good work! I'll catch up when I can, hopefully sooner than later. And congratulations on this 18-page long chapter! *big hug*
Just finished reading. Nice chapter; very good ending! I can't wait to see what comes next!
Personally, I find fics where Draco/Ginny shipping existed long before Harry/Ginny shipping a bit awkward, but I'm happy to see that your story doesn't go that way. Good realism. And well done in general!
"Draco," she said softly, smiling. "I was waiting for you." He swallowed, and with shivering hands, he ran his fingers across her cheek softly. When he spoke, his voice was quiet and hoarse. "I was always here."Category: Completed Short Stories
I sobbed out loud when I read the end of this. I'm still crying. I'm so glad I found this story. Thank you for posting it. *hug*
When the Trio was brought to Malfoy Manor, why did Draco not say "Yes, that's Harry Potter"?Category: Completed Short Stories
Well written. This is very powerful. I love the way you write! Keep it up! :)
Ginny tries to help Draco cope with what has happened, but even her calming voice isn't enough to keep him from breaking.Category: Completed Fiction, Completed Short Stories
This is so sad....... I'm crying right now....... :'(
A beautiful one-shot. So powerful, so emotional, so devastatingly... beautiful.
