Look At Me by DeLaLune    (Reviews - 336)

Ginny finally has everything she's ever wanted. The boy of her dreams, top grades, and a way to finally break into the Golden Trio. When perfection turns out to be less than perfect she finds herself seeking solace in another journal. When this journal writes back, she is understandably worried—until she discovers the person writing back is a fellow student. A fellow student who refuses to divulge his identity. Does she want to know who this mystery person is? Or has she already revealed too much of herself?

I really like it. The interaction is great, true to character without the reoccuring fan-fiction fight. Banter without the traditionally invoked prejudice. I would love to see this drawn out as a longer story. For some reason I have noticed the tendency of penpal stories to be rather short and I have always wanted to see them more further explored. Yes? Maybe?

Author's Response: Oh my, how I love hearing that the characterization is right. :) For that I will tell you that there are at least ten more chapters. The next will be up in the very near future! Thank you for your review! I hope you'll stick around!

Updates weren't coming fast enough and I wanted my fix, so I clicked your name....and I was outraged to find that this was your only story!

Author's Response: Haha that will be remedied shortly, I have to find a beta for another story then I will post that one :)

I am so anxious as to how Ginny will react to discovering that Ghost Writer is Draco. I am also curious as to Draco's acceptance of the identity of Ginny. Good gravy, I have not been this wrapped up in a story for quite awhile.

Author's Response: So glad to hear it :) You will see the reactions in Chapter 4 which is happily already in queue :)

I love that they still write to each other now that they have met. I would be happy to help you with paragraph alignment. You also mentioned that you were looking for a beta for your future stories?

Author's Response:

Between you, Incognito, and choravenclaw I'm afraid I'll disappoint someone by choosing. Oh dear, this may be hard.

I am looking for a beta for two other stories though,  I have them about half way done. Do you have AIM, MSN, or gmail?

Glares resentfully at Incognito and demurely slides my foot to the right, allowing you to trip over my ankle as you crash through the crowd of volunteers. In hindsight, I kick a couch cushion across the floor and it skids to a stop under your hands as you brace yourself from the fall. Sorry dear, but I will not be jostled from my position in the queue. I stand firm and will defend my place in the line which, as I peer behind me has now wrapped itself around the block. Oh, bother. I suppose a method of elimination will have to be employed. Luckily - I have a flame thrower.

Author's Response: Oh my, now I'm sure I will disappoint someone by choosing. This is so hard :(

Ginny is tired of being the only single Weasley at family gatherings and all the pity that comes with that status. Draco could do without opportunistic women taking advantage of his desire to connect. The solution? Team up to become platonic dates during the holidays.

If only their hearts could stick to the plan....

CHAPTER ELEVEN SNIPPET:

When Ginny finally came downstairs, her eyes were bright and red-rimmed with happy tears. Her teammates and friends swarmed her again, congratulating her on becoming an auntie once more. She thanked everyone profusely, but her attention was clearly divided. Her eyes kept drifting toward Draco as if to make sure he stayed put until she could reach him.

And when she was finally free from the well-wishers and standing in front of him once more, it took all of Draco’s control not to pull her toward him and kiss her. That look on her face, the relief and elation—he never wanted to see it leave. He realized then that there was little Draco wouldn’t do to spare her from misery, like the kind she’d experienced over the summer when she’d been bashed in the press.

The realization frightened him enough to flee, but he couldn’t. She was here. As much as he wished to escape his feelings, he also couldn’t deny himself the opportunity to be around her.

Biggest reactions:
1. Oh, thank goodness, someone else who knows what the Sacred Twenty-Eight are? Bizarrely, came up 3 times in conversation this past week and every time, people looked at me as if I had sprouted a second head.
2. Kinda cackled at the idea of Pansy dating Justin Finch-Fletchley and then being out snobbed by him.

Author's Response: The Sacred Twenty-Eight might be a bit obscure, depending on how much people paid attention to Pottermore. I thought the Justin/Pansy dynamic was funny, so I'm glad you thought so, too! I can just picture Pansy's parents being horrified listening to him talk about Muggle things, but also just kind of liking him because he's so snobby and must be important in the Muggle world?? Justin miiiiight make an appearance in a chapter later. ;)))
