“You simply don’t understand,” Draco told Ginny. “And you might be a bit more appreciative of the fact that I made that sacrifice for you. I can assure you that seeing Astoria in a white dress and not bursting into laughter immediately was a sacrifice indeed. Then, when I was forced to share air space with that skinny slag in her lingerie-- ouch! What did you do that for?” He snatched his hand back. She’d scratched her nails down his skin.
“You seeing Astoria in lingerie,” Ginny said passionately. “That’s why.”
“It’s not as if I liked it!” Draco shuddered.
Before I even read anything, I'm telling you that I saw Astoria Malfoy in the Title, along with the words "wedding night" and "draco" and I wanted to throw myself down on the ground and start bawling. Okay, now i'm going to go read the actual thing. *sniffles*

I just read a story where Ginny gets turned to the dark side (LG, though, not DG). Wow. THis is so touching. My grandpa died of cancer after fighting it for seven years, so I know about cancer coming back again and again to haunt you. I really hope that he doesn't get sick again, because there's part of me that wonders if he will after the end of this story. Great story with fantastic emotions, though. Good job!

It's because it's such a real topic that I really wanted to tread carefully with this so it's not a cheap offensive kind of thing just to do a box fill on the card. It was hard to write, if only because the story kept sliding toward character death, which I really, really, really didn't want to do. I don't think I would ever write a sequel of any kind to this one, if only because I *don't* want to deal with the possibility of Draco getting sick again. *sticks fingers in ears* lalala, he's fine now, it's all good. :)

Wow! This piece was really sad. I'm really glad that you wrote this, though. As a woman who knows about infidelity, it always hurts. I've kind of been on the prowl of a good DG fic where one (or in this case, both) cheat on the other and the cheater has to, well, make up and grovel and regain the trust of the other, letting us as readers see insight on why the cheater cheated in the first place. Now, this may be a bit different because they both cheated (even though, Draco's case is severely worse and I feel like Gin did it because he was distanced and cheating on her). But, I hear that you are writing a follow-up (yay! please do, and post it soon!!!), so I have hope that they will--through a lot of pain and hard work--work through it together. Normally, couples who do face infidelity and talk it over and work it out claim that they are stronger after the infidelity than ever before. I really hope the case is true for our DG. I like that you can see Draco's remorse at the end, and that he was the to tell her (rather than having Gin find out). There's hope in that, I think.
P.S. I think your characterization of Harry is spot-on, and I think the girl is Pansy. Or one of the Greengrass sisters. It is one of the HP original characters, right?
Anyways, good job! Please update the follow-up soon!

I'm so happy that I gave this a try. I normally don't read sad DG and the summary seemed a bit sad, but I'm so, so happy that they got their happy ending in the end!!! And I'm really glad that you clarified Ginny wasn't a cheater, since that would've bothered me a bit. The narration was very nice and I like how the no-dialogue let us see DG develop and eventually come together over the years. :)
