It's fortunate for Ginny really that Draco doesn't remember anything after his climax. She saved a lot of embarrasment.
I bet she'll turn every head at the Ball. And I hope Astoris wears something ugly, though it really doesn't matter. We know who Draco really fancies.
And speaking of Astoria - isn't her 6 month coming to an end? I'm afraid that she 'll be more than desperate to wisk Draco into some dark alcove at the Ball to stay married to him!

I feel so sorry for Blaise. He clearly isn't used to such emotional upheaval. I wonder if Luna's breaking up with him has something to do with the mysterious plans of Daphne, because Luna did show up with Dean...

Poor Ginny and her treacherous dress! That's what happens when it's tight around the bust. I saw a singer once in a very tight dress and when she took a lungsfull of air for a strong note BOTH of her breasts popped out of her dress. So I could really sympathize with Ginny here.
Draco took a great risk talking to Ginny. HE does care about her but it almost ended in disaster when he saw her wardrobe problem...
I liked Pancy. I like how she brutally tells what needs to be told. And I'm touched by her concern for Draco. I do want to know what ha she heard Draco saying in his sleep...
And Milliscent is rather funny. I liked her too.
And, of course I'm really intrigued by what will happen next, hoping for a soon update!
I do wonder what kept Draco and Astoria. They weren't announced yet even though they got to the ball before Ginny and Blaise. Maybe Astoria's dress didn't meet required measurements.

This won't be the last time Draco takes risks for Ginny's sake... and there are lots of answers to mysteries to come, including why Draco and Astoria weren't announced earlier (nope, not because of the dress!) This Humperdinck is a strange fish. I think somehow that he is not the real Humperdinck but someone playing his role under disguise. That's why Daphne is with him (Or perhaps she is keeping a close eye on him?)
Oh, I wish I could see Blaise and Luna glaring at each other! He's a nice guy blaise, I hope everything works out for them.
I can only imagine how affected Draco was by Blaise and Ginny's performance even though he knew it's an act. And you said that Draco and Ginny will dance together at the Ball. Did you refer to this part-dance where they were afraid to look at each other or will there be some proper dancing?

Blaise is such a dear, he really tries to help Ginny.
Of course, you just have to add even more suspence and mystery! Now I'll be biting my nails to know what happened to Draco to have him seek Ginny again! Not that i complain. Draco in a jelous fit is always amuzing to read even when the situation is angsty.
I wonder about Shacklebolt. I kinda liked his character in canon so I hope he isn't acting like Harry's agent. I actually think that what he did was actually looking out for Ginny. He split them apart at the right moment and I think he warned Ginny that she better gets back to the ballroom for her benefit. Though it's obvious that he cares nothing for Draco.
And Ginny blames herself, of course. Will she have that talk with Daphne?

o.K. this is my third attempt at a review (evil evil computer!).
I feel sad for Ginny because while it might be a good idea for her to move on and forget about Draco, she won't be able to do it. Not after everything that happened. i just hope the end will be worth all the turmoil she is going through because of him.
Pansy rocks! And I allways find it endearing that Ginny's friends are willing to face so much trouble to help her. She really is a special girl.
About Dean - we know that he went hiding because he didn't know his father's blood status. I remember reading an interview with Rowling somewhere and she said that dean's father was a wizard who refused to join Voldemort and left his family so they won't be punished for his refusal. So you might not be far off from the canon.

Author's Response: Ack! I hate it when the evil computers eat reviews. Yes, in a way Ginny might be better off, but that shows that the D/G relationship will have to end up changing-- it can't go on as it is. I do love all of Ginny's friends. :) Honestly, I kind of don't seek out the interviews, because there's no way to keep up with changing background canon and I've really given up on that attempt. There's Anisecanon for DDD. :) But it's weird to read that it's actually possibly fairly close for Dean... thanks for the info!
I can't reveal what the thing touching Ginny is yet. But we'll get more clues very soon. And so much happens in the next chapter! I just had to cut this chappie off somewhere, or it would have been about 90 pages. More coming soon. :)

Leaving poor Ginny to deal with everything by herself. Then again perhaps he is hiding from Astoria so that she doesn't forse him into consummating their marriage.
Prudence Johnson is an interesting character. Are we going to see more of her? It was funny how Ginny immediately got jealous when she said she knows Draco well.
I think the company a little overdid it with Blaise. They were desperate of course, but still. Are people actually going to believe that it wasn't an act?
The tension is reaching it's climax I think. there's this feeling that everything is about to explode.

Author's Response: It's safe to say that Draco is hiding from Astoria... but the question is, what else is he up to? Time will tell... and we'll know pretty soon. ;) We'll see more of Prudence, all right. As for whether people are going to believe the extremely bad one-act play they put on... well, we'll find out about THAT in the very next chapter, I promise! (hands out theater programs)
another review - well, not exactly a review, just a question. For what I see you decided to discard those cookies you posted at the end of part 1. Things turned out differently in the end. My question is are you going to make use of that cookie you posted in my review for guessing that Draco is going to ask Ginny to be his mistress? It's where they talk about her hair and the blond streak in it. It's just that it's such a beautiful peace, poetic even. It would be a shame for this one to go to waste.
Author's Response: I think that some of the cookies will be used, but in a different way. I really like the blonde-hair cookie too. I'd like to use the one you mentioned (it includes an important plot point, too.) So I'll find a way! :)

Blaise and Draco are more alike than I thought. I'm glad Ginny figured out what happened between him and Luna. Now she will be able to help them get together because she knows a lot about when Slytherins attempt to be noble.
Author's Response: Astoria and Theo are up to... well, a lot. So much going on there. Ginny has a lot of unresolved guilt about Dean, and I think it'll take her a long time to work it out. And I think that Blaise and Draco do have a lot of similarities, although also some crucial difference to be sure. (looks into crystal ball) I do see him and Luna getting back together; I might as well give away that spoiler right now... ;)
Oh, and by the way: In INTRODUCTION TO THE FIRST CHAPTER IT IS WRITTEN THAT THIS IS GOING TO BE A LONG FIC. sO WHOEVER DOESN'T LIKE LONG STORIES SHOULDN'T HAVE STARTED READIND IT. aLSO IF A PERSON BOTHERS TO READ CAREFULLY HE/SHE WILL FIND HINTS AND CLUES AND NEW INFORMATION IN ALMOST EVERY CHAPTER .
And i think that it has to be understood that Draco and Ginny have to go a long way in order to be together both because of external circumstances and because they both have to undergo some personal growth in order to be happy together. Those things JUST CAN'T HAPPEN OVER 10-20 CHAPTERS! and if they did than the criticizing would be that it is too rushed.
SO I DON'T REALLY UNDERSTAND THOSE COMPLAINTS ABOUT LENGHTS. iF YOU LIKE THE SHORTER QUICKER STORIE THAN GO AHEAD AND READ THEM. NOBODY FORCES YOU TO READ DDD. I CAN'T SEE HOW THIS STORY CAN BE MADE SHORTER BY HALF.

Now, it looks like Harry is detiriorating. He comes with accusations but without real proof. Really, how dumb can he be to trust Astoria to provide reliable information? Speaking of Astoria, i'd like to know who confounded her. (it probably was already answered but I'm just now catching up). I don't think it was Draco, so my bet is Daphne or someone else from the "help Ginny" gang.
I do wonder if Harry aknowledged Ginny at all. I tend to think he didn't because when he is on a mission that is important to him he tends to ignore others, especially Ginny. And I'm glad that Hermione is not helping him anymore.
Kingsley won some more points with me for not being impressed with Harry.
Also it's amazing how when Draco asks something of Ginny she has enough strenght to refuse him but when he is more authoritative (like actually telling her what to do) she agrees to do what he wants. Att he very end of this chapter there's a fine example of this.

Author's Response: Thanks! :) Yes, Harry isn't in the best of shape right now, but he *does* have some support, even though it's from dangerous sources to say the least. I wouldn't say that he's dumb (exactly), but he's so convinced he's right that he does things like believing people he should never trust. Now, about Astoria being confounded.... that's a very good guess, but you'll find out exactly what's going on with her very soon. No, Harry didn't acknowledge Ginny then, although he was very aware that she was in the room. Because she was with Draco, he's stuck her in the enemy camp, although he certainly hasn't gotten over his obsession with her, either. I really like Kingsley here. :) And Draco and Ginny's relationship... oh, so complicated! Much more of that soon.
Oh, dear. draco is feeding her the same "I can't tell you" cake again. Though I don't think he wanted to ask her what she thought.
Something tells me that this has to do with Narcissa. I think, based on previous chapters, that he found her.

I can't believe Draco went with Astoria again! He's smart enough to understand that he inflicts more damage on his relationship with Ginny and yet here he goes!
I'd like to point out that it's great that you captured Ginny's kindness in this story. I think it is one of her central traits - she is always there to help people and she would help Draco even if that's the only thing he wants from her (which of course isn't) even at expence of her own emotional wellbeing. I find in many stories that the authors are so preoccupied with showing Ginny's snarky side that they often make her quite vicious. So I'm glad you captured that trait of hers here.

Thanks so much for your comments about the Ginny characterization! I try to show that Ginny has a big heart-- maybe too much so sometimes, and she doesn't do enough self-care. But nothing that she's been through has kept her from caring about other people, which I think is important to show.
So you gave Ginny a DSm definition! I kinda thought she was less damaged than that. Also, could it be that all the things she forgot after memory spells weren't actually due to the spells but rather to her disorder?
i must say you shocked me completely! I wasn't expecting Lucius at this point at all! And he is trying to keep Ginny so she doesn't interfere with Draco and Astorias marriage consummation. He's so sick!!!!!

Author's Response: Well, a *lot* of people get a DSM definition... caffeine addiction is even in there, you know. ;) But yes, I have to say that Ginny meets every criteria, especially considering the way that the definition will be expanded in the DSM-V. You make a very good point with the question of just how much of Ginny's amnesia is really due to memory spells, too. This could turn into a long... LONG essay on the dissociative disorders, but I'll just say here that they operate as a survival mechanism for the person who has them. People recover from even very severe DID and become integrated personalities in a way that just doesn't happen with other severe mental disorders. Something tells me that Ginny has a bright future ahead of her, even though she still has a long way to go!
And Lucius... well, he's been lurking around in the background for a LONG time. I don't think we've seen the last of him, either...
Astoria doesn't strike me as a very bright person here yet she manages to manipulate both Theo and apparently Harry too! On the other hand maybe they are just the kind of men that you only have to shake your womenly advantages in front of. Not that she has many of them...
She definitely doesn't feel anything for Theo but I refuse to pity him. Also, I wonder why is he so concerned about Ginny being killed. Is he afraid of draco's retribution or does he fear that Astoria won't get away with it.
This Cambio spell makes me fearful. It suits Astoria to try it again. She knows Draco won't sleep with her so she might turn herself into looking like Ginny again. Draco, don't be fooled by appearances!!!!

Author's Response: No, Astoria isn't nearly as intelligent as either Draco or Ginny (although I wouldn't say that she's exactly stupid, either.) I think that Theo and Harry are both very easily manipulated, and she's figured out how to do it. She's good at that. Theo doesn't care about Ginny as a person, but he'd certainly love to get his hands on her, so that's part of it-- mostly, though, he knows that Draco would hunt him down and torture him to death if anything happened to her. And yay to you for catching that clue about the marriage law! ;) Maybe....
You know what I just realise in connection to 2 chapters prior? It's about Astoria and Lucius. I think she is in love with him She was so worried that he will sleep with Ginny! But I don't think Lucius has any feelings for her.

Author's Response: I can't exactly explain what Ginny was seeing, but when she sees Draco in Azkaban, she sees something real. He either has been or will be there (or... you never know... maybe both.) She really can do something about it, but her ability depends on their bond being consummated. The problem is that she never knows exactly what any of this means-- and the Immortals can't tell her.
I've been waiting for Narcissa to show up for a long time! Is she suffering the same thing as Ginny? Probably not. I hope she gets well.

I don't believe Draco will admit what he feels for Ginny to Prudence. First of all, I don't think he is able to admit those feelings to himself. So I'm curious to see how he's going to tackle Prudence's questions.
Author's Response: Yay! Narcissa is finally here. :) No, she has a completely different problem than Ginny does, and it comes from something specific that happened to her a long time ago when everyone thought that she died. We'll eventually find out exactly what it was.
Oh wow! This was absolutely incredible! This whole scene with Draco coming to pieces and admitting that Ginny entered his heart was done so beautifully!
I really dread what happens next because I think Ginny is too rush in thinking that Draco will instantly know it's her and not Astoria! And I'm not sure he'll allow her a chance to explain and prove she is Ginny.
I guess, I just want them to solve their issues allready! But I know the road to happiness is a long one.

Well, I suspected that it would be very hard for Ginny to convince Draco who she really is. I think that he just so doesn't expect something like this that it doesn't penetrate his mind. The chapter was so dinamic! lucius is getting creepier and creepier. And I enjoyed Astoria beeing nervous about how Lucius treats Ginny.

Also, Ithought they were back to looking like themselves, that's why Astoria was trying Cambio again. Then why didn't Draco see she is Ginny? Perhaps it's dark in there and he couldn't see her clearly.

(There's a backstory, of course...) Nope, there are still two "Astorias" running around. The real Astoria was trying to correct the completely screwed-up results of the last Cambio being mixed with Scimbare (Bill's spell.) If she'd succeeded, she would have looked like Ginny, but Ginny would still have looked like Astoria. The fact that she failed just meant that nothing changed. And... well... the first D/G fic I ever wrote was a baby fic. You don't even want to know. Really. You don't!
