I sighed and went to the door, removing the deadbolt that I had put in, and opened it without even looking.

Thank you, thank you for the update!!!!

Because it's been a while, I reread the previous two chapters before reading this one. And I was glad because that made me enjoy 3 great chapters instead of one.

I think part of why Draco left Ginny nine years ago was his meeting with Nott that night before he left for the Academy. I think it reminded him that he has no right to taint Ginny with his past (it is shown in the episode were Ginny touches his Dark Mark and his reaction - a very touching scene).

As for this chapter - I was glad that Ginny and Harry had this talk. Harry deserved to hear what she had to say. And I always believed that Ginny can be sarcastic but she is not bitchy. And I'm glad you showed it.

Also I liked how Ginny caught herself and didn't storm out on Draco.

And the ending scene surprised me. Of course I hoped for it to happen but wasn't expecting it so soon.

And to sum everything up - The chapter was great and I'm soooo looking forward to the next one (soon hopefully)...

Author's Response: Thanks for the lovely review! For Draco, his reasons for why he left Ginny nine years ago will be delved into further as the story ends. It's not any big secret, but there will be a finality to it (as will there be with all loose ends in this story). It is important, for me personally and in terms of this plot, for Ginny and Harry to be on good terms. I want it to be unfailingly clear that they will not be a happily ever after, but they aren't enemies and I don't want him to come off that way. But as with any breakup, there are ill feelings regardless of how good the people are. For DG, don't be too excited just yet. They really didn't talk about anything in terms of their relationship/how they feel about each other. Keep in mind that they shared a kiss and then had sex in a moment where they were both a little bit vulnerable. It's not end of story quite yet! I'm glad you liked the chapter! I have the first 2000 words of the next written and I will try to get it done and posted very soon. :)

First of all - thank you so much for the new chapter!!

Ginny really has to work on her timing - she really brought Theo up on a weird moment. But I can understand Ginny's insecurities now that the passion haze has lifted. You really capture her emotional state very well and I could understand her going to sleep on the couch. I'm glad she is thinking about the fact that they never talked about where they stand with each other.

And I'm glad that Harry is being helpful - Ginny is too emotionally involved in this case and harry helps her to keep the right rational perspective on things.

Author's Response: I don't think that Ginny actually meant to bring up Theo when they were in bed. I think she wanted to talk about their relationship - since that was what was really on her mind - but instead that came out, but if you think about it, this case is really straining any relationship that they have/could potentially have because as long as its going on, she can't really be sure if he genuinuely wants her or if he's using her to further his agenda. So, be sure that Ginny will do something to find out what he's feeling, one way or another ;). As for Harry... I'm not a great fan of him by any means, but I feel like he would love Ginny enough that even if she's broken his heart, he still wouldn't be able to walk away from her. So I plan on him having a key part in the upcoming chapters ;). Thanks so much for the review! I will try to get more written and posted as soon as I can.

Oh, and I forgot to add that perhaps ginny should realize that when Draco said a few chapters earlier that he was never honest with her, it means that he also wasn't honest when he said their relationship was just a fling for him.

Also I think that Draco actually feels some strong emotions towards Ginny but he's not entirely sure what they are and how to deal with them. I think he's kinda afraid of the intensity of them and would prefer a safer ground for himself.

Author's Response: I would have to agree that Draco is a little boy emotionally, so any deep and complicated feelings he has for her would feel rather dangerous to him. Thanks again for your insight! :)

The Whispered Truth by SunnyStorms    (Reviews - 28)

Ginny Weasley had finally grown up. That little girl who dreamed of a fairytale wedding with her one true prince was gone. And good riddance. She didn't care about any of that now. No, really, she didn't.

Chapter 5 Snippet:

"Honestly, sometimes I haven't a clue what to do with you," he muttered before downing the rest of his wine.

"I don't know about that," she said with a playful waggle of her eyebrows. "Experience says you seem to be fairly knowledgeable in
that area."

He latched onto the line as she knew he would, irritation giving way to a wicked gleam in his eyes. "Really now, but how long has it been? Perhaps we should refresh your memory just to be sure."

This story is so amazingly written that I just can't find words to describe it. Your Draco and Ginny are very very complicated people and they have a very complicated relationship because they are afraid to admit how much they really care for each other (well, Draco is more honest with himself but I supposed he is afraid to bring this subject up and make Ginny leave). But they are also believable and make me cross my fingers for them and hope they eventually admit their feelings to themselves and each other and there will be a happy ending. The thing is that it's not a given and things could end with a disaster (I really hope you are planning on the happy end).
Thanks a lot for this story!

Author's Response: Thank you, pitzi! Your comments about D and G in this story is something that I am striving for, so I am very glad to hear they're coming across as such and I hope to keep it up. You're right that it could go either way for them at this point, but as to how it'll play out, we'll have to wait and see. :P

Of course you should expand this! I would really like to read more of this story. But of course I'd rather they had a happy ending, even though right now the story doesnt suggest which ending it could be.

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing! It could go both ways, but I am a DG fan of course. ;)

This one is quite angsty, isn't it? Poor Ginny. Everyone is probably against her right now. I hope it gets better eventually. And while Ginny may have made some poor decisions, I want to throttle Draco.

Author's Response: This story is a bit angsty, isn't it? We know that everyone will turn against her because of her opening arguments in the prologue, so look for things to turn around once the trial actually begins... which will be soon-ish. I'm glad you want to strangle Draco at this point - because so far he has done nothing good for her - but hopefully you will eventually understand him a bit more. Thanks for the review!

Well I think that this is an interesting introduction to a story and it already is emotinaly charged and i think it's a good premise that they are not in a relationship and that's why she is defending him. So i think you should go for it.

Author's Response: Thanks for your review :).

Reviewer: pitzi Signed
Date: Sep 07, 2013 Title: Chapter 4: NOW AND THEN

Good to see you are updating this. As much as I sympathize with Ginny, Draco is right here - the rational decision for her would have been to say no and tell the family however unappealing that might be. Basically, Draco implies that she is prone to irrational decisions, and reminding her that she could have said no that night might imply that he doesn't think highly of what happened between them then.

I'm interested to see where this is going, as the premise kinda reminds me of "How we pretend to feel" - Draco breaks things off after they sleep together and then several years later comes for help with his trial.

Author's Response: All I can or will say about their romantic/friendly relationship at this point is that it isn't what it seems. Ginny doesn't understand it, and neither do we. But in time, we will. She definitely did make a rash decision by agreeing to represent him, but a lot factored in here. Does she /really/ believe that he is guilty - that is the actual question. There are some similaries to this and Pretend right now, but ultimately they are nothing alike. Pretend focused on Ginny's struggle to find herself, stemming from her shattered love life, to her lost career, to her need to finally take care of herself after spending years being protected by Harry. This story is about social destruction, political assassination, and trying to decipher between what is truth and what is fiction. The basic premise, though, is similar, but to be fair I did begin both of these around the same time. :P

Ha, so they do have a history. And him blackmailing her makes the story even more interesting.

Ginny's reasoning is a little hard to comprehend though. Wouldn't her family be less apalled with the fact that she slept with Malfoy once than now, when she is defending him in a trial for her brother's murder?

I'm really looking forward to what's next!

Author's Response: Thank you for the review! As far as Ginny's reason goes... remember that Draco is already accused of murdering Ron. So if she tells her family that she slept with her brother's killer the night that he died, it might look like she had something to do with it... or at least she thinks it might. I don't usually give away a lot of details in my review responses, but I just don't want you to get the wrong idea about Ginny. But yes, they absolutely do have a history. :) I hope to post more soon!

The Disappearance by Anise    (Reviews - 80)

The Very End.

Epilogue Quote of the Day:

He struggled to prop himself up on an elbow. “Lovegood—Luna-- do you remember being… I really don't have the least idea how to explain this… somewhere else?”

“Somewhere that looked like King’s Cross Station?” asked Luna.

“Yes!” Draco tried to sit up all the way and failed, flopping back down onto the bed.

A thoughtful look came over her face. “I think that I do, but I don’t believe that anyone else does. Maybe it’s better that way.”

“Probably. Look, uh… where’s Ginny?”

“She’s not ready to see you just yet,” said Luna. ”Here’s a napkin.”

“I don’t care about a napkin! Where’s Ginny?”

Wow! A new chapter already! That was really quick!

I'm really really curious as to why Draco and Ginny are the only ones (for now at least) that notice people disappearing. But of course that won't be revealed soon.

I hope you keep the quick updates!

Hey, I'm glad you are back! aND WITH A NEW STORY! I guess i should morn "the shadow". You probably don't have any time for it now, being busy with 2 books!

I'm intrigued. It looks like people are disappearing and then everyone else forgets they were there exept for Draco. This Draco is kinda depressed. I feel sad for him. I'm curious were Ginny is going to fit in. Are they going to investigate together? I wonder.

And I hope your character death warning doesn't envolve Draco or Ginny.

Thank you for returning!

Author's Response: Thanks! (puts down suitcases) Yep, I'm back. I kind of thought I might disappear, but no. And Draco and Ginny will team up to investigate these weird occurrences. But no hints as to what they find!

So here's what's going to happen with Shadow-- my first big rewrite project will be to edit, finish, and post the first and MUCH shorter edition of DDD. That actually reveals what happens in Shadow-- sort of. Remember how I kept saying at the beginning that almost all of DDD was done? THAT'S the version I meant, and it didn't get posted. It's not a duplicate of the published DDD at all-- it's very different from it in a lot of ways, and it reveals the secrets of Marie Tessier, how Draco and Ginny knew (or didn't know) each other before, and what Lucius has really been up to all along. Coming soon... And no, the character death will NOT be Draco or Ginny. Don't worry. ;)

Who says Draco and Ginny can't have a fluffy ending? After reading some depressing stuff on round 4 ofDrabble Battle this was just what I needed.

And I'm glad Narcissa is alive.

Author's Response: I totally agree about that round of the drabbles. Some really good ones, but EXTREMELY depressing! Yep, this was a happy ending. More fics after November, too!

1. Good luck with NaNo!!!!

2. Well, I liked that Harry chose to die and not let Ginny and Draco take his place. I think that's really what he wuld have done in the end.

3. Where's Draco going??!!! Tell me he's going to be all right and Ginny will be there with him!

4. I hope Voldy finally died.

Author's Response: Thanks!! :) The first write-in was today. Lots of screaming kids were there, but I got a lot done anyway. I agree about this Harry, and what it was realistic for him to do. I do think that Harry is a character with a lot of genuine goodness, but it's very capable of becoming twisted, which is what tends to happen in the other Anisefics. ;) And he doesn't show that goodness to Ginny, either. And yes, Voldy did die, and that's the last anybody will ever see of him in this fic. All the details will be cleared up in the epilogue! :)

All right, I'm still confused even after this chapter.

It was predictible that Harry would blame Ginny for everything. But why all this Voldemort's ploy started happening right after Ginny came to Harry? Is it because Voldie wanted her for himself?

Poor Draco.

Author's Response: Everyone's still confused! That means my evil plan is working. :) It will all be answered, never fear...

Reviewer: pitzi Signed

All right, I could have guessed that the disappearances are connected with Draco and Ginny getting closer. Only i still don't understand why.

So right now they are on the King's Cross from their dreams which is obviously the King's Cross that Harry got to after Voldy cast Avada on him. I don't really remember how this episode is done in the film. Is it much different from the book? In the book the choise to move on was a choise to die, i.emove on to an afterlife. But I'm not sure it's this way in your story.

oh, and the NC-17 part was incredibly short for Anise's story...

Author's Response: I can't tell you what this means, of course... ;) But the DH film version basically was the book. I don't remember anything particularly different about it. I know; that has to be one of the shortest NC-17 sections I've ever written. But I felt that this fic was more firmly in the mystery genre than probably anything else I've ever written, too. More soon. :)

Reviewer: pitzi Signed
Date: Oct 25, 2012 Title: Chapter 7: Chapter 7

Wow!
With each new revealed information only more questions rise!

it appears that Draco and Ginny do not remember certain aspects of their life, but they do remember what everyone else is forgetting (like noone remembers the names of people who disappear).

Also, if the disappearances have something to do with making a choice then Ron and Ginny sort of made one because they almost disappeared. On the other hand Draco was able to pull them back.

My brain refuses to cooperate on this. So I'll just wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: Thanks! :) Okay, here's a clue... it's not exactly that Draco and Ginny forgot what actually happened to them (their shared past together.) In the reality they knew, they did not have any kind of a past (except for Draco noticing and thinking about Ginny at Hogwarts much more than he ever admitted to himself, and maybe vice versa.;) Answers are starting to arrive in the next chapter, but for now, all I'll say is that I originally started writing this fic right after seeing the DHII film. (CLUE CLUE HINT HINT HINT.) Oh, and the next chapter will be the NC-17 one.

Ha, here's Ron to ruin Draco's idillic time with Ginny... Though of course he could disappear at any moment.

I suppose Harry could know what's going on or perhaps he is the one orhestrating the whole thing.

I'm waiting for what's next!

Author's Response: Well, Ron has some important things to say... and there's LOTS to learn about Harry. Some of it is coming up really soon. :)

Reviewer: pitzi Signed
Date: Oct 14, 2012 Title: Chapter 5: Chapter 5

It was so nice to read two new chapters at once.

And I can't even begin to guess what is going on and what makes all the people and places disappear. But I do think that it has something to do with that dream yhat Draco and Ginny share tht offers them a choise. It's like they are both stuck and finally making that choise will take them forvard. Mybe the people who disappear are those who made the choice and moved on. That doesn't explain the places though. Also this theory sounds s if those people are dead.
And there is the link to Voldie that Draco and Ginny both share.

I'm glad they found Luna!

Author's Response: I think you're getting *closer*... and so are Draco and Ginny. I WILL say that the link to Voldy is very important, and that none of this would be happening without it. (thinks about giving more away) Nope. It'll all come out soon.

The story certainly picked my interest. It looks loke the life with Draco is the real one and I wonder what happened to her to make her think she is married to Harry.

Or it could really be some sort of alternate reality to show her that her life with Harry is unsatisfactory.

I'm really curious!

Author's Response: Glad it caught your interest! Thanks for the speculations as well. Those are always fun to hear from readers. ;)

Also could it be that Blaise and Astoria conspired against Draco (the bar tender did warn him to pay attention to their actions) and Astoria was just trying to distract Draco from whatever Blaise was doing and that was connected to Ginny's disappearance?

Author's Response: Blaise is definitely a cog in the larger wheel. Which is why I ended up naming this chapter "microcosmopolis" - to try and illustrate how the actions and comings and goings and relationships in the microcosm of these characters' worlds are an expression of something larger in the system.
