He sees all the pitfalls and glories of death; how two lovers would cheat it, to how a torn family would face it.Category: Completed Short Stories
This fic reminded me a great deal of Edgar Allen Poe's "Annabelle Lee", and yet I still didn't expect that ending somehow! I loved the twist at the end.
Author's Response: You\'re the second person who said that! Not that I\'m keeping track. Thank you!
What really happened in the DH Epilogue of Doom. Poor, poor Harry, so very clueless...Category: Works in Progress
Chapter SIXTY-NINE quote of the day:
Ginny scowled at him. “You don’t know me very well.”
Draco shook his head, his eyes more sorrowful than ever. “No. I don’t. Eternity wouldn’t be long enough for that.”
“Why do I feel as if we’ve suddenly wandered into the set of a men’s cologne commercial?” complained Lucifer.
“Can’t you keep your damn mouth shut, Lucifer?” spat Draco.
“Please… really… I don’t think you should talk to him that way,” whispered Ginny.
I haven't reviewed this yet, but I would like to say how very glad I am that I caught this towards the beginning. I've never had the mettle to try to read one of your longer stories on here--even for me, one hundred plus chapters is a little daunting--but I love your style, so this was perfect for me. I love how you let me hate Harry even more and how you made the epilogue fit in with the rest of the plotline. I feel like you're constantly leaving us in the dark, even though we're learning new pieces of the puzzle every chapter. I could go on and on, but I'm going to simply say that the complexity of this fic is lovely to read, and I can't wait for the next chapter! Luckily for me, you update very quickly. You make me love you even more every time you update daily. :]
Out of curiosity, do you have a general idea of how many chapters this story will end up being? I know it was supposed to start out with two, and we see where that plan went--in the rubbish bin. :P
Well, just to start, I would like to note how GLAD I am that that two chapter plan went completely out the window. This is just getting better and better!! Unless poor Draco really does end up in eternal damnation. :( But you wouldn't do that, would you? Would you??
AHHHHHHHHH!!!! You're killing me!! :P You always make me so desperate for the next chapter.. lucky for me, you update very quickly. I feel like I might have an inkling of what is going to happen, but I'm probably on the completely wrong page. This is all getting so intricate--I'm thrilled and especially happy to finally see Draco again.
You just couldn't help yourself with the Robert Pattinson thing, could you? Hahaha. I can't blame you. I couldn't get enough of this chapter. :P
Selling herself into a marriage contract, Ginny finds herself playing a deadly game, ultimately pitting her husband against her lover and a father against his son. Many twists and turns, depth and evil characters - and a long story of sweet and true love.Category: Long and CompletedNew! Epilogue is up! Yes, I know, the story has been "complete" for a couple of years, but this ending has been partially written for a long time and it ties up some loose ends.
I can't believe I didn't know about this fic until now! I LOVE it, which doesn't make me much different from all the others who love it, too. You've kept things open-ended just enough in terms of the behavior of each character that I have no clue what anyone is going to do next, and I love how unpredictable the twists in the plot are. I just can't wait to see a few of these lingering questions answered--was Draco actually the Muggle from Ginny's night out?!?! I haven't forgotten about that, and it's KILLING me! I'm thoroughly addicted to this story, now, and I can't wait for the next update!
Author's Response: Excellent! So glad you are enjoying it, and thanks for letting me know. I greatly appreciate your thoughtful comments. :)
The Muggle returns in chapter 17, btw. *wink*
It would have been SOOOOO cruel to end the story there!! There are still so many questions to be answered, so many loose ends to tie up! I can't wait to see how they trick Lucius into thinking this baby is his. I can't think of how they'll do it.
Author's Response: Well, you'll see in the next chap that the viewpoint changes a bit, so it's definitely a new section of the story. I'm really eager to post the next chap, cuz I think you all are going to have a lot to talk about.
thanks so much for the review! :)
I KNEW IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm just so glad that the Muggle was him--and that I was right! HAHA. It was so great to read his point-of-view for their first romantic encounter. I'm just waiting for Rambo Draco to surface in the next few chapters and kick some Death Eater tush.
One little thing bothered me about his Muggle situation... Considering that he is trying to stay anonymous and hidden from his father, I would think that he wouldn't want to use his wand for anything. Isn't their magic use supposed to be traceable? And since Voldemort's controlling the government, it would probably be fairly easy to find out where he was, based on the charms he performed for his hair and the like. Just a stray thought. Other than that little nitpicking, I LOVE this story! I can't wait for more! :)
Author's Response: Fun to be right, isn't it? LOL
So, to address the question on tracking of tracking magic, my view is that it seems impossible to track small charms. I think it's a bit overused in fanfic, because, if they could track *anything* then how did the trio keep hidden in DH? Also, Draco was using the charm there before anyone was really thinking of looking for him, since he was leading a double life at that point. At least that's my logic. Hope it helps, and thanks for the question. I do appreciate the input. :)
Even as I gaped in horror, Ginny emitted a happy giggle, one that I had not heard in years. How had none of us noticed? How much more to their story was there?Category: Completed Short Stories
This is great! I was a little confused about how Draco and Ginny were in Grimauld Place, since I thought they had a flat, and I wasn't sure why Hermione was there either, but the story flowed well. Your writing style is great, and I was engaged the whole time. I absolutely loved Draco and Ginny's relationship in this--which is the point, I guess. I can't wait to read more of your stories! :)
Author's Response: Thanks so much, that's such a lovely review! Right, they do have their own place, but there's an anonymity to the story, and I think readers have to gather the missing pieces for themselves. I'm really glad to know that, because that is the effect I was going for.
When Ginny wins a bottle of Felix Felicis strange things happen. (This is set in Hogwarts era, but it's AU. We'll assume Slughorn still works there.)Category: Works in Progress
Ooooh Draco's vow sounds SOOOOOO sketch!!!!!! ...To put it into slang terms.. D: If I were Ginny I would be more than a little creeped out right now! I'm just waiting for the catch... I feel it coming...
*COMPLETE* The war is raging on, and Harry is the only one who can stop it. In order to do so, he must accept help and alliances from people he never would have expected it from. Ginny and Draco are working on their new relationship in the midst of the war, and trying to make things last, despite the odds.Category: Long and Completed
I love love LOVE you for updating so much and so quickly! It's so exciting! :) I know that Ginny is not going to take a breakup, so I'm deciding NOT to get upset! I have a feeling I'll end up crying over this fic at some point, though...
AHHHH I am soooo frustrated with Ginny right now!!!! Which is, I guess, your goal... Haha. I REALLY expected to her to stand up for herself a little bit, at least! Maybe next chapter she will make up for being such a wimp.
Author's Response: LOL she kind of does. kind of. :D i'll be posting it soon!
Thank goodness someone is willing to give that silly girl a kick in the butt! Go Hermione! And I don't say that often. :P
The war rages on. Twenty year old Draco Malfoy is stuck at Grimmauld Place with nothing to do until Harry asks him to distract Ginny. Perhaps Harry should have been more specific about what he wanted Draco to do.Category: Works in Progress
I foresee quite a bit of mischief-making happening. I can't wait! :)
