D/G is my respite from my job in education research. Besides Draco/Ginny, Blaise/Luna, Blaise/Daphne, and Harry/Luna as sideships.

I used to be quite active in dg fandom and I've been thinking of picking it up again. So grateful for the excellence that is FIA, a wonderful fandom home.

More Than You Think You Are by idreamofdraco    (Reviews - 52)

When Ginny wakes up as a patient—and Draco Malfoy's roommate—in St. Mungo's, all she has are questions. Without answers, they turn to each other to stay sane, but the edge of madness looms close. In the Janus Thickey Ward, it's impossible to hide from what you are.

Written for SunnyStorms in the DG Forum's Summer 2013 Fic Exchange, and winner of the Most Creative, Best Response to the Prompt, and Best Characterization of Draco awards. :)

Another brilliant chapter! I loved Draco's POV. He has such a strong voice and personality, but also vulnerability and you capture that so well. His Occlumency and Legimency skills, the fact that he compartmentalises things - all working against him here. I can see his tendency to compartmentalise enabling his denial. And the Drinny - they just pop with chemistry, even if it is just antagonism at the moment. I can't wait to see how they will work together.

Author's Response: Ahhh thank you!! Draco is so much fun to write, and the way he compartmentalizes things is definitely, definitely a coping mechanism. You'll see a little more of that later on!

A very tiny, disgusting part of her loved the idea of him searching her body>

I loved that line. In such a dire circumstance it made me giggle. I think that's what I like most about this story - your ability to illustrate the complete horror of Draco and Ginny's situation while keeping humour.

I also love Ginny's becoming so aware of Draco physically.

Author's Response: I can't help myself with the humor. This story couldn't be ALL doom and gloom. ;)

A Walk Down Memory Lane by Nutmeg44    (Reviews - 7)

Hogwarts is a place to make memories. For Draco, some of those memories are more pleasant than others.

A lovely and sweet holiday fic. I could definitely see how d and g could work this way - secret affair and break up all. I like that they broke up and did what they had to do separately. I feel like they appreciate what they had and now they've grown up enough to learn to live with their differences. They have a better chance now. Also, how cute is Ron - still angry about Draco? Love that detail.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm really glad you liked it. I feel like they probably didn't communicate enough in the first relationship to realize that they both had stronger feelings for each other. That was probably a result of their immaturity and the chaos of the impending war. Now they can have it all and torment poor, adorable Ron with it. Thanks for telling me your thoughts.

The Life of a Personal Assistant by MemoriesFade    (Reviews - 115)

The last thing Ginny expected when she got called into work was a promotion; and she certainly didn’t expect the disruption it would cause to her carefully constructed life.

I'm not sure why you were debating whether to post this story or not, because it is fabulous! I love Lucius's POV and the Lucius/Narcissa relationship. They are true partners - and Lucius's description of his relationship with his son and Draco's escapades are so fun. I can only imagine how frightening Narcissa could be and I wouldn't want to be Romilda Vane in her presence. I'm already addicted to this story and I cannot wait for Draco and Ginny to actually turn up. Great job so far!

Author's Response: I hope you enjoyed the rest of it as much! The Malfoys are pretty much the stars of this story right now and so fun to right - although I’m continuously worried that I will make a misstep with their characters. So far, I think we’re okay - I think being the key phrase there. Thanks so much for the review!!! - Ann

A Very D/G Christmas by Anise    (Reviews - 4)

HAPPY NEW YEAR! And here's Part 2. :) Can Draco survive Yuletide Eve when he's thrown to the Weasley wolves at the Burrow? Will Ginny be able to save him? Is Fred going to stab him with a carving fork? And who's George's significant other? These questions and many more will be answered in the artistic extravaganza that is... A Very D/G Christmas.

A Quote from Part Two:

“It’s true then,” said Fred, continuing as if Draco hadn’t spoken, He moved around George to confront Ginny. “You’re really seeing him. You’ve really brought him to Yuletide dinner. You’ve actually done it, Ginny.”

That did sum up the situation quickly, at least, thought Draco.

“Look, Fred, I know. I should have just come straight out and told you,” said Ginny, stepping out of George’s protective embrace.

“No, you shouldn’t have done,” said Fred. “You shouldn’t be doing this at all. I’ll do *him* a favor. How’s that?” He shot Draco a look of intense dislike. “I’ll let *him* leave instead of unleashing every hex I can think of. “

Draco groaned inwardly. This was not going to be a good holiday dinner.

Molly is as devious as any Slytherin isn't she? I suppose Ginny gets a lot of that from her. I like that your Molly isn't the stereotypical mother hen / Mother Nature Molly we see so often in HP fics.

I adore George. He reminds me of Draco in some ways, both willing to exploit a situation to their advantage and to swallow something they don't care for if needed. I can see them being allies of a sort - and especially going forwards.

Can't wait to read the next part! Sorry it took so long for me to review.

Lovely, lovely beginning to a DG Christmas!

One of the things that I've always appreciated and admired about your DG is the bickering and bantering - that seems entirely natural and real. They seem a real couple, but remain true to character. To borrow a phrase from Jane Austen, I believe they are in essentials, much as they ever were. so th you for that. They are how I imagine a grown Draco and Ginny to be.

I love the subtle touches that show the depths of Draco's feelings for Ginny - like his hurt in being her dirty little secret (and it's not about pride).

The twist about racism was perfect and true. This does seem to be the case in the Wizarding world (at least what we see of it). I really like that. And, I like that Draco has the moral high ground for once.

Can't wait to read the next part!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! :) Yes, in this fic, Draco and Ginny are grown to an extent... they're a few years out of Hogwarts, and both of them have had to grow up faster than they should have. Sometimes, of course, they think they have more maturity than they do. ;) The next part is coming soon! More art, of course, too. I came up with a perfect Molly (well, I think.) She looks very different from the film version, but she's the way I tend to picture her.

All and More by lovelynovelties    (Reviews - 5)

The comment made her grin wider. Closing the distance between them, she brushed her fingers over his cheeks without thinking. Draco grew still at the contact before relaxing into her touch. As their eyes met, she said Tergeo softly. Instantly, all the snow and ice from his face and hair was siphoned off. Upon examining her handiwork, Ginny was pleased to find that she had managed to do wandless magic. The indignation on Draco's face slipped off and was replaced with a serious look of contemplation.

"Oh come on, that was just simple magic and I am not the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter for nothing."

Ginny joked, trying to lighten the mood. She knew that look on Draco's face very well: the clear, sharp, piercing grey eyes of his become stormy whenever he was in deep contemplation about a difficult decision. She remembered that look when he first decided to share about himself honestly; that look transpired into a great friendship between them. To be honest, she had never thought they could be friends, good friends even, but there was just something about his dry humour and no-nonsense honesty that she appreciated. If she needed someone to tell her the truth without frills and give it to her, he would be the person she goes to.

Finally, he opened his mouth, "Ginevra-"

A lovely story. Both Draco and Ginny maturing and struggling to move on. I liked how introspective Ginny is after Fred's death, how it opens her eyes to other perspectives and maybe things are not so clearly defined into black and white categories.

Author's Response: Thanks! It is how I imagine her to be, she always strikes me as a character with lots of potential to see both sides of a coin given her experience with Tom Riddles. (:

Very cute! I like that Draco is the awkward one for once. And of course, I love every story with the twins. Lovely.

Author's Response: I love awkward Draco so much!! I love smooth, suave, witty Draco, too, but I just think he would have certain expectations for his life, and as soon as those expectations are not realized, he'd be whiny and lost. And I just love the idea of Ginny coming along and showing him a place. Accepting him. AHhhhh!! Thank you for reading and reviewing!
