Oh, dear. That was just as disturbing as I thought it would be. Yuck. And almost worse is the niggling question in the back of my mind about just how Harry is going to react. Though I am feeling more sympathetic towards both Hermione and Snurk.
Anyway, thanks for the update, I think. I am looking forward to what comes next despite the fact that I am still shuddering.

And I feel like I have been rewarded for reading your LJ, even though I thought at first that it would lead to heart failure. There is one little detail in this chapter that wasn't in the snippet you posted there that I think is significant--and makes me think even more highly of Snurk.

Anyway, this was another heart-wrenching chapter. There are so many emotional undertones in this story and they just seem to get more and more confusing. I love this chapter, even though I know that things aren't all right. I just loved seeing Harry and Hermione assuming that they would pass the weighing, then being condemned themselves. Do they not realize that nobody is without sin? I can't wait to see what will happen to them next. And what will happen with Ginny and Draco, of course. Thanks so much for this update!

You're right that the imagery was disturbing, but it really showed Bellatrix's desperation. I'm glad that Draco gave up his need for revenge on her, or he would have realized too late, just like she did, that it is never enough. Perhaps there is hope, after all. Thanks for the chapter. It definitely is less heartbreaking than the last.

By the way, I have been thinking about the connotations of your last chapter. Are there several versions of Draco and Ginny floating around Nashville at the moment? Because it seems like some of them remember what happens in the story enough to tell you about it, or at least enough that Draco needs distraction, while at least one pair can't remember anything. Of course, you are the master of alternate universes, so I should probably trust you and not overthink things, right?
I'm a little disappointed that this isn't a real chapter, and even more disappointed that you can't reassure us of a happy ending, but I will take what I can get. At least I know Draco and Ginny will end up together, even if that means in Azkaban or even dead. Despite that, I am looking forward to reading more.
Ron is really growing on me in this fic. Sure, he is angry at Draco, but it is mostly because he is worried about Ginny. And he isn't beyond reconsidering once he has new information. Which leads me to suspect that his relationship with Harry is going to go downhill now. But I guess I'll just have to wait and see, as always. Thanks for the update!
Ooh! I wondered what happened to Ron. I guess we know now. At least sort of. And of course he has to pop up right at the /end/ of the chapter. It seems like every time I think things are as bad as they can be for Draco (what could be worse than losing part of your soul and being stuck in Azkaban because of it?), something else happens. Ah, well. I do suspect that the lost part of his sould isn't really lost at all, but in safe-keeping with a certain missing person. But I guess I will just have to wait and see, as always. I do have one question, however. Did Bellatrix bait Draco just because she is evil and enjoys ruining people's lives, or did she have ulterior motives?
I was just feeling all relieved that Ginny didn't carry through with Harry and was starting to see what he was really like, and that she could see Draco, and then you have to end it like that. I'm not sure my poor heart is going to last until the end of this. Thanks for the chapter!

Part of me wants to just wait until you have posted the rest of the story to finish reading it so the torture of cliffhangers doesn't apply. But every time you post a chapter, I find myself reading it right away. It will be interesting to see what happens with Harry.
Oh, I'm so glad that Draco realized that Ginny was talking about him and not Harry, though that will probably torment him more. And I love that Luna could see him. I always got the impression from the books that her "craziness" is more than it appears. And I wonder why Bellatrix is so interested in Draco communicating with Ginny. I'm glad we're starting to learn a little bit, at least, but you of course tease us just a bit without really giving any information. But I guess I will survive. Thanks for the update.
