I once said I'd never read or write an angst fic, which was moronic of me, because 90% of the things I read and write in fanon are angsty.

BUT a good humor fic is equally nice.

I mostly ship D/G, but Tonks/Remus and George/Luna are favorites as well.

Crossing into Chaos by Emeral_eyes    (Reviews - 512)

*Completely AU* In a world where Voldemort was never defeated, only a few things matter: pureblood, money and power. All that Ginny Weasley wanted was to survive her 7 years at Hogwarts, a school where the children of the richest and most powerful wizards dominate over others. Denying her natural instincts, she managed to make it into her 6th year without offending any of the cruel and powerful Slytherins - especially that horrible Draco Malfoy. Until one day, she crosses a line, and her peaceful existence is shattered forever. A story filled with adolescent drama, clash of the classes, angst, jealousy, ridiculous pride and love triangles (and squares).

Haha, the "CRACK AU" is being enjoyed very well. Poor Ginny; torture at the hands of other students has never looked so bad...

It's interesting that Draco has interest in Ginny, and it makes me think that maybe he noticed her before. It'll also be interesting to see how Draco reacts if he ever finds out that Blaise isn't being as malicious to Ginny as Slytherins would prefer.

Reviewer: spider Signed

I'm glad that Ginny has chosen to stay at school, and to say something - I felt pretty triumphant at her ending "speech". All the same, I'll have to admit that I was daunted at the prospect of a bunch of boys grabbing her into an abandoned classroom. If Draco had supported what those boys attempted, I'm not so sure that I could think this story was very plausible anymore. But, as the contrary happened, even with his asshole-ness intact, I can still enjoy your fic.

Thanks for the speedy chapter, and I look forward to the next one!

Author's Response: I wrestled with this SO much, I can\'t even explain it. Because, as I mentioned in the Author\'s Notes, this fic is loosely inspired by a manga/anime/drama series, and the \'grabbing her and pulling her into an abandoned classroom\' happens there, and I was very unhappy with the way this scenario was treated - as if it was nothing, no big deal at all. I almost tried to find another situation that could yeild the same results (the Slytherins doing something despicable and Blaise kind-of-sort-of-but-not-really rescuing her, but I decided to go with this situation anyway, but to make sure I treated it better, and more seriously, which I hope I\'ve done here.

I really like this story, especially this chapter, but I must admit that I wonder sometimes about how much of this fic is your own brain-child and how much is inspired by other sources. Obviously at the end of this chapter you broke it down a bit and explained, but all the same I hope that you infuse more of your own ideas into the story.

All the same, I really enjoyed this chapter and look forward to the next.

Author's Response: That is actually something I worry about a lot. Because I have based the premise and the general direction of the plot on another series, there is a danger that I just end up using those ideae and nothing of my own. However, there are a lot of differences, and the narration, the dialogue and most of the characterization does come from me, and me alone. If you\'ve ever seen HYD, it\'s fairly apparent that my Draco is characterized rather differently from the series\' main character, and while I include the \'major\' plot points or events in HYD\'s plotline, I always try to add my own twist or take on it, in an effort to make it my own, but it is a legitimate concern of mine that perhaps too much is from another source.

Unstoppable by CharmedLife19    (Reviews - 224)

There are three things that truly matter to Lucius Malfoy: his family, his wealth and his blood. So of course, it was of utmost importance that his son marry a pureblood. Thus Lucius begins to arrange the perfect bride for his son. She must have both beauty and brains. She must be skillful with a wand, but with the elegance to know when to use it. When it comes down to it there is really only one woman that matches the criterion, but she comes with one problem: She’s a Weasley.

Interesting beginning. I'm definitely surprised at how almost devious Arthur seems, especially with the near power-tripping moment he has at the end, but I don't think you'll too far.

The idea that Lucius was cleared of all charges (without usage of bribes, curses, et al.), was also a new one for me, as I'm not used to thinking of him as being innocent in very many ways - especially concerning the diary.

But this was a well-written chapter, and as you've said that the entire story is outlined, I think I can trust that you know where this is going. I'm off to the next chapter.

Author's Response: Thank you for the review. As I\'ve said, a lot of this story is a bit OoC. However, I tried to do the OoC bits with a realistic feel. (I don\'t know if that makes sense at all...)

Wonderfully steamy! When I read the inspiration I laughed out loud - I can definitely understand how the concept of Draco dancing the way some of the people on that show dance would be appealing. (And the way you wrote it was even better!)

Author's Response: The couple that did the samba was my inspiration! I love the song \"Mas Que Nada,\" which they danced to (even if the girl did do rather poorly). Thanks so much!

Ahh, I'm so nervous for Ginny. She's obviously doing a great job so far keeping cover: from attending tea parties to keeping her roots dyed; but it's the little things that worry me. The way she forgets that as a Malfoy, people are always watching her - Draco caught (and memorized) Hermione's letter, the way Serafina Zabini overheard her conversation, and the way she said, "Oh, come on now, we are not at Hogwarts anymore". I'm not sure if you inserted that slip intentionally or if Draco or anyone else caught it, but I'm nervous that someone has.

Until you update, though, you've got me on tenterhooks. Wonderful job so far!

Author's Response: You are very observant :D Her regular slips only show that no matter how much you can change your appearance, and even demeanor, you remain who you are... Regardless of whether Draco and the others catch this or that slip, there are enough to spurr some instinctive questioning. Blaise will not be so keen on letting these slip again... Thanks for your review. I\'m glad you\'re catpivated.

That was an incredible scene. I could see it so clearly in my head - the image of all of these ghosts who meant different things to different people revisitng those they left behind. It was just incredible. There's so much more I have to say, but for now I'm just sort of spellbound.

Author's Response: Thank you. I\'m glad you could visualize it so well--it was pretty clear in my mind as well, and I wanted to transmit that. Say more whenever you feel like it: there\'s nothing more relaxing than being spellbound (see how we felt after HBP...) Thanks for the review!!

Date: Aug 25, 2006 Title: Chapter 14: 13. Good tidings

It's strange to remember sometimes, how devious Ginny really is. What I mean is that most of the time, I'm so caught up in the excitement of the story, and Ginny and Draco's relationship, that I tend not to remember that she's literally destroying him, little by little. It's amazing. And then from the other side is Blaise, who's only a bit far from finding out the truth. I'm so nervous for Ginny.

I also feel badly for Narcissa; although she's done awful things herself, it seems a horrible way to die...

Nice chapter.

Author's Response: Mmmh a long review like I like them. I\'m glad you\'re satisfied with the way I convey their relationship and Ginny\'s slow tentative to destroy Draco. Be very, very afraid, for Blaise is so close, he\'s actually there... as to Narcissa, well... is what she did REALLY that bad, if Lucius wanted nothing more than to die? [ponders...] Thanks for your review!

I absolutely adore this story. I love the historical references (it's always exciting to see original characters with names that have been given with a specific intent in mind. ie= Belial, indeed), and the ones you've chosen are great.

I can picture Cyrus in my head perfectly, and I have to say that I hate him. He's ridiculously disgusting, but very interesting. Voldemort was a huge deal in England moreso than any other place, but even so, Cyrus doesn't seem to care much about Ginny's past.

Well, I mean, it's as if the fact that she came from a family diametrically opposed to Draco's in every respect is only secondary to him having his way with her. Arrghh. I hate him.

And I'm really nervous for Ginny. She left England where Blaise was spying (very effectively) on her to come to this place, where her true identity was found out in about 5 seconds flat.

Ah. Lovely chapter - very exciting.

Author's Response: I\'m glad you like the historical references (more coming, mwahaaa!), and that you hate Cyrus. I\'m considering using him in later chapters, given the response he triggered... He\'s dangerous, but the fact that he has his own agenda might delay his revealing to Draco Ginny\'s identity. All in all, thanks for reviewing for so many chapters!

The thought of Tom Riddle having a daughter is creepy. I'm glad, though, that she's turned out to be such a genuinely kind person, although she bears the scars of her father's wrongdoings.

Cyrus is still an ass, but it's nice to see that most of Draco's other family members aren't so bad.

As the chapters come, I get more and more nervous about what Draco will do when he finds out what Ginny's done to him...

Thanks for the update!

Interesting. This actually brings up one of the questions I've had since the beginning of the story - and answers it, I suppose. I had wondered why even though Harry defeated Voldemort, why purebloods seemed to dominate everything. I assumed that it was just because Harry, and most/ a lot of his friends/family (the Weasleys), and allies had died.

But it's probably because of this laws of blood purity.

On a more random note, did you get Hadrien Prewett's name from the Roman architect/emperor? I love trying to figure out why you pick the names you pick, and I recognized this one and wanted to ask.

Author's Response: Yes, I was hoping it would explain why the wizarding world was so messed up. Did I do a good job, or is it an unsatisfying set up? (I imagined it to be somewhat similar to Hitler\'s take over of Germany, even if faster--but then again they\'re wizards, so i assumed they would live everything more intensely) Hadrien was indeed named after the Roman emperor. Good call! :D And thanks for the many reviews you\'ve left me :)

Reviewer: spider Signed
Date: Oct 14, 2006 Title: Chapter 19: 18. Truth be told

Wow.

Draco's anger in the scene where he finally finds out who "Ginevra Vassil" is was perfectly written. Despite knowing that you're such a sensational writer, I'd wondered if it might come across as cheesy or something.

Needless to say - it wasn't. It was perfect. When Draco decided to shoot a million questions at her, I actually started to feel a little befuddled myself - I can just imagine how Ginny felt. And he caught her spot on. And the knife he threw at her head...!. Suspenseful things like that are what make me love this story so much.

Now that Draco's found out, I don't know how to feel. I felt horrible for him knowing that he was in the dark, and I feel horrible knowing that he knows the truth. And now it's like Ginny's some sort of captive in the Manor; how will she ever be able to look at Narcissa in the face again?

And what will Draco "do with her" when she has the baby? And I wonder if Draco will allow her to use owls, since she'll want to owl Hermione and let her know that she's been caught.

Ah, I've got so many questions now! And I'm so excited for the next chapter; it's okay that it'll be a few weeks. I need to get work done, and having another chapter of this story would definitely put work on the back burner.

Fantastic chapter.

Author's Response: I\'m delighted you liked it. I wasn\'t sure of how to depict this scene, but in the end I think that\'s the kind of thing both Draco and Ginny would do in such a situation. You\'re very right about the tension this is going to add: Ginny is now a prisoner of her own home, in a way. The next chapter will make it clearer as to what he meant by keeping up appearances--not that it will be very surprising. Thanks a lot for your review!!

Ohhh noooo. I really don't want anything to happen to Dean; he's such a sweetie. I'm just a little confused about one thing - Dean had a friend who became a Death Eater and told him all about what happened the night the Weasleys were killed? But is it that he couldn't watch the memory, or that he didn't want to because he didn't want to see Ginny die? And then it's contained in that little orb? Sorry if I sound completely dense; I just wanted to make sure I got it right.

In the next perfect world, I would have Ginny be with Dean, if only because he's so sweet in this story.

Author's Response: He can\'t access the Memory Sphere (go Final Fantasy X!) because he has to be somewhat related to it to be able to read it. Of course you\'ll get to see what\'s in it in the next chapter (I\'m mean but not mean enough to keep that memory a secret). I think that in this not-so-perfect world, Dean is going to find out there are various, very convincing reasons for him not to be with Ginny--and the fact that she is not in love with him is definitely the least important (at least when his life is concerned). Thanks for all the reviews you\'ve left me over the months :)

Ah!!!! You don't know how THRILLED I am at the twins' names!! I knew, I KNEW you were going to name one of them Hadrian, it's a great name and he was one of the most talented emperors.

Anyway, I love this chapter. I think it's sad that Pansy and Ginny may never again be able to reconcile their differences, especially since they had become so close, but it's understandable.

I look forward (soooo much) to the next chapter.

Pierce is unbelievable. Most of the time I end up thinking that he's this really nice sort of guy, and then I conveniently overlook the fact that he killed his own mother. What's harder to overlook, since it's happening in present day, is that he's trying to give Draco someone to care about only to manipulate him with it - her - afterward.

After that, all I can think of is how evil Pierce can really be...

Reviewer: spider Signed
Date: Sep 02, 2006 Title: Chapter 8: An Eventful Evening

It wasn't at all mediocre, don't worry. The Slytherins are all so funny - though not exactly in a laugh out loud kind of way. They remind me of the other houses in some way, except they like to play at being Death Eaters - whether they've got the Mark or not, none of them has experienced what it really takes to be a thorough Death Eater.

And I felt so bad for Draco at the end of this. He really does seem lonely...ah, poor him!

Reviewer: spider Signed

Ah, but I love long chapters, and especially since it came from this story, it was a treat.

Pierce is one manipulative man...I would never have thought that he would have sunk to the low of using a sort of love potion. He's hardly got any scruples at all!

It's insane because I think that of all of the Slytherins we've met, he's one of the most dangerous kinds. He doesn't seem at all capable of a single cunning thought, but look at him! Plotting left and right, dosing students with potions, consorting with Death Eaters.

I don't know whether to applaud his cleverness or curse him for meddling in something that won't end well at all.

Anyway, thanks for the (lengthy) chapter!

Author's Response: I\'m so happy that you see Pierce that way! That\'s EXACTLY how I\'ve been trying to portray him, so I\'m really excited that you got that haha.

Pierce fought the urge to roll his eyes. So it was a teenage identity crisis. Just what he wanted to deal with. “Do you dislike him?” he asked.

Pierce inclined his head, responding with a kindly smile of his own…and absently wondered how best to go about killing her if the time came.

It's lines like those that show why I voted for you...

How does the world continue to go on when there's a man like that around??? It's amazing how he goes from having touching heart-to-hearts, and then has murderous thoughts. The scary thing is that, sure, in time, he MAY grow some semblance of a conscience and not want to kill Ginny, but right now, I think that if killing her were the most "reasonable" option he had left, he'd do it without any qualms.

He's so scary.
