Draco deserves every last bit of what he is getting - and more. I hope Blaise and Ginny make him squirm until his jaw falls off - the prat! Enjoying this immensely. Thanks for another great chapter. The tension just keeps building! -fallenwitch

One-shot. The war has finally ended, but there are still entanglements to work out, especially between Draco Malfoy and Ginny Weasley.

Ouch! Of course that is my interpretation of the tremendous ambiguity in this fic. My heart aches for Draco in his darkness. I hope going to Italy allows him a bit of a reprieve before coming back to face all of his demons again. A lovely piece with enough angst to go around for all of us! I loved it so much that my disappointment at NOT seeing another chapter of A Common Cure evaporated. Sometimes taking a break from the "pressures" of a long chaptered fic with something else can be so therapeutic. Thanks for this one. It's a keeper! - fallenwitch

Author's Response: Thanks again for another lovely review. But never fear, I have a timeline to adhere to. I WILL finish ACC before I graduate. Oh...that\'s only in 10 weeks. I WILL finish ACC before I enroll in law school? (But I\'ll try for the earlier date!)

Silver Linings by Nectaris    (Reviews - 31)

Starting in HBP from Ginny's point of view.

Draco Malfoy was certainly of no interest to a Weasley unless it was for hexing practice. Ginny, however, finds that even if he's unwilling to accept it, he's definitely earned some sympathy.

Other pairings are Lupin/Tonks, Neville/Luna, and Harry/Hermione. Rating might have to change later.

Beautiful prose. Wonderful characterizations - classically cannon in the best sense! Enjoying your sublime sense of humor as well. This story reads as smooth as silk. Your first fic? It's hard to believe!

On a separate note, I have to tell you that your bio is my absolute favorite of all the authors on this site! It is divine! PLEASE READ NECTARIS' BIO IF YOUR HAVEN'T ALREADY!!! (Think anyone will see that? I hope so!) - fallenwitch

Author's Response: I\'m afraid I giggled like a little girl (just a little bit) from your compliments. Thank you seems insufficient, so let me just say that Along Came A Wizard is currently one of the best of all the fics I\'ve read on this site (which must be a couple hundred by now). I am honored by your interest!

Okay, calm now. Just wanted to make sure you realized that the outrage and shock in my review were meant in the "positive" sense only! I thought it was a well-written and emotionally evocative chapter. That life-threatening twist at the end sent me over the edge. It's not often that a story gets that kind of visceral reaction from me. Okay, I will now calmly wait for your next update. Really enjoying this story immensely. Thanks! -fallenwitch

Author's Response: Thank you! Wonderful to know I reached someone. Haven\'t written anything that \"squicky\" in a long time. *sigh* had to be done, though. Keep holding your breath!

Well, after rereading that last section several times, I believe, by George, that I've got it! Nicely done and a bit creepy but nothing compared to that LAST chapter. Remus and Tonks are quite the couple! And it's nice to see Draco alive and rescued. I have a theory or two about that one as well but it will have to wait!

One humble suggestion. Please don't put your comments about the chapter's content at the top. It spoils everything for readers like me, who have been on the edge of their seat waiting for Draco to be rescued! Please let me have the joy of discovering that on my own as I make my way through that wonderful first scene! Those comments could easy go in a note at the end, if at all. You do NOT need to justify why you are writing what you are writing. I trust you, and I suspect everyone else who's gotten to this point in the story feels the same. We'll just wait and see where you decide to take us on this journey of yours. That's what makes you the author and us the readers.

Enough said. I patiently await the next update to find out what will happen to Draco next.

Author's Response: I was hoping someone would figure it out, you\'re probably right. It\'s going to be tricky to make it sound...well it\'s going to be tricky. Thank you for the suggestion, I think you are most definitely right, and I appreciate any constructive criticism I can get. Thank you for reading!

"Ginny glanced at Sirius's serious gray eyes." "Sirius's serious"! I had to read that one twice - v. subtle and v. funny!

Sirius and Ginny/Isendre are fabulous. Sirius adds just the right mix of gentle testosterone to the fic.

The problem I have with this chapter, and you may have stated it before, but I was too dim to notice it, is your self-characterization of the Slytherins as "evil". I don't see them as seeing themselves in this light. I think they conceptualize the world differently from Gryffindors - that's all. A bit more cunning and not afraid to use darker means to get to the end they want, but evil? For me, that didn't work, but I enjoyed this chapter anyway. They can keep calling themselves evil for the rest of the fic, and I suspect I'll just keep reading along, enjoying myself.

Draco's turn at the end was interesting. I was wondering if he wasn't projecting his own feelings onto Ginny rather than giving an accurate portrayl of her feelings for him. I think he's more in love with her than she's in love with him. We'll see. Thanks for the update!

Author's Response: Thank you very much! :D

Pureblooded hormones made this a most interesting chapter. Loved the bit with Sirius and Isendre. As well as the last bit where Draco get a bit of a conscience. Draco with a conscience is always a favorite of mine. Adds a nice dimension to his character and, in this case, show the development of his feeling, other than sexual, for GInny/Isendre.

Author's Response: Exactly! I really liked writing this chapter; it was LOADS of fun.

This is an interesting premise for a fanfic! I'm curious as to HOW Draco knows she has an eating disorder. Does he have one as well? Does someone - perhaps his mother - have an eating disorder? Hmmm... I'll be looking out for your next posting.

Hmmm...so what kind of wine is Ginny? Something fabulous... with a bit of a bite and a quality that he can't quite put his finger on... it's unique... something he's never had before... but oh so smooth going down...and terribly addictive. Whether's it's the house wine or the Lafite-Rothschild is irrelevant. What's relevant is the fact that he wants what he isn't suppose to want or what he can't have, and I think that would make for one cranky Draco. Just a shot off the top of the barrel. Cheers until your next update!

Author's Response: Well, Draco is pretty stubborn, so it will take a while for him to figure out what he wants. And he has a lot to learn before he gets there. Thanks for the review.

Enjoyed this chapter! Loved watching Draco scamper all over the place in empty pursuit of Ginny, who has him out-classed, out-paced, and out-tasted the entire evening. Looking forward to more, as usual.

On more of a confessional note, my father is an enologist. I grew up with all things wine. I don't drink wine. I don't like wine. I tried to get the wine rack taken out of my kitchen. However, I love my father and am quite enamored with this fic as well! I hope you don't mind a sloucher like myself coming along for the ride.

Author's Response: I\'m glad that you are enjoying the story, even if you don\'t enjoy wine! I hoped to make the story accessible to people who don\'t drink, so it is nice to see that I have succeeded at least for you. And there is more of Draco being outclassed still to come! Thanks for reading and for the review.

Enjoying the progression of this story. Narcissa knows what's best for Draco in wines and as well as a wife because she is, after all, his MOTHER.

I also LOVED your last chapter. The dynamic between Amber and Ginny and Draco was hysterical. Those knowing glances between Draco and Ginny were wonderful. It was nice to see them on the same side for once.

Author's Response: Yes, mother does know best. Or at least I expect I will think so if I ever have children. :) And the bit with Ginny and Draco responding to Amber in the last chapter is one of my favorite parts too. I\'m glad you are still enjoying the story. Thanks for reading!

Sooooo good! God, this fic could almost make me want take a sip of wine! As I shake myself out of my hazy, post-fic delirium, I would like to send the highest praise your way. What a wonderful, wonderful fic with characters as sublime as that bottle of 1967 Château d’Yquem!

Author's Response: Wow! That is high praise, considering your history. I never intended to drive anyone to drink, though I guess I wouldn\'t be too put out if it happened. I\'m glad you are enjoying the characterizations. Thanks for reading and for the review.

Yes, Draco is a prat and a snob and a bit thick in the head. Aferall, it took a brazen Weasley and a barrel over the head to knock some sense into him! So enjoying your tale. I think I have an idea of where Draco's palate might lead him next...or not!

Author's Response: Yeah, I guess Draco really was to dense for the usual blow to the head to make any difference. It did take a whole barrel. Thanks for the review!

I loved the cheese - every last scrumptious morsel of it! Thank you for spinning this wonderful tale of romance intertwined with wines. It was glorious, and I am sad to see it end - as I am with all good things in life. However, if your Draco and Ginny can survive 9 months of life without wine, I guess I can survive until your next fic... -fallenwitch

Author's Response: Well, at least it is tasty cheese! I\'m glad you enjoyed the story and I will try not to keep you waiting 9 months for another one. Thanks for the review!

Emptiness Echoes by Lorelai Walker    (Reviews - 31)

A small ‘oof’ of surprise was emitted by the person Draco had run into, and as he looked down on bright red hair, his breath caught in his chest. For a brief moment their eyes were locked on each other’s, and Draco simply took in the appearance of the littlest Weasley.

Wonderful chapter. I loved the way you portrayed Draco's growing attraction to Ginny and his increasing awareness of what Potter does and does not mean to her. And Ginny's equally powerful thoughts about Draco. Subtle and real. None of this waking up one morning head over heads in love with one another. Nicely done. Looking forward to more. -fallenwitch

Author's Response: I was trying to get Draco and Ginny together quicker, if only for my own personal gratification. *Sigh*, they just refused to be pushed. Lol. I do hate the way in some fics, they are completely in hate, dream about each other, and wake up as soulmates, completely and sappily in love! So maybe I\'m grateful they\'re taking their time about things, even if it\'s a little more gradual than I had intended.

Anxious to read more and finding your portrayal of Draco and his headtalk fascinating. I like the injection of anxiety that his feelings for Ginny have given him.

I'm curious about the series of events that led to him being chosen Head Boy after he tried to kill Dumbledore, and I'm also wanting to know why he spent the summer at Snape's and what Severus' real role is now. I suspect this is all to come?

Author's Response: This is a lovely and insightful review, my favorite kind. :) I enjoy writing Draco and I\'m glad that someone else enjoys reading it. All that and more is to come, although I partially addressed the Head Boy issue already. Most of the seventh year boys have gone from the school, but actually, Snape\'s role is partially why Draco is Head Boy. But you\'ll find out soon enough. :) ~Lunaeyes

Oh, so that's how Draco became Head Boy. Hmmm...I'll have to stew on that one for awhile. I have to agree with Draco, "What a load of rubbish." But the bits and pieces of history that you're giving us here are falling into place and making sense - even if it's not the whole picture by any means.

And I adored the way Draco finally shocked Ginny into silence. Good for him - one step closer to Potter's girl.

I have a weakness for Draco POV stories so thank you very much for giving me my fix!

Author's Response: Yes, it\'s still a little shaky as to how Draco became Head Boy, but we\'ll see a little more of that. I suppose it\'s like a puzzle, and I\'m only giving you a few pieces at a time. Thanks for the long review, as usual. I look forward to your thoughts on the upcoming chapters because you provide such insight and feedback. Yes, hee, it is good for Draco. It took him a little while to figure it out though. Reviewer: fallenwitch Signed
Date: Aug 28, 2006 Title: Chapter 5: Possession

Well, this was a nice transition from the last chapter, wasn't it?

I loved seeing Ginny mentally ditch Harry (who sounded like a prat anyway) after Draco held the door for her. Imagine what she would do if he snogged her?

It was fun watching Draco’s confusion about his reactions to Ginny. I guess this is where that Peeves-induced accident comes into play, isn’t it? Will it be the catalyst that allows Draco to see that his reaction toward Ginny 1) isn’t primarily driven by his need to best Potter and 2) isn’t merely some hormone-based phenomenon, either? Will it let him see that he does indeed have a heart, even if the damn thing's a bit frosty?

Or was the accident more for Ginny’s benefit than Draco’s, as he seems to have a bit more insight into his feelings for her than she does for him? Will it let Draco show her that he’s not 100% git, and that he cares for her, in spite of himself and her? What girl wouldn't fall for that?

I hope to hear the sound of their defensive denial towards each other falling in the coming chapters – sooner is always better than later, but I’ll take whatever you dish out!

Thanks for the update!

Author's Response: Ah, I love these kinds of reviews. They just make my day. I have to say that my favorite part is when Ginny is getting angry with Harry, as well. Goodness, you\'ll just have to wait and find out what she\'s going to do if he snogs her. :) The Peeves induced incident is my not-so-subtle way of giving them a healthy push, because they are btoh so damn stubborn that it might take a while otherwise. Draco might just surprise, who knows, but you can definitely exect that healthy dose of defensive denial. Lunaeyes

Reviewer: fallenwitch Signed
Date: Sep 02, 2006 Title: Chapter 6: Dreams and Denial

This chapter threw me for a bit of a loop. I didn't get what either one of them was going on about when it came to Draco carrying Ginny to the Hospital Wing. I mean, what else was he supposed to when she was injured like that? Leave her to die? I don't think so, too many house points deducted for that sort of thing!

It might have been more effective if Draco had rationalized his actions. "Of course he saved the bint. He was Head Boy, after all, but that didn't mean he wasn't still thoroughly committed to his original plan...blah, blah, blah" And I think that his dream following that defensive intellectualization of the situation would have been spectacular! (Of course, the dream was fairly spectacular all on its own!)

Those were just a few thoughts, which I hope you will feel free to blow off b/c only you know where this ride is headed! Anyhow, I enjoyed this chapter and, as usual, loved Draco's snarky head-talk immensely. (Sections I and III were my favourites!) Thanks for the update!

Author's Response: This is really awesome stuff, I have to tell you. Part of me if really wishing I used it, haha, yet I saw it a bit differently. You see, Draco and Ginny would see this very rationally, if they both hadn\'t felt something as it happened and got over defensive. Draco would have been, \'whatever\', but he was breathing hard and his heart beat was up and he knows something is there, so he isn\'t sure what to do. And we can\'t forget that Draco did almost kill Ron in HBP, so Ginny porbably doesn\'t see it as too far of a stretch for him to leave her there. :) I always look forward to these reviews! Lunaeyes
