How exciting. I can't wait to see what other readers have come up
with in their list of Draco/Ginny classics. I've been thinking
about this for a few days and heres my list. I am including stories I've read at other sites.
My definition of a "Classic"
1. A story I have read more then once. Some of the stories on this list I have read 2, 3 or more times and I enjoy them each time.
2. A "Real Draco". Lets be honest here. In cannon Draco is not a
nice person. But to water him down to a point where you cant recognize him is a sin. A good D/G writer can do that without making any sacrifices in character.
3. A "Strong Ginny" I like reading about strong, intelligent women so
if I start to see a Ginny that's a victim I move on.
4. Supporting characters with depth. Dimension is the key.
5. Plot. Plot. Plot. 'nuff said.
6. Originality. Likewise.
My list includes both short stories and novel lengths.
This is in no particular order.
1. Beyond Redemption by Davesmom
I like the way Davesmom takes her time with the plot. Both these
characters grow through the story till the end when they become a
committed adult couple. This was one of my first D/G stories and
probably the reason why I like this couple so much.
2. The Past Didn't Go Anywhere by Fearthainn
It was a toss up between this and Dark Directed another great
Fearthainn story. I chose TPDGA because of the original and solely
unique plot. Mystery, suspense and romance make for a great read.

3. Atypical Lesson by Sarea Okelani
Humor and great sex. What more can you ask! About two people in
love but don't know it. This proves just because its a short story
you don't have to skimp on character development. A very well
written supporting character in Hermione. The Ginny/Hermione
dialog should be a lesson on how to write good dialog.
4. Our Winter by Jade Okelani
New authors take note; you don't need a happy ending to be good. There is a sequel to this but "Our Winter" easily can stand alone. Jade Okelani takes her time developing her plot. Draco/Ginny have great depth so by end your heart really goes out to them.
5. A Bit of the Dark Sinister by Echo
You wouldn't guess it from the title but probably one of the
funniest D/G stories I've come across. Its real life humor and
wonderful supporting characters make this story a success.
6. Before the Storm by Glass_Mermaid
The most recent entry in my list of classics. Draco and Ginny go
through such a range of emotions that by the end I was rung out.
I'm not a "cry-er" by nature but after reading this I was a mess!
I understand the sequel to this is still up in the air. My
suggestion to Glass_Mermaid "Alternative Universe".
7. Jewel of the Harem by Anise
This is the quintessential Draco/Ginny road trip story. If you're
planning on sending D/G on a road trip, this story is the standard
you have to maintain. Lots of original characters, lots of D/G,
and a page-turner plot make this a must-read. Not to mention
Anise's own special brand of magic.
8. In the Shadows: A Tale of Silver and Gold by ugahill
The first time I read this story I thought I was reading JK herself. When I read the other reviews I wasn't alone in my thinking. Ugahill's Draco is so believable its scary. You watch Draco grow to love Ginny and he stays in character till the end.
9. Send Fudge by Annibug
Love in the midst of war. More great plot development in the form
of letters home. This also explores one of my hopes that Draco
and Harry can be in the same room without killing each other.
10. The Source by Luckyducky7
Mystery, great settings and strong dialog. Oh yeah and they fall in love along the
way. More great plot and strong supporting characters.
